Well damn, I bid everything I thought I had available ($56) but am now showing $60 available. how long do you have to get under the cap space in this instance?
-
yeah, I learned hard way that only way you can get back under the cap is by cutting .. to be fair, I *knew* this, but I wasn't considering it when I snagged Kepler that I didn't really have any good cut options to get back under .. it's really hard when you factor in that you only get 50% back

you can! But you need to get under the cap space if you want to make ANY other moves after the auction is done. Gotta have a plan. I suppose someone could just freeze their team at some point and stop making moves if they give up on the season but I presume we can make a gentleman's agreement that if anyone pulls that shit, the commish can and should cut players for them if you they don't do it themselves within a week.

So you can bid over what you have available in your cap space?

Gonna guess Bellinger, Blackmon and some combo of Gore, Civale, Syndegaard? That $1 needed for each open roster spot is always tough to make these work.

Now, how am I going to clear $38 off my payroll?

Now the fun begins, with $38 of cuts coming our way...

and the over wins! $57 plus whatever you get from his this year is gonna be a steal.

gonna be interesting to see how inspections go today ... wonder how much this adds to average game time ... hopefully they just use the 2 min. breaks between innings that are already there

Donaldson with his second 2 homer game in the last week. A shame nobody can use this guy. That’s over 100 fantasy points in the last 10 days for a cool 10 points per game …
-
They’re toast.
-
You gonna fire the head of scouting?
-
Clearly didn’t do my homework on that recent trade. I had no idea Keston Huira was doing this bad.
-
I’m also selling my higher priced players. Arenado, Hoskins, Bellinger, Blackmon, Schwarber, Darvish, Snell, etc. looking for young, cheap players, just like everybody else.
-
Also Molina on the block if you need a Catcher. He is putting up great numbers this year avging 5.32 fantasy points per game. 7 HR etc. not looking for huge return - just a serviceable player under age 26
-
Yes I guaranteeeeeeeeee it!
-
I’m offering Lindor Hendricks and Pollock to contenders for prospects or injured young players. Yes they are under achieving this year but WHEN they get hot I guarantee they will help you climb the standings. I’ll cover $$ in trades.
-
All -- looking to dump one of your players? Sure that no rational manager would accept him in a trade? Let's make me an offer first. I once traded Charlie Morton for Francisco Meija, so you know I am not exactly Nostradamus. Looking for cheap keepers to build this organization from the ground up. Available are Mookie Betts, who has been raking lately, Jose Abreu, and Ozzie Albies, among others.

I think it goes without saying that Jesus Sanchez will be the next Albert Pujols after this mess.

And I still have K. Robinson, forgot about him
And if anyone actually believes I mentioned anything yesterday in a dastardly plan to get the players myself, please veto the trade. Seriously.

I got Rob’s whole farm system. And the Cubs 🤣 also I did send Amos a partial version of the trade which he will have a chance to refuse or accept before I move on.

I think we’re seeing some conflict of interest on Rob’s part here... (not really, just giving you a hard time)

I’ve been in leagues on other sites that vote on trades too. It’s helpful to have a recourse in the case of collusion or the occasional last-place owner trying to flip the table over, but in practice too many people use it to object to trades just on the basis of being lopsided. This league is good about that, though. I can’t recall a serious debate about a trade that was made in good faith.

The voting on trades is just an Ottoneu thing, I believe most of us ignore it 99% of the time. But I suppose if a trade seems particularly one-sided it’s there to keep the league in balance.

I do want to apologize tho. Especially to Amos. I’m not sure how I screwed up the offer I thought I checked by clicking on Sanchez but I must have just entered the name Sixto Sanchez into player search. Then I clicked on the names and made offer. It is on me ultimately to triple check. But to my credit (hahah) I’ve been in the league since its inception and never done this before so I do appreciate a mulligan!
-
To be clear, I don’t generally believe that imbalanced trades should be vetoed. Presumably the owners involved know how they personally value the players, so that’s fine even if I don’t agree, and it’s on the rest of us for not making a better offer. My thinking here was that there was an error that both owners wanted to undo, nothing about whether it was a “balanced” trade.
-
I don't personally feel it's vetoable but I can completely understand the Sixto Sanchez thing, so out of consideration I voted veto.

My initial take on the trade was that it was imbalanced, but I let it go since that's we often do. However, the commentary last night made me realize the initial impression was on target. I've since vetoed the trade.....
