Do we have any idea how long we are going to go for tonight? Probably be a good idea to get something established before we get started. The 6-hours is a very low estimate. Just did one last night which went 9+

cont... stuff like that then its easy to change. also i thought it might be a good idea if everyone gives a little bio about themselves (where from, occupation/school, fantasy history, how you got here) and stuff like that it might make it a little

I don't have a problem with that - though that 7pm has to be PST for Ichi-roll if I recall correctly. No big deal, we'll just have to go a bit late.
-
As long as we can do a good portion of the draft on the 27th (hopefully at least half) I have no issue finishing over the following few days
-
Can't start until the evening of the 27th, how about live draft 7pm march 27, then followups if we need them
-
Remember, we don't need to fill all 40 spots.

Is there anyone who couldn't do a series of live drafts beginning Sunday, March 27th? Then follow-ups on the following Monday, Tuesday and (if needed) Wednesday?

Jeez. So we basically have a 2 night window if Ichi-roll is going to be involved and we want to get all drafted before opening day. I'd say its pretty much impossible when half of March is off the table.
-
Nah, I wont be able to draft from the 19th until the 27th. I'll be out of town on business. I'm all for starting with a live draft, we just wouldnt be able to start it until the 27th.
-
...session the following Sunday, March 27th as we've been discussing.
-
That said: Ichi-roll, you said you wouldn't be able to draft on the 20th until 7 or 8. If we start the draft on Sunday, March 20th at 9PM EST would everyone be able to make it? Then we could either switch to e-bay style or wrap up with a second...
-
(con't) ...up with one of those players. It seems like it would be better to start with a live draft and fill out the remaining spots with the ebay style draft.
-
My fear with starting out with a ebay style auction is general player selection. It's my impression that multiple players are put up at once. If that's the case, I'm willing to bid (for example) on Pujols, Votto, and Cabrera...but I only want to wind...
-
Lets get this ebay style auction started now and plan a live auction on the 27th. That way, we get some thing going and our live draft wont be so long.
-
Whatever we decide is fine with me. I really don't have a preference.
-
im incharge of all the commisioner stuff i can set the date and all that stuff. i just need some sort of consensus before we pick one

For the record: I'd prefer a live auction broken up and can do Mon-Fri evenings and weekends (except March 26th). I wouldn't balk at the e-bay auction draft though.
-
any night mon-fri or any weekend is good for me an i would prefer a live auction draft, even if we need to pause it
-
I'm going to get an e-mail put together so we can make sure we have everyone rather than relying on them to come here to get caught up.
-
They say it is possibe we just have to come up with a time that actually may work. Who is in charge of setting the draft time/ putting up players for the "ebay style"?
-
Would it be possible to combine the two methods? Have a larger draft session then some smaller follow-up sessions?
-
Ok, the ebay-auction format seems good to me, let's get started soon since it might take a while. Who decides which players are up for auction?
-
Right, it would be $1 + the second highest bid just like ebay.
-
Sorry for my ignorance - but does that mean the high bid wins by $1 over the next highest bid? Or do they simply win with their bid?
-
I am for doing the ebay-like format and think we should start ASAP.
-
the "little bit each day" format is similar to ebay where you place a maximum bid and once the auction time expires the team with the highest bid wins the auction. It means we dont all have to be here and just submit bids as we have time
-
Hey everyone - I'm glad to be a part of the league. Reading through the messages, how about we draft for a long(er) session Sunday evening March 27th, going as long as we can. Then we finish on the following Monday and Tuesday evenings?

I like the "little bit each day" format. I'd be willing to start this as soon as possible.
-
if we do it on a bunch of different days, everyone will need to be here on 10 separate days at the same time. . .very hard to coordinate
