Mar 18-19 is the first series of games. Then 'Opening Day' on Mar 27. We will shoot for the first few weeks of March for a draft - does anyone have any specific dates or days of the week that do not work for them?
-
No objection

Happy Post-Thanksgiving. Any appetite for setting the draft date/time sooner rather than later?

Clay Pigeons check messages, Bobby’s team is without an owner now so we can add your guy
-
I’m sorry to see Bobby go! I do have a potential replacement in the wings. LMK when the team is available to claim and he’ll grab it.

Hi fellow owners. I appreciate being able to join this season but I am going to give up Bobby’s Cox for next season. Thanks for an educational indoctrination into fantasy sports.

Shout out to Clay and Winged for immediately injecting more energy and passion into an already thriving Centaurs league. I expect Clay to respond to his fanbases’ calls for the guillotine by shipping off several of his best assets to Dotel Nation for fringy prospects. (Exactly what every fanbase wants, right?) Excited to light up your squads with arb dollars in a few weeks — especially yours, Matt (Kokomo).
-
As a reminder, arb will take place from Oct 15th to Nov 15th. Please let me know if you do not intend to stay in the league so we can try to find a replacement if necessary - although really hoping for some continuity!
-
I tried so very hard to hit 1,250 innings and am deeply ashamed for having missed. 2025 will be different! (dont quote me on this)
-
A spokesman for the ream that clung on to third by their fingertips said “thems the rules”. I enjoyed CPs rant. I look forward to next year already.

A spokesman for the embattled executive lamely explained Lee thought that after the teams that failed to meet the innings threshold were eliminated, the remaining teams would “move up” and claim those points. Thus, when it came to the WHIP point Lee gambled on Friday, “he thought he was playing with house money.” Speaking to reporters outside his probation office later that day, the spokesman added, “The real focus should be these shameful teams who can’t pitch enough innings. They’re a disgrace

PIGEONS FANS WANT ANSWERS AND/OR BLOOD
After finishing a single point out of the money, Clay Pigeon fans want an explanation. A complaint filed today in federal court includes the charge,“the idiot could have clinched a tie for third but instead starts Nola for no reason on Friday.”
The idiot named in the charge is Pigeon GM Chris Lee, whose only public comment, issued Tuesday morning, while fleeing a mob, was “who knew baseball rules could be so complicated? Who knew?”

Thanks so much everyone! This is a super competitive and talented league and has been for years so it means a lot to finally win it solo. I'm looking forward to the $36 added to my roster in the off season.

Congratulations Kokomo.

I think my team is just hot, the bottom will certainly fall out soon

Don’t fret Mr. Pigeon. I have a feeling that my pitching staff, last in the league, is about to turn it all around.

I'm counting on Bobby's Cox to keep Kokomo from 12s across all categories...embarassing!

Hi leaguefolk, I just cut the wrong Ezequiel by mistake. Have asked the commish if he can fix.

You cornered the market on them. The Ezeqiuel stack is well known in the dfs community

Go Clay Pigeons! The only team with two Ezeqiuels.

That worked! For those who run into same issue on Chrome, Safari works fine and incognito mode worked on Chrome. I'm using Safari just in case it craps out on Chrome at some point mid draft
-
If you’re on Chrome and the auction page won’t open, see https://community.ottoneu.com/t/baseball-draft-room-giving-error-communicating-with-server-message/14074 or just use Safari.

Anyone else try to get in to the auction draft? Tried getting in and it says "error communicating with the server"
-
Team B runs into cap trouble, so he cuts Hoskins. Now Team B has an $8 penalty (50% of $15 rounded up). Hoskins goes to waivers, Team C has the space and thinks Hoskins is a good deal so he claims him. Now Team B doesn't have a cap penalty, and Team C takes over Hoskins at $15.
-
Practical Example- Rhy Hoskins is $26. One week before the season he tears his knee and will be OFS. Team A cuts him and gets a $13 cap penalty, but now has $13 free. He clears waivers, so Team A still has that $13 penalty. Team B sees a $13 Hoskins as a good price for next season, so he starts an auction and wins it with a bid of $15. Team A no longer has a cap penalty- now he has $13 more in cap space freed up.
-
If no one picks the player up or starts a new auction for that player, the cutting team still has that cap hit. They are unable to start an auction for that player, or bid in an existing auction for that player, for 30 days.
-
Once that auction is done, the original cutting team no longer has that salary cap hit.
-
After the draft, if you cut a player you get a salary cap hit of 50% rounded up; i.e. you cut a $4 player he counts $2 against the cap, a $5 player is a $3 cap hit. If another player picks him up via waivers, the new team takes on the whole salary (so $4 or $5) and the team that cut him doesn't get a cap hit. If that player passes waivers after 24hrs, any team besides the one that cut the player can start an auction and bid on the player (that player's minimum salary is the 50%).
-
I read the rules but don't really get the post-draft process about cutting guys. Sounds like you get half the salary back but then there's a way to get the rest back that is related to some waiver pickup process? Could someone explain? Thanks, the pigeons
