As tricky as accommodating our many time zones will be for a live auction, I think a slow auction would be even harder. Everyone can probably squeeze in a live auction, even at a less-than-ideal time, but asking managers on the West Coast and in Europe to both keep track of a slow auction for many days, if not weeks, would be a big ask. If league mates are super keen on the slow auction format, we could consider it for '23, but let's stick with the live auction for this season.

I am not in favor of a slow auction. While I understand the appeal of avoiding the scheduling discussion, a slow auction takes a LOT more time than a zippy live auction simply due to the constant checking day after day. Also, the best time to discuss significant league format changes is between the WS and the keeper deadline. I know auction style doesn't actually change in-season play, but it's not trivial either.

I can't speak for my co-owner but I vote "no" on a slow auction. Yes, getting together can be a pain but it gets done in a few hours. A slow auction would be akin to what's happening now in MLB. My suggestion would be to have a later freeze date each year. GF

Also, any chance I could talk you fellas into doing a slow auction instead of a live auction? I’d be happy to run it, take care of player inputs, etc. It negates scheduling issues and gives us something to do over this fallow period.

Hello all...this is GF, the computer-challenged member of the Eckfords' ownership. I thought I was reviewing our roster to see where we might cut salary. Instead, I ended up cutting a bunch of players, some of whom we might keep. I am hopeful the commissioner get correct my error.
