Nah you're fine. You can also change your allocations up to Nov. 14. Good reminder to the league though - don't forget to get your arb. dollars in. It's important in keeping the league competitive to have nearly everyone participate.
-
This was my first Arbitration. Last year I purchased my team after arbitration had already taken place.
DID I MAKE A MISTAKE BY MAKING MY PICKS TOO EARLY?
-
Hi everyone. Glad to be here. I was looking for a third team because I'm a glutton for punishment and this looked like a very active league. Can't wait to get started messing up what looks to be a pretty decent team.

Hi Everyone.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
I'm looking at my team.
I have no prospects and have plenty of salary to dump.
So if you see any trades you'd like to explore.
Drop me a line.
-
Hi everyone. I want to thank you all for letting me play with you. I wanted to give this a try but realized early on that i do not have the time to commit to another league. I am resigning my position. You were a great group and i wish you all the best.

Yes, congrats to Next Year on his Last Year owning this league...maybe...ok probably not. Thanks everyone for an active year. I think we're trending to a place where a lot of teams are exiting their rebuilds so next season should be a good one. And fare thee well to Mr. Shizz, one helluva fantasy baseballer.
-
Just wanted to say congrats to Next Year. Gave it a go, but came after the king and missed. Never a good idea. Wish you all luck next year, but I don’t think the Kings crown will be taken away for a long awhile. For the most part this was a fun league. Most of the owners were great. Better than expected for a no reward league. Best of luck all!

A heads up here on some planned housekeeping after the season. It appears that stat accruals for SPs/RPs are supposed to be tracked manually (no thanks). So we plan to propose that all 10 daily roster spots are simply P. We are also going to be proposing a CI spot, partly in the name of symmetry because we have an MI spot (the UTIL spot will remain). We figured this should be explained now because it could influence roster moves. The changes will be subject to a majority vote.

Looking to trade Marcus Stroman for future value. Any interest in him?

Thanks for stepping up guys. I look forward to your administration.

Ok here it is. Bring Back Palffy (seriously, bring him back) and It Would Take a Miracle are your new co-commissioners. This is a cool league with a core group of savvy players, and it's pretty remarkable that a roto dynasty league with no prizes can generate constant engagement throughout the entire calendar year. Let's keep it going! On the recent controversy, I am not likely to get involved in a deal that involves engaged owners acting in their own perceived best interests.
-
I have a message into It Would Take a Miracle. We'll let everyone know when it's sorted out.
-
I could be a co-commissioner if needed. I could take the entire thing too if needed. Not sure how much effort is required for this league. I am the commissioner of a few fantasy leagues and have been for years. A bit reluctant to fully take on another right now though.
-
Thx for stepping up Plaffy.
-
Alright everyone. Circle up. Take a knee. It sounds like nobody has expressed interest in the commissioner's position. I'd like to volunteer. I'd prefer someone with organizational skills/FF baseball expertise, but I think we should make a transition now rather than dragging this out. So if you're keen on doing it, then by all means step in front of me. Otherwise, my petition is in. Now break it up and hit the cages.
-
Who says I didn't try to get more from him but was shot down? I tried to get your expensive closer forever but was told repeatedly that there is so much value with him because he was safe. Everyone sees value and how it will help them differently. I just assumed if you weren't sticking around you would be gone. Maybe that was my mistake in assuming that.
-
Dismissing the expectation that a trade of a top-25 hitter talent at a keepable price be shopped to the league as "ridiculous" is not much of an argument. Most teams would have surely offered you much more. The problem is that these trades (whatever the intent) have long-term effects on balance and harm trust in the league's fairness. It's just not reasonable to expect people to invest money, time, and a long-term commitment to leagues where that trust has been eroded.

Thanks I guess. Still think it was a ridiculous take but I am very much a “to each their own” kind of guy. Thanks for taking the commish duties over hopefully when you abandon your team soon the league gets a new owner in that can start their own version of a rebuild. Adios
-
Alright, I talked to Niv, to make things easier, whoever decides to become commissioner let me know and I'll transfer it directly. If no one comes forward by the end of the season, the league will go to no commissioner and whoever eventually decides to do it just email Niv at help@ottoneu.com and he'll make you commissioner.

Attempting to win a championship this season at all costs is not acting in bad faith.
Just as a team selling off their few current assets to acquire pieces for the future is not acting in bad faith.
Nor is anything in between those extremes bad faith.
We all paid the league fee. And we can all decide how to operate our teams. Whether we plan to play for 10 more years or walk away after this season.

Alright, I just relinquished the commissionership. Someone who's motivated can take it up. I won't be continuing in this league after the season.

I have an obligation to try and win and not cheat. I check both boxes. My mistake on the power. Thought you could veto it. Guess the majority will speak. I’m fine with whatever the decision. But for the record, even if I was staying, going all in has a price. Even if it hurts the following year. I don’t want sit on my hands. I did, and will continue to do whatever I need to do to win. There are far worse things than an over active owner selling out to win it this year.
-
And I don't have the power to veto. It requires a majority decision.

Trashing a team's future value because you won't be around for consequences is the definition of bad faith. I don't know what else to say. You have an obligation to not act in bad faith.

Veto is for trades done not in good faith. Not because you see different value or are upset you couldn’t pull it off. As I said, veto if you must. You are the commish. That’s why you have the power. But it’s not a good look to go against the majority. But to each their own. I’m just trying to do what I can to win. As well should.

Look, If no one else believes a keepable Ozuna (broken bones and all) is an odd overpay for an unproven expensive closer with a history of far more significant health problems, I can't force them to care. But that’s an unreasonable view, in my opinion. I don’t believe someone who was “going for it” but remaining in the league the following season would do such a trade.

Selling pieces you don't value in the next three months to win now is one thing, but making lopsided deals because you don't plan to stick around and suffer the consequences crosses a line. You still have an obligation to seek out or receive plausibly fair value.

Shizz isnt new at this and wants to win now. I dont see an issue. We are all working our own angle depending where our teams are at.
-
Realmuto and Diaz had comparable ADPs, right? And Ozuna is a power hitter with a hand injury. Made sense for Shizz to trade him.
-
One guy broke his hand in multiple spots and the other isn’t hitting. I want to win now and don’t care about next year. I tried to get your $29 closer and he’s untouchable, so I found a different way to get what I wanted. Veto if you must, but I see no reason when my team is clearly 100% in for right now. Two closers help me more than a hurt OF and a catcher that isn’t doing much.
-
Two elite position players at their respective positions at keepable prices for two closers with question marks, one of whom is $23? Am I missing something? I have never vetoed a trade, but the value being exchanged here is a head-scratcher...
