I got my first call for a kidney transplant this week. I did not get it but I expect to be called the next month or two until I have a match. SO IF i miss some time I will be back. I have been on waiting list for 4 1/2 years.

Last day for arbitration and only one team left - nice job gang

My Arb $$$ has been allocated.

Only 3 teams left to finish arbitration, plus Space Jays needs to use up his last dollar
-
Hey all, I am heading out of town for a few weeks on a much needed vacation. My allocations are complete, so I shouldn't miss anything in that span. Don't think I bailed! Take care.
-
Let's try to get 2021 league renewals resolved as we work through arbitration. As things stand, looks like only myself and Cornucopia have paid up.

When I took on my first ever Ottoneu team here a year and a half ago I never expected to take that team to this level by this season. It’s been a magical ride this year and a lot of fun, I look forward to another fun year next season. I’m grateful that my first league hasn’t been so engaged and fun!
-
Fun season everyone!
-
Just a reminder that players auctions need to be started before midnight tonight in order for them to be processed before the season ends due to the 48hr rule.
-
Battle for 2nd and 3rd heating up!
-
Just looked at the owner board and all owners have been on within the last week, making this a very active league, thank you all for a great year.
-
Trade deadline coming up. Time to get those deals done for late pushes and/or getting ready for next year.
-
Thanks for posting that community thread Duda, at least going forward it is all very clear what will happen in an event like that.

Have to say I agree with commish -bad luck all around

Yeesh

Why does everyone keep on needing to put their two cents in? He’s cut the decision was made - precedent set. It’s over
-
This is getting weird and unnecessarily toxic.

Way to hop in after it's all said and done with nothing of value to add Corn

How is this different than a career ending injury for our fantasy purposes? My heart goes out to his family but not to his fantasy owners.
-
Appreciate you making the cut Duda. This league will continue to enforce normal salary cap rules in the unlikely event another tragedy strikes.
There will also be no salary cap relief for players who get suspended for PEDs, domestic violence, etc.

He’s cut - hope you are happy
-
Whatever it’s just a stupid pretend baseball league don’t get your panties in a bunch
-
better yet, cut him to make your roster legal and i will nominate him and remove your cap penalty. problem solved
-
trade skaggs to me, i will take the cap hit
-
you cap hit on Happ would be $1 and Mullins $2. now it is 2 and 3 or $5. you gain two bucks, and cap hit on skaggs is $2. if you are so worried about $2 why would you trade $89 in cap money in your blockbuster deal. Your cap logic is not making any sense.
-
That’s not correct. I would get my $2 back and I would get $4 for Skaggs. Last I checked $2+$4=$6
-
Death is not the same as an injury...
-
No one is asking to cut an injured player who would play again for you
-
Duda, if you nominate and but Happ and Mullins, you get your $2 dollars back
-
I think you are being unreasonable about this D&D
-
example is i would likely cut kluber if the cut was free
-
I am in favor of no votes and we aren't going to start making exceptions, pretty soon managers will expect to get free cuts when an injured player is out for the year.
-
Since we have a lot of newer members since this happened last maybe we could set the precendent now for extreme cases? Could we do a quick online vote to settle how we'd handle these types of issues?
-
With the difference being $2, I am okay with whatever the league/commissioners decide; however, if a precedent has been set, I think it should be followed. Otherwise, we will need to have this discussion anytime there is an unfortunate situation like this or when an unforeseeable event occurs outside of the owning team's control.
For instance, what if Lucroy were to have a much more serious injury and decided to retire mid season? Does the same precedent apply?
-
I understand where Deal It & Duck is coming from, only $2. At the same time, I have no problem at all with a free cut given the situation.
Looking at the transaction page for JF that was pretty much the end of the season so the cut didn't really affect the season at all. So I think it's kind of an apple/oranges thing. I also wasn't in the league then either.
I'm still shook that Skaggs died, sad situation all around.
-
Also how many people are in here from when JF died? The league has turned over a few times since then...
-
If it’s a moot point than why not a free cut?
