February 24, 2021 10:27 PM : Grossman is a candidate to bat leadoff this season, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The Tigers lack a surefire leadoff hitter, which opens the door for Grossman. The veteran won't offer much speed, but he doesn't whiff a ton (under 20 percent strikeout rate the past four seasons) and he got on at a respectable .344 clip in 2020. Even if he doesn't lead off, Grossman should hit near the top of the Tigers' order and play almost every day.
