Is that owner no longer in the league? I don't really mind it I guess, also wouldn't be opposed to changing it if we could come up with something good. Are there many in this league in the Pacific Northwest?
-
The league founder was from Vashon Island. That's where a nice coastal park called Lisabuela is. Any preference for league name? Keep it original, or an other one.
-
I think it was Giolito's spin rate on his fastball that dropped last year. Pitchers recover that, right?
-
I know the players on my trade block aren’t great, but any contender could use players like France, Cron, Giolito throughout the year. They can all be had cheaply. I’m doing a rebuild, so they aren’t what my roster needs.
-
I have a logjam at 1B and am looking to deal Matt Mervis before the cut deadline. Hit me up with an offer if you are interested.
-
He pitched twenty games eighty innings in 2021. Should be on pitching side of the roster.
-
If he slots into the rotation by spring I would guess Niv pushes the change to pitcher. Looks like he was ridiculous in four games last year.
-
Nothing to be concerned about, it's just a technicality. He was injured and only pitched in 4 games last year so he didn't meet the minimum games played requirement of starting 5 games as a pitcher. Once he starts pitching again he will get his pitching eligibility back.
-
Should I be concerned that Daniel Espino is listed as "utility," and in my "positional" players instead of "pitchers?" How do I fix this?
-
Happy New Year everybody! This is the last month for trading or dropping players. Afterward rosters lock until the draft, which is usually one week prior to opening day. In addition to finalizing keepers, remember to renew your league membership by Jan. 31.
-
Gerrit Cole needs a new team. A rebuilding, long-shot team like mine does not need a $36 SP. but any team looking to contend definitely needs an SP1, and Cole’s auction price would be way above $36. Everybody knows if Cole were going for $40 in the draft you would clink “bid now”. No denying Cole is a bargain. It is just a question of which contender wants him.
-
Yep definitely still playing here as well and open for trade discussions. We could use a little livening up, let's get that hot stove warmed up!
-
Still playing!

Also looking to totally read-do the team so nobody is “off limits”.
-
I’m planning to cut Seiya Suzuki and Ian Happ, so if you want them I’d take any player I could keep, with even $1 of excess value.
-
Are people still playing? I know it’s off season, but this league seems so much less active than most.
-
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 If anyone has some down time and wants to talk trades let me know!
-
Thanks to everyone for allocating!

Last day for arbitration.
Wyld Stallyns is available for a new manager.
-
I hope Oaks will return to defend the title, too, and everyone else competes again next year. Even if you are not planning on coming back, please participate in arbitration, starting Oct. 15! And in the meantime, enjoy the playoffs
-
I'll join in on the congratulations to the Oaks, who had a fabulous team this season. It will be tough to knock the Oaks off next season, but I hope we are up to the challenge.
-
Thank you, had a great time in this league this year and appreciate you all! Seems like we have a good bunch of owners here and am happy to have been a part of it this year.
-
Congrats Iowa and everyone on a great season!

I think it’s safe to say ¡Congratulations to Iowa Oaks!
-
I would love to pretend that I still have a shot but 700+ points is a lot to make up in a week. At the beginning of September I was still holding out hope that your team might slump and my team might get red hot but that never happened. It was a fun season and look forward to trying to win it again next season.
-
Yeah it's been a good, fun year. Not counting Sabo out yet, his rates are better than mine, just a matter of whether there's enough games remaining to pull it out.
-
Only a week to go. Would be a monumental run for Sabos to outpace Iowa +100 pts a day. And there is the same distance to the next spot in the standings. Good season guys
-
Yeah the rosters section of the rules states: "The lineups page and roster organizer for non-head-to-head leagues allows for 2 catchers for platooning purposes; Ottoneu is not a 2-catcher game". It's harder to meet the 162 games cap at C than any other position due to so few catchers even starting 110-120 games a year so by having 2 slots it makes it more feasible to hit your cap by being able to start two a day some days.
-
The extra slot for catcher helps fantasy managers reach the 162 game limit. Currently, six catchers are on track for a full season of plate appearances--Ruiz and Contreras are among that group. Last year only two qualified. Compare that to 20 or so players available at other positions.
-
Why is there a 162 game cap on Catchers when there are 2 of them? This is punishing people who find quality everyday contributors at the position which doesn’t really make sense to me.

I saw Kerry Carpenter last week at the Iowa Cubs game. I'm no scout but he looked really good. Made a lot of solid contact.
-
I agree it is more likely he will be dropped before reaching mlb, but if he continues hitting high a ball as an 18 yo, I will keep him through the offseason. That level talent is scarce and $8 is similar to bids on 18 yo Roberts ($7), Soto ($10), and Franco ($10). Or, 19 yo Acuna ($6). I dont think he stays in the conversation. But there is little risk in wasting a few dollars to see. And I may net a Ryon Healy-type by way of trade, like 19 yo Tatis Jr. in this league.
-
I think you could squint and see him making it in 2 years if things go right. Likely finishes out the year at A+, if he starts 2023 at AA and makes it close to AAA by end of 2023 I could see him starting 2024 at AAA and then once his service time is manipulated getting called up in 2024. A lot would have to go right though.
-
Chourio will be cut this off season. He is 3 years from the majors. Will Ottoneu even exist in 3 years?
-
I did not think he would hit when I watched video but he definitely had interesting buzz at allstar break.
-
Superstar potential. I’m bummed I missed out!

Wow, Chourio will be a $9 A+ player in 2023, did not see that coming!
-
Castellanos is right on the line as a cut. I’ve never been a big fan, but he has posted some very good seasons. Is there any interest in him?
-
I’m planning to cut several players including some higher-$ guys like Castellanos, Chapman. I assume they are clear cuts but I don’t want to be a new-guy who makes immediate moves that disrupt anything. I’ll wait a day or so for offers. I’m guessing h everyone can anticipate which players are likely cuts.
-
Welcome, Cheers to making a run in 2023. You have a lot of interesting pieces (minus Chapman at $18 lol) so good luck the rest of the season and into the next!

I took over the vacant team, and I’ll do my best to make it competitive. It’s too late for me to make a 2022 run, so I’ll look to build a viable 2023 team. Please send trade offers if you see deals that work - I don’t get offended by offers, even if they are lopsided. I tend to look for prospects at least at AA, not so much at anyone more than a year from MLB. But I’m open to ideas.

LaRussa's Bombers is available
-
Zombie Larussa puts 183 on the board
-
Yeah that’s a long period of inactivity right in the middle of Summer. Are you able to email him? Maybe try an email this week and if no response send another one next week? I would think by early to mid August we should either hear something or it might be safe to abandon if someone has been absent for over a month and a half. Will be easier to fill the opening in August rather than November when there will be more abandoned teams.
-
A month absence from Larussa is concerning, and his team has good hitters I would like to have on my roster. Hopefully Sox fan is in good health and only gave up on his team here. Any opinions on the timeline for finding a new manager? I am concerned that a manager be in place to vote during postseason arbitration. Good luck on second half. Someone catch the leader!
-
Xander and Diaz are really good pickups, should be a good race this summer!
-
👀excited for this back 9 now

Yeah that's always frustrating! Feels like I make a lot of incorrect lineup decisions like that
-
Me this morning: Starting Javier against the Yankees seems like a bad idea. They're an outstanding offense and I have innings limits to worry about.
Me after checking the box score this afternoon: G-d dammit.
-
welcome aquafog good luck. thanks for coming in mid season
