• OK, so not a lot of strong feelings on the commissioner transition. A couple owners also responded privately to me. In light of indifference and lack of opposition, I self-nominate to be commissioner starting in 2020. Resolving this matter now would also give me some time to learn the ropes from Trey before his departure. I will wait another 48 hours for other nominations or comments, at which point I will call a league vote on my 2020 appointment.

• Everyone, we should begin a discussion about who will take over as commissioner after this season. I presume Trey would like to hand over the reins before the arbitration season. I checked with Trey and he has not yet talked about it with other owners, so it seems this is wide open. It would probably be best to have a long-time member of the league take over for the sake of stability and Ottoneu experience. That said, I am willing to serve as commish if no one else steps forward. Thoughts?

I’m looking to move some combination of cheap vets who have been good this year like Kendrick and Bruce, and once-hyped guys who need to rebound late this season to be keepable, like Nimmo and Strahm, or pitching fliers like Heaney and Framber. Basically anything that has a chance to return future value is available for any off-season cut that’ll likely score some points for me down the stretch
