Yep to confirm (since the banner did have Keeper deadline end of January initially) the Keeper Deadline is now: February 15, 2022
-
Yes it says that at the top of the page, but probably good to bring more notice to. Also, niv says it may or may not be further extended depending on the lockout situation.
-
You guys can confirm this but I think the final cut date has been extended until February 15th.

im willing to accept overpayment for rake cronengirth

People are excited about the guy who was the 16th higher scoring SS last year? I thought offering the 12th highest scoring catcher after you said that was a need was pretty fair. Guessing I won't have the Brewers utility guy on my team this year.
-
Everyone that doesn't want to overpay for Urias, consider properly paying for Swanson or Jizzum

The level of attention I'm getting on Tanner Rainey? It's wild. You guys are offering me your best players and I just don't know which offer to accept. Simply, thank you!
-
Pretty wild that people are offering you trades for a player you have on your trade block.

Yes, Luis Urias is available. But at this point, you're going to overpay because the amount of trade offers on this guy is more than any other player I've ever held. Y'all wild
-
I’m gonna do the opposite. Just like Jerry Dipoto, I get twitchy when there’s no moves. Gonna make up for lack of real baseball off-season action with rapid fire fantasy baseball hot stove action
-
I do hope that everyone respects the lockout provisions and doesn't make any more baseball moves until a new CBA is reached. Enjoy the holidays!
-
I had both MVPs :'-)
-
I guess if there was going to be promotion/relegation this year it would have happened already? Sucks for the winner for AAA.
-
Thanks for everybody staying up on things and doing arbitration increases.
-
I think it goes against the spirit of the league to not allocate. The point is to increase the cost of players on teams to force tougher decisions for everyone and to increase the pool of acceptable talent in the ensuing draft. It takes 10 minutes.
-
FAF - as long as the team keeps the player you give money to, it doesnt really matter which player to allocate to, their team salary goes up regardless
-
Thanks for your input. There's no wrong answers since my roster is so loaded with proven championship-caliber talent.
-
Late to the Party is free to not do arbitration, if they so choose. Also wild to me to see some of y'all throw money at Juan Soto when Ohtani & Trea Turner were basically just as good for O'Kieboom'er, at half the price
-
I don't agree with O'K that you should kill yourself if you don't arbitrate, but you should do the allocations.
-
Yep I'm definitely on board with kicking out managers who don't do arbitration. You have a month, there's no excuse for failing to complete one of the fundamental aspects of an ottoneu format league. Arbitrate, draft, set your lineups, otherwise what are you doing here.
-
Why would someone not participate in arbitration, besides potentially not participating in other parts of the league?

Can we boot anyone that doesn't complete allocations by a set time?

Should we think about bringing in the new owners for the relegated team now so that they can have a chance to conduct the offseason as they see fit?
-
Good post relevant to issues we've had with certain owners this year and last: https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/ottoneu-league-best-practices/

Alright, so checking in on it further, it looks like CJ Abrams was activated on Oct 4. Since the regular season ends on Oct 3rd, and O'Kieboomer was in compliance by the end of the day Oct 3rd, then in my interpretation that makes every team in compliance by the end of the regular season and no further moves need to be done at this time.
-
The season ended on October 3rd and I had 42/42 on my roster. Please ask yourself, what rule or spirit of fairness am I violating by not cutting to satisfy a 60IL spot I lost after the regular season ended? This would be a dumb precedent to establish, and there's never been whining about it in any of the other years I've been in the league.
-
I was going to cut to 40 because at some point we'll lose 60 day IL guys, but it won't allow me to cut anybody. I see it's also removed salary cap that was traded this year. If people want to have off season rules I'm down to discuss options. Going over during the season wasn't allowed is how I view it. If others feel differently we can discuss it.
-
I think these two situations are pretty clearly different in context. There wasn't any punishment taken, just normal moves needed to get under compliance.
Regardless, O'Kieboomer you did go out of compliance during the season just before the end and are the only team not in compliance with roster cap, so I don't see why you wouldn't just cut just one of the countless players you will eventually need to cut/move before the Draft anyway to get into compliance before Arb
-
This is so unnecessary. You willingly went over cap during the season, I didn't. It's that simple.
-
So my understanding is it’s the commissioners discretion. Which clearly was stated last week when I had to cut 3 keeper players, that ALL teams had to be in compliance by arbitration time.
-
“All teams are eligible to participate in arbitration. It is up to each league to determine how comfortable or uncomfortable they are with purposefully circumventing cap / roster rules towards the end of the regular season. There was a long debate in Slack a couple of years ago about the practice of starting 50+ auctions on the last possible day, and it basically comes down to whatever your league is ok with and setting expectations so everyone is on the same page.”
-
He also goes on to say this, “There isn’t a player or cap limit going into the off-season, but that is mostly for teams carrying 60-day DL guys, since the 60-day DL disappears. While the site doesn’t explicitly make you cut someone, it seems against the spirit of the rules not to. There’s been longer debate about this in Slack and I think it basically boils down to what your league is comfortable with.”
-
This specific issue is discussed on the official forums in the link I shared on October 4th, from the founder of ottoneu: "There aren’t cap and roster limits in the offseason. If there were, 99% of teams would be in an illegal state, between loans no longer existing (they disappear on the last day of the regular season) and the 60-day DL disappearing."
Maybe as a commissioner you should review this sorta thing before posting.
-
Everybody should make sure to be in compliance. Some 60 day IL guys have gotten changed since the end of the year.
-
Would be great if I could get Matt Brash back on my team before arb started

Obviously I didn't add anyone before the end of the season. CJ Abrams got removed from the 60day IL to get sent to the Arizona Fall League https://www.mlb.com/news/cj-abrams-will-play-in-2021-arizona-fall-league
-
Did we not all have to be in compliance by the end of the week? Because there is still a out of compliance roster..
-
okieboomer is out of compliance too
-
Congratulations on finding a way to get excited about finishing in 6th place.
-
That’s ok. Understandable. @(sandy) this bloke only joined this league to beat you as I’ve told you before. Which I did, even while giving up halfway through.
And I will beat you every year I’m here without Springer or with him. So it really don’t matter in the end. Good luck next season!
-
It is your responsibility to be in compliance with the salary rules. Cut whoever you want to, but your roster needs to be in salary cap compliance by the end of the week. It's a small penalty in the end. Arbitration starts in 11 days.
-
I'm not sure why this bloke gets a move undone due to his own ignorance. We've all been reminded of the rules enough times that this shouldn't be an issue. Drop Springer if you want to, but that shouldn't be some undo type of action. Or drop other guys. I'd never tell somebody else how to manage their team.
-
p sure its a rule to be in roster cumpliance until the player taxes are added
-
So, Darby or JT, please feel free to take Springer off my roster and place him to the next highest bidder.
-
Ok I stand corrected, there is a rule in place for it. Fantastic, I will remedy the situation. Although I’d like to point out the same rule was broken earlier this season with Trout and then his roster was corrected. And there were other instances as well. Like I said, I was unaware of that rule. But I will correct it now.
-
There is a rules tab : "At no time shall a team willingly go over roster and salary cap limits. If a team knowingly does this, they will face penalties at the discretion of their league's commissioner."

There are multiple instances in the thread of commissioners bringing up analogous scenarios and there is broad consensus, actually seems to be unanimous, that it's not good behavior. You're being pretty defensive about it seems to imply you also know it's not good and appealing to the fact that it's not explicitly banned, but we all have to be in a league together next year (except Pitches Be Crazy) and I don't want this to happen again.
-
On the last day of this season I added a player to help me for the upcoming season. Knowing full well I sit well under the cap and roster limit.
I’m assuming you lot were out bid and that’s why you’re pursuing this. Either way I could care less. It’s a fantasy baseball league, and I added a free agent to my team. And I’m well working compliance for the next season once the cap gets reset.
So unless Darby feels it’s unfair I’m not concerned with it.
-
Well, sorry you feel that way. Either way my team has to be in compliance for next season. So I personally don’t have an issue with it. There are no posted rules about it anywhere within our league or I wouldn’t have done it. My team had to be in compliance next season regardless. And as I sit right now I’m almost $70 under cap.
So I don’t feel this is an exploitative action. In that thread you referenced it was people exploiting the system and expanding their roster to 50+
-
Second place again only over a 1000 points behind. Congratulations O'Kieboom'er on back to back titles
