Also, the last time I did one of these we were starting a brand new league. I see now that 3 nominations per team is probably way too many since we are only drafting a total of 190 players. I am going to change this to 2

Alright, uploading the rosters was very easy, I think we are set to go. Here are the rules again even though SPH I think already explained them better than I will. Each team can nominate up to 3 players at a time. Once nominated, each player is on the block for 24 hours. Once we are inside of 12 hours, any time that player gets a new high bid, the clock resets to 12 hours. Once one of your players that was nominated is sold off, you can nominate another player (with a max of 3)

Ok I think I was able to pause it. I should be able to upload the keepers tonight (it would not let me start until everyone had joined). We can get started tomorrow morning

PH, yes existing rosters need to be uploaded. Coco, if you need help with that let me know. Never done it and don't know how hard it is but can help if necessary.

RIDIC, have you done a Couch Managers draft before? If not I can answer questions in addition to the "tutorial" I listed below. Let me know, but the principles are the same as a regular draft, only there will be up to 36 guys out there to bid on and they'll be out there at least initially for 24 hours. Good luck all!

Actually, that doesn't explain it completely so here's the basics: When everyone is logged in, we can start nominating players to auction, just like a regular auction. The difference is that each player will first be "on the clock" for 24 hours instead of 15 seconds. Whenever someone outbids someone for a player, their clock restarts, but only if it's under 8 hours until expiration. When a player's time reaches 0, the owner who bid the most wins that player. OK - I set up a draft, I think everyone needs to go to the league page and sign into the draft

Once you have created an account, you should see on the right side of the draft landing page a table that shows team $$ and roster spots available. There should be a hyperlink that says "join". Click on that hyperlink, it will ask you for a password, which is "ottoneu" (no quotation marks). Then type

In my other league, we're doing a penalty where if someone makes a bid while they have all their nominations, the bid is nullified. This helps to prevent what Gator called out. Any pauses for baby emergencies is cool with me. Good luck with everthing Strangers!

Alright, looks like we are good to go on couch managers then. I will work on setting it up and if there are any key decisions we need to make I will post to the league for tips but in the interest of time might make some executive decisions. Will aim to get kicked off on Friday.
And Strangers - happy to pause the draft for a couple of days while you are in the hospital.

Done many a CM so fine with me, quite enjoy them - tip we need to agree an end game to ensure, like in an otto draft, people keep using their nominations rather than waiting and sniping others, it can be used strategically towards dollar days, if your new to CM that may not all make sense

I'm doing couch managers now and it's super convenient. The only issue was didn't someone say they're going to be away from a computer for 2-3 days or am I thinking of another league? As long as people are near their phones and have internet access, you can make bids that way.

For the uninitiated, CM lets you nominate 3 players at a time, then everyone has up to 24 hours to place a bid, after that, the highest bid stands for up to 8 or 12 hours, and if nobody bids higher in that timeframe, then the winning team gets the player and another player can be nominated. Proceed until everyone is drafted. I can pause the draft while TS is in the hospital, though he will have an unfair advantage sneaking in bids at 3 AM during week 1 and 2 of fatherhood :)

I am 100% on board with doing a couchmanagers draft. Weekdays (and Sunday) are difficult as House Felix is +16 hours from EST, so anything on a weeknight is going to be in the middle of his workday. What does everyone think about couchmanagers? If no strong objections we could get kicked off this week.

Unfortunately 4/2 is a hard no for me. Traveling coast-to-coast with my family and wont have internet. I can make any evening this week work or any time Sunday 4/3 if any of those alternatives are options for others. Congrats TS!!

Now it looks like April 2nd might be the best day, except for Rob M, given baby situations (you breeders really are a buzz kill in fantasy basell ;)). Rob, is April 2 a hard no? If so we could also explore the SUN-THU options if the FRI/SAT ones don't work. I know we've got an international time zone obstacle with one or more of us, too, right? A tough needle to thread. Couch manager drafts were made for leagues like this.

Welcome Nimmo!. I can also draft Friday, but I was wondering if it would be possible to start 30 minutes earlier, because I also have to leave early. My wife and I have tickets to see Wicked this Friday and I can't exactly miss that (and also still have a wife at the end of the night, HAHA). If not, I get it, but thought I would throw that out there.

Echo that. Welcome NB! I can make this Friday work - which has the most votes (will have to cut out a little early for my daughter's bday party), but I cant make 3/19 (guests flying in that day) or 4/2 (traveling cross country from my parents). I could also do any time Sunday 4/3.

Speaking of the draft, it looks like Mar-18 is the best day with Mar-19 @7 and Apr 2 @7 being tied for second. I also noticed that I don't think RIDIC had submitted. Have moods softened and do we still have 12 teams? It would be too bad to not have RIDIC on board. Plus it's the 14th already so we really need to know where we stand.

Also, great news, the season is surprisingly on! I have created a doodle to align on a draft time. I have limited the times to Friday and Saturday night (EST) and Saturday afternoon (EST) to align with Felix's availability. Felix, if you have more availability than this, please let me know and I will add some alternative times. Please fill out ASAP so we can align on a date, we only have a few weekends before opening day!
