Geeze he must’ve really hated that last trade offer I made.

Cheesy has informed me that he would not like to be in this league and to abandon his squad
-

Nice! Welcome back! It hasn't been quite as hectic here since Nippon left, so I wouldn't expect 6 trade proposals waiting for you each day.

I've got some trading to do. Tons of massive names available. Looking to shed my salary obligation- mostly looking for younger, cheaper MLB talent. Come get some winners.
-
Farmer's Market, Nosotros Papayas, and Starting Nine on the DL- could you please indicate to me that you will complete arbitration by November 14 (the deadline)? Thanks.
-
Just a public service announcement since I missed this last year when I got busy.
Arbitration has now opened.

Congrats Fake History, heck of a year and a second half.

Thank you, thank you. What's also nice to see is so many teams over 17000 points. That goes a long way for a competitive season!

Amen. Great second half especially

Congratulations to Fake History on an outstanding season.

Hoskins is avail for a comparable middle infielder.

Highly motivated seller. Machado, Murphy, Maeda, and lots of other guys whose names don’t start with M.

Sad to hear about Rob.
If anyone is interested I'd highly recommend looking up some of his work. He did a lot of valuable statistical work that helped underpin a lot of great baseball articles over the years.
-
Thanks for sharing that.
-
Mention of Rob on the podcast starts at around 1:27:00.

Very sad to hear about Rob. He seemed like a nice guy. Here's a link to the Effectively Wild podcast which paid tribute to Rob. Apparently, he was a noted statistician at Baseball Prospectus.

I’ve been made aware that the owners of Farmer’s Market has passed away a few weeks ago. The team is going to be marked abandoned. His name was Rob. He was a Cubs fan from Springfield.
-
It's a guaranteed contract, so he gets paid. Angels probably insured for the loss.

Honest question: does anyone know if a major league team continues to pay a players salary after he passes?
-
Obviously I'm a bit biased since I just traded for him a couple of weeks ago, but if keeping it a normal cut is more consistent with what's been done in the past then let's go with that. I've got plenty of cap space so I don't mind either way really.

An in-season death or retirement is obviously different than an injury, and it just makes more sense to afford it special consideration. But either way we're only talking $5.
-
That person will be me then
-
You’re right. There were six games left in the season. As I said, if one owner objects we can keep it as a regular cut.
-
Fernandez happened during the regular season. Remember Dee Gordon's leadoff homer the next game wearing the number 16?
