While we're all here, who needs a SS? Trevor Story and Addison Russell can be had for a reasonable price.
-
And you finished ahead of several players, myself included, in the standings, so what does that say about us?
-
As the person who screwed up and made the original $125 bid for Kershaw, I would have to disagree with Not Todd's comment about nobody here being dumb.

Now you're talking! Kershaw is awesome

The deal is not veto Worthy in my opinion

i'll just say this: looking at the deal in a value perspective, I feel that I got 3 players who perform over their pricing while giving up a couple players i dont care about, an accurately priced for oft injured Strasburg and an overpriced betts. and an undervalued kersh... have you seen that man? hes a god (clearly a joke just trying to have some fun)
-
Seems like it would be you heyward. Feel free to send offer I really need Outfield help
Baby Pfaadt on

Well now I'm not real sure who is going to own Betts to send you an offer...
-
I need an outfielder send an offer. I honestly didn't send one because I figured his price would be prohibitive

to be fair betts has been on my trade block since i took over the team and have yet to receive an offer
-
I agree. I'd be interested in both players immediately.
-
I wouldn't cut them. They are strong enough assets to get something in trade from if not someone else.
Baby Pfaadt on

damn should have said bett an eye... that wouldve been more clever
-
The crazy part is that Kershaw was never meant to be a $127 player. At last year's draft, someone made a mistake in their bid price. I think he ended up being the most expensive player in any ottoneu league. The fact he was able to be traded (with the $2 yearly increase!) is absolutely bonkers to me. I thought for sure he'd be cut, then drafted back to his actual value.
-
would anyone batt an eye if i were to drop betts and strasburg to make it under the cap? and get correa back?
-
Dozier at $19 and two underpriced relievers for $44 Betts and $30 Strasburg. Salaries matter a lot
-
Do agree Betts is slightly overpriced.

Definitely don't think you are dumb. Maybe I am for needing clarification.
Baby Pfaadt on

If Kershaw is cut the deal is basically Dozier and two relievers for Betts and strasburg
Baby Pfaadt on

i dont think anyone here is dumb, and we're all entitled to our opinions, off season trades are always hard to wrap our heads around i feel. when i look at the deal I think that betts is a bit over priced, im not a believer in the others that i traded away and i think that the 3 players (outside of kersh) are accurately priced or underpriced. i am happy with the deal, its not ideal but i am ok with it. when im in last place at the end of the season you can feel free to call me dumb ha ha
-
At that price he either kills your cap for the whole season or is cut predraft
Baby Pfaadt on

True about Dozier. However by that argument Kershaw is a massive anchor with huge negative value.
Baby Pfaadt on
December 1, 2017 7:53 PM
-
I don't think it's a bad deal for him. I think Dozier is the most valuable piece in that deal with respect to price. He's produced $30 and $42 the last two years. That's the most production over salary of any of the guys in the trade.
-
Feel free to tell me i am dumb

Also it is just my perception but it seemed like you were taking on salary and giving up the best player which isn't usually ideal.

Sorry not Todd not saying you have to explain the deal. Was just hoping to get a clearer understanding. Especially because you are taking on a ton of salary and you are already over the cap.

I get the deal from your end. It is not Todd's thought process I am curious about and am hoping to hear. By my eyes the deal is badly slanted against him.
Baby Pfaadt on
December 1, 2017 7:46 PM
-
Not entirely sure I need to explain a deal, however I was going to have to cut some players regardless so I made a deal in which I got players I wanted while giving up players Iād likelu cut anyway given constraints.
-
Also, it started with me asking about Dickerson and Urias, so that's how they got in the deal.
-
Sure. I don't want to speak too much for Not Todd Packer, but my understanding of our dialogue was that he wanted Dozier and to move Betts. I wanted Strasburg and to move Kershaw. So that was the deal that we agreed to in order to make all of that happen.
-
Any chance not Todd and carry on could comment on the trade in the message board? I for one am baffled and trying to get a better sense before I vote.

Just for an explanation to the league: Pinetar messaged me right after accepting my trade that he inadvertently accepted. The comment that he put on the trade also made it clear that he intended to reject the offer instead of accept. So we agreed to just trade the players back since he never intended to accept my offer.

I'm pleased to report that all 12 teams have voted in arbitration, which is the first time since the league's inception in 2012 that this has happened. I'm hoping we can continue to have 100% records for drafting and team upkeep during the long season.
