Cap compliant and looking to make trades. Primarily looking at second base and catcher, let me know if you want to talk.
-
I have some available cap space. Feel free to make me an offer if you are looking to dump salary.
-
Trade talk has been hot and active lately. Love it. Let's keep it going.
-
Speaking of trades, any interest in Lucas Duda?
-
I will admit that I basically forgot about the draft. I apologize for this and am watching. I will be active and am (obviously) willing to trade and converse about the league.
-
All I was doing was asking a question about the notes on a trade. I think the trade is bad but who knows what will happen over the next few years, Hader might end up being a stud and Dahl might be a turd. It was simple question regarding the notes and I have no regrets for asking the question. If I wrote that in my notes section I would hope someone would bring it up. Consider the issue closed on my end.

I talked to Toby & he can weigh in later but this sounds like it got blown out of proportion IMO but it brought to light a bigger issue which is a lot of people aren't really paying attention bc the league is for so little. so far I think we have 5 out of 5 votes to raise the price and those who haven't voted have said they don't pay attention bc its not worth it. this league, set-up and the people in it are all great and if everyone participates itll be even better. no one will like eve
-
Completely fair point. When this first got brought up that's what I mentioned and it has since been put to a vote, if you want to submit yours. The vote is whether or not to raise the league to $50 this year. I don't like the trade personally but im of the opinion that people are free to do what they want to with their team. the issue Balking Dead had was that you said your own trade was lopsided. as for the personal stuff hope everything is ok. this is supposed to be fun and a distraction
-
I didn't get back to anyone during the winter because I was, and still am, going through a lot of crap and I forgot about it.
I honestly only saw one trade offer. I only remember one.
All I want is honesty. If the trade is bad for the league then let's veto it out. I may veto the thing myself at this point.
However if the game was for more money then trades like it won't happen.
-
And Steve I don't tweet, I howl at the moon with a six pack in hand after a night of heavy drinking. If Josh Hader can hear that, then I'll be happy to oblige you both
-
Also just out of curiosity's sake, because this will make an interesting point if your answer is what I think it is, what was so lopsided about the diaz/bumgarner trade? it was on average 225 ip of an elite sp for 55 ip of an elite rp and both are not far from their average price. I just had too many high priced players and needed to get rid of one. shopped him, correa and sale to a lot of teams (including you, but you didn't respond)
-
The issue Toby had was why if it was lopsided did you ask for a small loan that will disappear after the year and not different or extra players or seek out a better trade? I know I was sending you messages and offers all winter for dahl and others without any responses. Steve told me he sent you different offers too and you went with an offer you didn't like it seemed like from your note. I personally dont care about the trade itself. we all make bad ones, I gave you Rizzo for a pile of crap
-
Agreed. The criticism is misplaced and has a chilling effect on trades down the line. To this point there's been lots of trades in this league which is one reason it's fun. You can complain about trades, but if you do I hope all yours appear equal on both sides to everyone in the league.

Don't forget my Gary Sanchez-for Feliz doozy. You all can kick me in the nuts for that one lol.
-
Also, why did nobody say anything about the Edwin Diaz and Madison Bumgarner trade back in Feb? That one is way more lopsided than mine was.

What's the big problem with my trade? No player is a sure thing. I put in a back-up in case he did turn out good. Plus I have spare OF. There is a veto system in place. I also made the trade because Hader could be the real deal as well. He isn't exactly a sloppy prospect either. I've had worse trade props. The kind where they want my best for their old and worst.
-
I tweeted David Dahl to let him know of the trouble he's caused us all. Adam, you should reach out to Josh Hader and let him know that you think he's garbage. I won't do it.

As for the trade Ive talked to steve and Toby and just to clarify, the issue he had thats being lost isnt with the trade itself, its with the note that longrod said it was unfair and he oddly wanted $5 to "even" it out. Its a bizarre request no doubt. no one thinks its a good trade including the guy who made it apparently lol. the issue toby had is why make a deal you don't think is fair? its valid and the one person who could clarify it isnt speaking up. its being blown a bit out of
-
I vote yes for money increase. are we thinking this year, or next year?
-
Tick tock Adam, Opening Day is tomorrow
-
I'll make my cuts when I'm good and ready. and I was just joking lol, at least someone got it. just a little self deprecating humor at my fuck up. Also I vote yes to raising the league dues to $50
-
I'm down for $50. Regardless of what dues are tho, I think they should be collected before the draft going forward. Nobody wants to pay up when they're out of it. I also think it's best to make new owners pay their entry before they make trades, seen to many owners blow up a team then leave in other leagues.

This is ridiculous. I've received terrible trades from a ton of folks. Hell, I've even proposed terrible trades. Everyone is different, don't cause them to second guess themselves because of jealousy. Disagree. Good trade, Steve. I think it works for both.
-
And Adam: You had all offseason to address your situation. No whining.
-
Yes to $50

Trade thoughts: I think a lot of Dahl's value lies in playing in Coors. If he was dealt (not that it's likely), his value drops. Can be said for any player, but I feel like he's LeMaheieu (sp?)-like in that if he were anywhere else his value might not be Ottoneau worthy. Hader's stats last year are treated as totally moot by industry peeps, he's a potential Sale his tools are loud and the stats are coming from a ballpark that's a hitter's paradise. This can be spun to look more even than it is.
-
I vote yes on raising to $50
-
If people are down for 50 I'm fine with that. Let me know what your votes are. As for the trade, veto if you want but drumming up opposition is shitty. There will be worse trades.

The solution is up to $50, which most people said was ok during the draft. Hopefully this makes owners pay attention and actually accept/reject trades in a few days instead of few weeks or even a few months. Bad trades are obviously going to happen but it's kind of screwed up to think it's a bad trade and still accept it. The 5$ doesn't real make difference.

I don't get the violin comment, the first part was a joke, the last part was an honest question. Are we doing anything about the league dues? I know there has been a lot of talk about it and a couple people told me there was a majority vote during the draft so just curious if we are doing it or not. That's what happened with the scoring change. You shouldn't be so evasive about this, you just made the most lopsided trade! (and for the record one trade seems to have been vetoed the first year)
-
World's smallest violin, Adam.

It's prospect for prospect. I agree that Dahl is better but there's been way worse trades. Veto if you will but this would be the first in the history of the league.

Stop trying to convince the people not to veto your shit trade Steve Barnett, Attorney at Law. Toby is right, $5 doesn't make it go from lopsided to fair, I'm vetoing! Oh wait, I can't, my team is still not in a valid state lol. Now about this $20 league, what is this I hear about a vote at the draft (again that I couldnt attend bc my team isnt in a valid state... thank terry, the tease to end all teases) to change that? We doing it? Maybe then people would take it a little more seriously
-
$5 doesn't make it a fair deal. You send out to vote I am pretty sure majority says it's a shit deal. I honestly don't care that much because it's a 20 dollar league. Just was asking a question.

He thought Dahl for Hader straight was lopsided, not the trade we made. He's liked Hader for awhile.

I wouldn't of said a word but the notes make it tad odd. Who makes a trade and says it's lopsided in the notes.

Dahl is a guy with < 50 games to his name. I like the trade for me, that's why I made it, but not sure it deserves an audit.
