Hi Everyone, looking forward to playing with you guys.
Over half of my team is likely to be cut prior to the draft, if you see anyone you’re interested in at their salary please let me know, otherwise they will most likely be thrown back into the draft. I’m planning to make my cuts by Monday so everyone has enough time to prepare for the draft.

Also, just a quick unrelated public service note, if anyone is interested in wasting even more time on Ottoneu, there is a very active Slack group of at least 750 players that I suspect a number of us are already on. It's helpful/fun and I've learned a lot there over the years. Totally optional, but if anyone is interested let me know and I'll point you to where to request access!

So far I haven’t heard anyone that can’t do the 12th at 6pm EST (unless I’ve missed something which is definitely possible), though I haven't heard from everyone. I’m tentatively planning to go with that but I’ll give everyone another 24 hours to speak up if that doesn’t work?

I added availability on the 3rd thru the 6th. I'll be out of town, but will hopefully have adequate internet. I can do the 12th at 6pm (although it would not be my preference). I'm also fine with a slow draft. I'm also fine with drafting after the Korea games.

I see there is only one person that cant do the 10th. Any way you can make that work treehouse? Sure would uncomplicate a lot of things. We do have to remember that these re-drafts only take an hour or 2 and it only runs long if you need a ton of players like myself.

Another option, we can draft after those two games in Korea since that opens up another week. That skews a little of of advantage or disadvantage to certain teams though, so not ideal either. For now though, can I ask that we please set aside any frustrations so we can try to figure this out? If you haven't let me know about 6pmEST on the 12th, please do so. If you haven't completed or updated the Doodle poll, please do. And if you have thoughts on a slow draft please share.

So far I have feedback from 4 or 5 managers that 6pm EST on the 12th works. I get that this is probably a long-shot though. Otherwise we can try to look at the second half of February, though we currently a short a manager and I'm unfortunately out of town Feb 24-27 as well. Another option ... I've never tried a slow draft, but I've heard good things about them and they allow everyone to participate more on their own time. Not my preference, but I'm open to trying it. Thoughts?

Setting aside any current frustration, I'm looking at this more from the longer perspective that the economics of this game really require 12 active managers to work and keep a league engaging all year. I think it's in all of our best interest that all of us are able to fully participate in the full season, so I'm really hoping we can work out a compromise that works for all 12 of us. The draft is the one piece that we all can't do on our own time and is always the biggest challenge each year.

I gave yeses for 9 of the 16 nominated dates, equal to two other owners and more than two others (including one who is available for only 3/16), so why am I being singled out as if I'm the lone source of the delay? We have a whole month until the date you want. Please be patient and we'll figure it out.

Mate, this isn't your problem to solve. We've all given our dates to the commissioners and I trust they will work something out. If they exhaust all other options and I'm the lone hold out for one particular date, they'll tell me and I'll find a proxy or some other way to make it work. You've been incredibly disrespectful, and yes, I find it offensive that you immediately jump to the conclusion that my presence here is an obstacle when no one has suggested that.

*EVERYONE'S* trying to find a match, but something has to break! BTW, & FWIW, I've been here (I think) 8 years, if we're going to care about activity over time, but if we can't have an honest & reasonable discussion like how we're supposed to accommodate this one unique individual who chose to be here despite the obvious circumstances b/c someone will be offended when we do, then just go ahead and delete me from this league, it's just not worth the energy anymore

Yeah, I wasn't "attacking" anyone, it's a reasonable question.. You can enjoy whatever hobby you like, Dink, but certainly you're aware the obstacles of doing so if it means coordinating schedules w/ people on the other side of the world.. OF COURSE we should *TRY* to accommodate everyone-- but, again, what kind of accommodation is honestly expected here when it comes to one person who himself chose to be here despite obvious obstacles such as scheduling a draft?

Deleted my initial comment because I don't want to get combative. I've been an active member of this league for 3 years now, so all I ask is that you be patient and give me a chance to have my schedule accommodated. You don't know the work I've already put in to maximise my availability, nor the extent of the work our commissioners are putting in behind the scenes to mitigate conflicts. I'm not asking anyone to bend over backwards. Thank you.

Might be a stretch, but would a 6pm EST (3pm PST) start on the 12th work for everyone by chance? I suspect if we have a lot of fellow west coasters like me that might be tough, but I think I could probably make it work if others can?

Why wouldn't we try to accommodate an active manager who's been in the league for over two years? Everyone has a number of days listed they are unavailable and different scheduling needs, his list isn't that much different than most. Coordinating 12 schedules is always hard. I think it's kinda cool that ottoneu draws in players from all over the world. It's been a busy week for me so I haven't been pushing this forward as hard as I'd like, but I'm hoping there's a time that can work for all.

Ok, I'll say it-- is the only reason we can't draft on Tuesday 3/16 because of the one person who is halfway around the world but nevertheless chose to join a league full of owners and for a sport based here in the US, and if so, shouldn't that be a 'him' problem? Why should multiple people be expected to bend for the one person who *must've* known of the inconvenience for his *own* schedule when he signed up with us?

In addition, we had one manager not renew his team. If anyone knows anybody who might be interested in joining the league, Clay Guida's Heart is available to be claimed.

It sounds like we have a team that can't draft on the 16th, so we're back to the drawing board without any days that work for everyone. Can everyone please take another look at their doodle responses and see if there are any other days you can make work? Also please send me a message to let me know how flexible your timing on most days is if we were to consider shifting the start time a little earlier or later?

Also, if you are currently a 'no' for one of those three days we are close on (11th, 12th, 16th), but could do it if we shifted the start time slightly, please send me a message? Realistically I would guess it's unlikely it could be shifted significantly, but maybe it's possible a slight move could be possible if that would get us to full availability? As I'm thinking about it I think last year we ended up drafting later at like 10pm EST to make it work as an example

To echo Hell and Back, please be as flexible as possible with your poll feedback. Please if there are other days you can make work add them! #1 priority is just finding a day that everyone can make work if needed. If somehow we end up with multiple days everyone can make work then we can take a vote on preferences/convenience, but so far we don’t currently even have a single day everyone has said they can make work so we’re putting the cart before horse talking about preferring Tuesdays/etc!
