March 7th sounds good to me, too. Best of luck on your wife's recovery!
-
Thanks. She’s recovering and it’s been a humbling experience for sure.
-
Sorry to hear about your wife, I hope she gets better soon!
March 7th works for me.

My wife broke her shoulder 3 weeks ago and had reconstructive surgery, sooooo life is upside down at the moment. I've emailed Salty and OU812, I guess I'll give them until tomorrow to respond before I kick them and then we'll figure out what to do with abandoned squads. I'm eye balling March 7, a Sunday for our draft - go ahead and weigh in on that date etc.
-
Thanks for understanding.

Cut:
G. Sanchez, Perez, Severino, Wong, C. Hernandez, Solano, Hoerner, Mateo, Marte, Dahl, Hays, Moniak, Hendricks, Tanaka, Luchessi, Lester, Fulmer, Jeffries, Wingenter
-
Will do. Thanks! It was an honest mistake. Not trying to get one over on anyone. Just have a ton on my plate right now and was thinking I had until midnight my time(CT).
-
Bums you'll have to send me a note with your changes and I can do it manually. We have 3 squads that haven't renewed - Asdrubal has informed me he's out. I'm waiting to hear from the other 2.
-
Well, I came on to cut my players at 11:12 CT. Evidently the deadline was Eastern Time. I live Central Time zone and did not know this. Can I cut players?
-
Cuts deadline is in about 2 hours. Time to make all of those hard decisions!
-
I'm also open to trades as we approach the keeper deadline. - Jim
-
Let me know what players interest you from my team. Message me the players and I’ll look to see if anything works.
-
Oh, that trade was bad. Cleveland Baseball Team got nothing except Gimenez' defense. My father was a lifelong hapless Indians fan who regularly cursed Frank "Trader" Lane for his terrible deals. Maybe being bad at trading is some sort of twisted sacred Indians tradition.
-
*on my team here. Oh whatever, I'm frustrated. Lol
-
Padres and Mets are looking really fun this year.
-
At least he's still ony team here. :/
-
That wasn't even a great haul for Lindor, either.
-
Sucks man, really does. I'm sorry. MLB is rapidly becoming the NBA for like 70% of the teams.
-
Really sucks to be a Cleveland Baseball fan right now. Or, more accurately, one sincerely considering changing to root for players over teams going forward based on today and the rest of how Cleveland's team chooses to operate.
-
I think Whoppers did not allocate at least $1 to every team and that’s why it rejected. Or there was a glitch. With regard to the rules Bums you understand there is a difference between mechanical rules, system rules and league rules? Because we can do whatever we want in the league, that’s kind of the point of Ottoneu. Anyways moving on, stove it up fellas. And please just do your allocations so I don’t have to do extra work.
-
Yeah, let's move on. Also, did BK Whoppers allocate the entire $25?
-
It’s in the rules:
If a team doesn’t not allocate at least one dollar to every other team, none of their allocations will count, and it will be as if that team did not participate at all.
Let’s move on.
-
Deadline has passed. Again, follow rules already in place. There was plenty of time to make your moves before the deadline. An error could have been detected if done in a timely manner. Just because someone waited until the last minute is not a valid reason to make special arrangements after the deadline. Arbitration is over and no more changes are acceptable.
-
Whopper thanks for getting back. It’s weird because that’s what I saw when we were minutes from the deadline. You can just email your allocations and I’ll submit them manually.
-
I made a point to allocate to all the teams. Maybe I missed one. That wasnt my intent. What can we do to remedy?

Hoping whoppers will check in.

Glad that’s settled. Now let’s turn our cannons on those lazy sons of bitches who didn’t participate. Death to the abstinent!

That's fine with me, like I said I don't have a preference either way and was just throwing an option out there since it seemed like some owners wanted all of the money allocated. I agree we should follow the already defined rules unless all members of the league want to deviate; and it's clear we don't.

Ottoneu is not silent on it. It’s clearly defined in rules. Clearly says a team can not participate at all. I do not accept anything other than defined rules. Move on.
See rules below.
f. If a team does not allocate at least one dollar to every other team, none of their allocations will count and it will be as if they did not participate at all.
g. If a team does not allocate all $25, none of their allocations will count and it will be as if they did not participate at all.
-
If you can still adjust things, why don’t we just have whoppers adjust at least one dollar off a team he had previously given $ to and allocate to the team he didn’t because it seems like that was an honest mistake. Then for the other team that didn’t participate just leave it as is since they didn’t have anything filled in. It’s a hybrid solution that puts $25 more dollars on teams and doesn’t make decisions for the person who didn’t participate.

Your insult to me aside, do what you think is right.
-
It looks like Whoppers only allocated to 10 teams so the system didn't accept it.

Last I checked right before the deadline Whoppers had submitted and he must have rescinded at the last moment.
-
This discussion is about our league rules, Ottoneu is silent on it. I understand active players position is “hey that’s just less inflation on my squad.” This is how most 8 year olds think. But the point of arbitration is to force everyone to deal with the question of planning, rebuilding etc. and isn’t it a bit boring when the best teams are left with the least challenges?
-
I agree with Asdrubal. I’m not in agreement with designated people making moves. Read the rules already in place with Ottoneu, and this is the only acceptable method I will participate with.

When I looked through the results it looks like Burger King’s went through so I’m not sure why it says he didn’t allocate on the first arb results page.

I know Burger King Whoppers had some allocations a few days ago. Maybe he didn’t assign at least $1 to each team so it didn’t accept it. I’m not sure. I’m fine with handling it however you all want to. I don’t have a strong preference.

When this has happened in my other leagues we've done nothing, which I think is the best solution. It's a drag when teams don't participate, but technically everybody else benefits by not having the outstanding arbs. increase their team salary.
-
If we allocate for those teams we could just let them do it now (though Springfield hasn’t logged on or responded to email). Otherwise I might just assign two people since we obviously can’t allocate for ourselves.
-
I think it’s a participate or move on from the league situation in general. It’s pointless to have two teams not participate. However some people are busy and life includes lots of unplanned events and I think we should allow for that. Particularly following the short season it seems important that everyone allocates or we just skip it altogether. I’m inclined to just make assignments on behalf of Whoppers and Springfield but maybe we just dump arb for this year? Open to hearing from everyone.
-
I don’t think anyone should be making arb moves for a team that fails to make arb moves. That’s not what Ottoneu rules have in place. If they miss, then they miss.
-
Couple more days for arb allocations. If anyone fails to complete I will get help from one of you to complete all remaining allocations so we keep it fair
-
I already hate arbitration and we're like 3 teams in. Lol
-
I was kind of impressed that you didn't rage cut him on Sun.
-
So we're clear, I wanted to cut him right now for effect, but rosters are locked. Heh
-
Sergio Romo walks in a run late to give the Astros a lead in game 1 of the wild card. WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS BEFORE? Lol. They should've known better.
-
Congratulations to Zizzers for pulling that out. Thank you everyone for playing hard and making this fun.
