I'm looking to move either Stanton or Longoria if anyone is interested. Trying to add depth to my team and build for the long term and gain some payroll flexibility. Send some offers my way.
-
Thank you Jacks, makes total sense.
-
it's because they assume you need to have two catchers over the course of the season to fill the 162 becasue they play less. So you can have two play in one day BUT be careful because you do only have 162 games.

Pardon this dumb question, but why are there 2 Catchers spots on the lineup, but only ability for 162 games played at the position...Should it be 324 or is the 162 actually correct. Thank you.

Prize amounts work for me
-
Prize amounts look good. Alternate suggestion would be $200, $120, $80 and $40. But I'm fine with CGT recommendation if that's the consensus.

Alright we have 11 in, Jum Hendry/JD is abstaining and exempt from prizes but I know he'll be active. That's $440 total. How about $220, $110, $70, $40 for the top 4 spots? Let me know your thoughts and ideas.

Also, I got relievers (Feliz and Nathan of interest?) and SP available, open to anything, but has to be an improvement in some way. Certainly don't need to make any deals.

I think giving up Gray AND $$$ for a useless pitcher and a platoon player is damn silly. I get it's a dynasty league and Darvish may have value next year at $10 for half a season, but that seemed like a crazy trade in March to me. That being said, JD usually kicks my butt in the other league we're in, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing. Carry on...

now that the trade went through, I'll comment on it because as I said, don't want to get into campaigning on trades. First off, I agree with Pinochie that unless I suspect some sort of collusion, I can't imagine hitting the veto button myself, but the league does allow for a majority vote to veto a trade on any grounds and wanted to make sure people were aware of that. Plus if I play the villain like that...it gets you guys chatting on here which is way more fun. As for the trade itself...

If a player goes on the 60 day DL, then that opens a roster spot for you as long as he remains on the 60. However, you still have to foot the bill for his salary.

I only would ever consider rejecting a trade if there seemed to be some sort of collusion between parties. Which I don't expect to ever happen in this league.

My question was if a player goes on the DL, is there any salary cap adjustment or is the money sunk on that player?
I guess my thought was that I would rather slightly overpay for Gray rather than having $8 sunk all year and then a questionable Darvish back next year at $10 after TJ. The other way to look at it is if he comes back in great form $10 for Darvish is a bargain.
-
I think the prior trade is more questionable. Again, Cain was just auctioned - so MV. Blackmon, I think, would have gone for much more than $8. But, can we say Blackmon is so undervalued that trade is unequal given the owners' right to decide how to construct their teams? I say no way.

Darvish and PAlvarez were just auctioned - so they have to be seen as priced at market value. So the question is whether SGray is so above or below market value that the trade is unfair. I don't see any argument that SGray is not w/in the range of market value - so no argument trade is unequal.

If Darvish goes on the 60, then I can just fill his spot with Kuroda. Sure, Hiroki's old, but he'll still be a good matchup play. Unless someone picks up Kuroda before I have a chance to get him.

I don't really believe in questioning trades, I kinda see the logic in this. It's hard to ascribe any solid value to Darvish right now.
-
it gave me pause, but probably just me. Really just wanted to make people aware of the option more than anything as I don't wish to get into campaigning for or against trades.

What's the problem with the last trade?
-
just a friendly reminder that we can actually veto trades if the majority of the league agrees. I don't think I've ever voted either way, but that last one has me thinking about it.
