Congrats to Killteam for winning this years championship. Tight race down the end for 2nd and 3rd place, was fun to watch. We got a little more than a week then arbitration begins.
-
Wow! What a great season so far. Three teams are battling for 2nd and 3rd. Good luck to you all down the stretch. Its been fun to watch!
-
I have 3 3rd baseman and 1 spot if anyone in need. Bregman Chapman Diaz - hit me up looking to package for SP -

6-8 teams are seriously contending even with these deals. Madmen is in first and adds a haul. Leather sitting as only team 5 ppg and 5 ppi. Stumptown solid hitting and pitching on paper and standings. DVS adding two bats and waiting on DeGrom. Stallions waiting on Eloy and Tatis to return. Papi got a pitching factory going on. Shift is sitting with Soto, Trout Vladdy, & Acuna just waiting for pitching. Killteam with all the HR hitters. This is what its all about IMO. I love this le

I took time to look at it again, ask yourself if you would have done the trade, break it down one player for two players and do on and you'll see it's not ''trash'', I voted for it
-
This is great! It's freaking May. Teams are wheeling and dealing to win. This is why I play. 12 active owners. I want to see teams countering moves made by other teams. I like understanding others mindsets to how they operate their respective teams. Most of this league has been together for over 5 years. We may not always understand each other's methods/tactics or strategies but I have confidence every team does what they feel is best for themselves. Question things, veto just be respectful
-
“The trade is trash”
-
I don’t think anyone is focused on ripping trades. It’s just a dialogue that helps more of us come to terms with why the trades make sense for both teams. I’d hate to think that folks would just veto without posing questions.
-
In the end, I’m happy with my return. Like DVS said, I enjoy playing in a competitive league but in my experience, very little comes from ripping trades on the message board. If there are issues, hit the veto button.
-
My team isn’t going anywhere this season. Too many injuries, not enough pitching. I’m happy with my return when looking forward to next season. The part being left out of the analysis with these trades is salary cap restrictions. Mookie wouldn’t be keepable for me next season if I want to contend going forward. And I don’t think it’s too soon to make moves like this. I’ve been playing Ottoneu long enough to know when to hit the reset button on a team.
-
AD, you are getting some really nice volume back, and taking a closer look I would agree that there is a decent chance that you will win this trade in the long run. Not a sure thing, of course, but it never is. I apologize to both of you for my earlier skepticism.
-
Bottom line is that we both did what we thought was best for our teams. Afternoon was looking at the future. I was looking at right now. Time will tell if one of us "won" the trade.
-
Wow, I didn't think I'd wake up to this lively debate on Sunday morning. I appreciate the comments on both sides of the trade. Of course, I don't think either team got fleeced in this deal. I gave up a lot of young, cheap talent for win now players. For my part, I hated to part with Gilbert, Adames, and Strider. I expect them all to return significant surplus value for years to come. Yes, I got good players in return, but I'm not going to keep them all at those salaries.
-
I couldn't be any happier with my return. Even if others don't see what I do.
-
I think DVS is also getting a very nice deal, no doubt. It feels slightly less unbalanced to me, as all of the players going back are solid MLB regulars vs. prospects (who are effectively lottery tickets until proven). That said, if I was trading Mookie, especially right now when he is playing close to park form, I would be asking for both - a couple of starters I could plug right in, along with 1-2 high ceiling prospects. It feels early to be making trades like this without maximizing return.
-
We have veto power in this league correct? Those who feel it is unbalanced should veto.

So Stumptown, I would like your opinion on Betts and Goldschmidt being moved. Two players averaging 8.5 points per game moving to one team.
-
I tend to agree with the take that more active shopping would almost certainly have resulted in a better return - and, likely spread the love across more teams. As it currently stands, Madmen and Misfits is getting a whale of a deal, Afternoon Delight's future looks only slightly more hopeful, and the rest of us hoping to compete this year have an even tougher race on our hands. Not a great dynamic for a competitive league such as this one, but I also don't think anything shady is going on.
-
I don’t think anyone is cheating for the record just grumpin lol

Here comes Madmen and he asks me who I actually wanted. I personally love Strider, Gilbert and Adames. Especially Strider. My only mistake I feel is that perhaps I should have given him Gleybar Torres and kept Polanco. No one on my team is off limits and I hope to continue to spread the wealth.
-
Since we are in deep discussions of "the trade" I will give my two cents. Springer is a great player but has an injury history. He has been on my trade block off and on for several weeks. I received no inquiries or proposals on him. Olson, as well, has been on the trade block and I did receive a couple proposals but I felt they all included players I wasn't interested in.
-
Hey now im trying to win back to back. Cant be having all you teams ahead of me making deals!
-
Crap shoot for a solid 4. This trade has no impact on the bottom half of the league, but teams 2,3, and 4 hopefully had a chance to make an offer on them. Game changer.
-
The trade likely effects me the most. I don’t like it but I also don’t think there is anything shady going on. I think both managers are doing what they think is best for their team and I haven’t seen anything from either of these teams in the past that would make me suspect differently. I’ll have to step up my game now.
-
The trade is trash. You are guys are too nice lol. It’s 4 top end players for 1 guy who isn’t a lotto ticket. For every vlad jr there are 15 jo addels. It’s really really bad and season altering. If I was closer I’d be losing my mind but the bigger point is shop your players. Give the league a heads up hey I’m willing to move every noteworthy piece I have for a little league team and the return would have been way way more.

First off I really appreciate and enjoy playing in this active and competitive league. IMO I dont see any issues with that deal. One team wants to win right now and is mortgaging the future to do so. Polanco and Olson are probably keepable but the rest are rentals. There is alot of young MLB ready assets that moved to the rebuilding team. There is a chance more than half are kept at seasons end.
This is going to be a digfight for the next few months. Lets Go!!!!
-
Sure is a blockbuster of a trade, but if you look at it closely, IMO only 4-5 players from the whole bunch are very attractive, he's getting Springer, Olson, Gray and Polanco in returm, the other guys are a flip of the coin, so I'm cool with it, but it's big alright, on one side it's 25% of the roster
-
Hate to be that person but the latest trade between afternoon delights and madmen and misfits is really lopsided. Do with that what you will but if any of those players were shopped a much larger return could have been had. Thanks

I’m looking to move a few of my higher priced bats. Would prefer SP in return but would also consider lower cost bats & prospects.
-
Taking offers on Trout. Looking for top prospects or younger high end players.
-
Happy Opening Day!! Let the season begin!
-
Season begins one week from today!!!!
Lets go!!!!
-
No strong feelings, but my schedule only gets busier as the spring moves along, so I would lean toward keeping it as well.
-
Keep the date
-
I am easy peasy. Either is fine with me.

Still waiting for a few owners to voice their opinions, but as it looks now the majority of votes are for keeping the aucrion on the 13th. Will keep everyone updated. I will give everyone who hasnt voted until Sunday.
-
I'm with Wonderdogs. As a team with a lot of cash to spend, I would like to have at least some info re injuries, team changes, etc. before heading into the draft. That said, I'll be there on the 13th if that's how the vote plays out.
-
I vote to keep it March 13
-
Just noticed I'm at 40 roster wise so no draft for me anyway....sniff sniff
-
I say keep it as it is, we are all in the same boat for the FA
-
I don't think you're missing anything and I think your points are valid. Only a couple teams responded so I'd be interested in hearing more opinions. For me personally there are a couple reasons. First the ottoneu auction availability. As far as baseball, I'm confident we will have a season. As far as free agents I think most teams in this league are built already which makes unsigned players less risky. I of course could be way wrong but just my opinion on things.
-
It may result in some players ultimately being more or less valuable than their auction salary, but I agree that it's mostly even amongst teams (though an argument can be made that teams that have more open roster slots are at a disadvantage in a draft with minimal info.). I'm fine to postpone it and can be flexible on a time, but am willing to stick to the original date/time if that's the consensus.
-
I feel that the competitive disadvantage of not knowing where a handful of players may go is equal to every team manager. Nobody gains an advantage either way by drafting on our current date.
-
Outside of time slot availability, I'm curious why the preference to draft when we don't know a bunch of free agency outcomes or when/if the season starts? Ultimately I'm fine either way but I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing...
-
I also prefer to keep it as is
-
I vote for keeping the draft date on the 13th.
-
I will be more than happy to hear what all owners think. If there is a majority of teams in agreement then we can discuss moving draft date. Personally I'm fine doing it on the 13th. Another thing we need to keep in mind is time slots for drafting. Ottoneu auction dates and times fill up quickly and I would hate having to do a spreadsheet just to figure out who can attend auction, when they can auction, what time to auction, and if auction slot is actually available. Let me know your thoughts.
-
I think we should push the draft date. No sense in drafting until we know the status of the season.
-
I don’t know how the league would feel about the commish pushing the trades through as we have two new owners and rosters lock in 2 days. I don’t see anything getting vetoed but don’t mean to be pushy.
