I was willing to give up some players, but as Fly mentioned non one he wanted to keep. I liked the price point for Dee and was happy to take him. If the league doesn't like this sort of trade I understand the veto.

No worries from me. If each owner had a strategic reason for it, I'm fine with it. I know Frank from Fly Eli's is a thoughtful owner and I'm fine with allowing him to run his team as he sees fit.

Sorry guys. I wasn't going to keep Gordon, at this point we can't trade with the intention to drop, and I hadn't gotten any offers for him that included players I'd want to keep. If that's uncool, please veto it, I didn't mean any harm. Also, anyone interested in Headley?

As far as I know, everyone has been active. Boilermakers is correct in that a new owner would get a free round of cuts upon taking over a new team.

I'm not too passionate about the rule-but agree with everyone about needing to know the dates and if you don't, that's your own fault. Regarding activity, if someone doesn't make cuts in time and is over cap, they can be booted and (if I'm not mistaken) a replacement manager can make a round of free cuts.

I like Theo's way better, seems like a counteroffer excluding the to-be-cut player would solve the issue without added complexity

I don't think the rule is necessary, if the manager doesn't intend to keep the player in the trade they should just counter the offer with the to be cut player out of the deal at this point.

Maybe that was confusing. I meant announcing cuts by the keeper deadline. So if you make a trade the 30th or 31st and it won't go through until after the keeper deadline, I'd favor allowing cuts without penalty that are announced on the message board prior to the keeper deadline.

The only downside of that idea seems to be that it gives traders the extra advantage of being able to see everyone else's cuts before making their decision. I'd be completely in favor if those who trade before the deadline are required to declare their cuts on the message board by the trade deadline. Seems like that allows a trade to happen on the 30th or 31st, while still keeping a level playing field on cuts. Does that make sense?

I heard an idea regarding the upcoming keeper deadline that I thought was interesting enough to entertain. What do y'all think about making it so if a trade is made within 2 days of the deadline, the owners can ask the commissioner to cut without penalty any players they do not want to keep from the trade?
