Buster... you're right! I apologize for not making it interesting. I'll work on my smack talk and get better throughout the season. ;)
-
Yo Lickety, I’m not sure there’s a need for shaming a team let alone trying to make a point of it only four games into a season. I don’t mind smack talk but at least make it interesting.
-
Chronic... 1.86 pts/gm with your hitters...?
-
And then how quickly you both dropped to 5th and 6th place, respectively
-
Quick and easy first place start for me and Slow Jack with those Stanton and Eaton bombs. If you guys want to just Venmo us instead, that would probably be easier than waiting all 60 games

Hey all, I need everyone to send me the $50 league buy in before Opening Day on Thursday. Venmo is easiest for me (@Austin-Cibulka). I also have Pay Pal, if you would prefer to pay a different way, please contact me.
-
Yeah that would be a question for the ottoneu developers. They are pretty active on their twitter page (@ottoneu), or another option would be raising the suggestion to this forum: https://community.ottoneu.com/c/ottoneu-fantasy-baseball/5 --- it's probably a bit too late to implement something like that for this year, but going forward these are two options I would go for suggestions to improve the league. They typically roll out a few updates every winter.
-
Any way to add DH as a position outside of UTIL, since the entire league is using one this year? Maybe that's an automated Otto setting, but would love a permanent DH lineup slot.
-
Quick reminder to all-our auction draft is scheduled for this evening at 6 central time.
-
Also, the draft is set for next Sunday, July 5th at 6 pm central time. There will be no penalties for not making game limits this year, but please everyone stay active. Every single team here has a legit shot to win money with such a shortened season. Should be interesting.
-
The poll results are in. We had a majority decision for every question. The results are as follows: $50 buy in, normal arbitration and inflation will remain if the season completes as planned (60 games), arbitration and inflation will be completely removed if the season ends with less than 60 games played and lastly, if 45 games or more are played, we will award a normal payout (1st-$400, 2nd-$150, 3rd-$50). Let me know if anyone has questions.
-
100% agree, I didn't have a chance to follow up yesterday because Ottoneu from a phone is like the DaVinci code to me, but I wanted to thank him for putting together that poll, it addresses most of my concerns about running the season. However, I still stand by that this season will be an absolute disaster from a real life and fantasy perspective, but now, I sort of can't wait...
-
side note - i think we have the best commish around... just hope we can match or top the money he is going to get when he gets the offer to replace manfred... but for realz, thanks cibulka for keeping us all organized and running point on herding the 12 owners... thanks for all that you do man!
-
Hey all- I made a little poll for every one to vote on. I think it’s important for us to get these details straightened out before we draft. Let me know if anyone has any issues:

We should definitely play. Does anyone feel more comfortable doing a $25 fee instead of 50? I don’t really care either way

Thanks Gregg!
-
The update (part 3) link at the top of the page sorts all the deadline stuff out, with more information to come.
-
I hear what you all are saying. It should be worth while for those 60gms. Any details on a trade deadline or anything like that?
-
it would suck if a high profile player (or any player) tests positive and they have to sit out for 14 days... but what also sucks is tommy john, ACL tears, breaking a hamate bone from getting hit by a pitch, etc... anyone’s stance on whether or not baseball should actually be played is 100% their opinion and they are entitled to that opinion... but if baseball is going to play, then what’s the downside to us in playing FANTASY baseball?
-
Boys we paid money to play lol, we are playing. Simple as that
-
Hey guys, what's the harm in playing FANTASY baseball this year? We've waited this long, why can't we at least get our teams drafted and rosters set, make trades, pick up free agents, plan for next year, do arbitration, etc. It's FANTASY freaking baseball. Let's have some fun.
-
I'm on board with your stance Starting. It just feels forced and who knows what players might opt out of playing like the NBA is seeing.
Also, throw in when a high profile player testing positive and then out for 14 days. That would suck all around.
-
Anyone else have the distinct feeling this season will be a complete clusterfuck? Thoughts about just punting and pausing everything? Enjoying whatever baseball we do get, in it's bizarre form. Thoughts?
-
Exciting news today as baseball finally has come to an agreement for a shortened season. I have gotten word that everyone in our league is able to hold the auction draft on Sunday, July 5th at 6:00 pm central time. Mark your calendars for that date to hold our draft. Make sure you pay attention to further details released about the actual season as there will be several changes that will affect our league. Looking forward to it!

We should ask for refunds from Ottoneu. There is no season happening this year...
-
Realistically, whenever they decide to move forward it will be accompanied by at least a 4 week rollout, so we should be in fine shape to find a date. No point, in my opinion, in drafting before we know the rules of the league and guidelines. Players who are 'at risk' may sit out, that's a huge factor before we start picking players...I don't want to be researching everyone's medical history LMAO
-
The longer this thing drags out, the longer we can wait to draft. I just don’t want to get into a situation where we are scrambling a week before the start of the season to find a date everyone can make. One positive with drafting is we can then begin to make transactions. I guess we will push things back into July and wait until we hear more from MLB. Try to keep Sunday evenings open in July, if possible. Once we hear official season details and rules, I’ll follow up with an update.
-
Even if the MLB does end up playing a season this year, I vote that the salaries don't automatically go up, nor should we have an arbitration next year.
It just doesn't seem right. Considering the circumstances.
-
I did some searching, I don't see baseball starting anytime soon.
Why would we draft?
-
Is baseball starting up?
-
Hey all, we have decided to move the draft date to June 28. This will be the final change and we will for sure be having it on this date, unless there is someone who cannot make it.
-
Sounds good to me
-
Let's push it back and target a date in late May or early June. It sounds like there is some momentum for a shortened season with some extra quirks - such as a DH among every single team. These types of details I would like to know about before we draft, as it could effect some players. For now, I am going to set the draft date for Sunday, June 7. If anyone knows for sure they can't make that day, let me know.
-
I vote push it back (at least a bit), we should have more information in the next two weeks or so...
-
What's the ruling, commish? Are we having the draft May 3rd or are we pushing it back to sometime in June?
-
Also, with all that has happened and will continue to happen with a shortened or lost season, the players we currently have, will they get the automatic monetary raises next year? I seriously hope not!
-
yeah definitely not set on may 3... im good with pushing it... just whenever
-
I’m ready whenever
-
I would also vote holding off for a bit
-
I say we hold off. June is still over a month away yet. So we can easily find a date before then, escpecially since no one is going anywhere.
-
may 3 is good with me
-
Hey all - I would like to hear what some think about the auction draft date. Since we already paid the ottoneu fee this year, I think we should definitely have the draft at some point. I know I originally scheduled it for this Sunday, May 3. Do we want to keep it for this day or push it back until we have a better idea on when the season will start? Right now, latest report is July 1 being best case scenario for start of season.
-
May 3rd is open for me.
-
With the CDC's latest suggestion, its looking like the season will not be starting until late May at the absolute earliest. With this, I think we have enough of a window to be confident in finding another date closer to the actual start of the season. Any thoughts? Would probably be looking at a draft in late April or early May. Maybe May 3?

Probably in the minority here, but I suggest we push the draft. Who knows when the season will start and having a hiatus, there will be injuries picking it back up. I think we should set a draft date once there is a set in stone date to start the season.
-
We are going to proceed with keeping the draft as scheduled - March 22 at 6:30 pm eastern time. Don't know for sure when the MLB season will start (right now its April 9), and I don't want to get into a situation where we have to rush to get the draft done in case they change the date of opening day again. If anyone suggests otherwise, please let me know. For now, plan on March 22 at 6:30 pm eastern time.
-
I have set the draft to be Sunday, March 22 at 6:30 pm eastern time, 5:30 pm central. I have yet to hear of anyone who cannot make this. Please say something ASAP if it does not work. Looking forward to it!

One last thing that I failed to mention: everyone here needs to renew their team by January 31 (and pay the ottoneu fee). If you fail to renew, your team will automatically be marked as Abandoned, and it takes a process to get it back. Hopefully we don't have this issue with anyone. Let me know if anyone has any questions about this.
