Just to be clear: our SP limit is a hard cap, right? So if we have 3 starts remaining but 4 SPs are starting and in the lineup, only the first 3 SPs' results count?

Hey all! This is a friendly reminder to pay by 1/31/25 or your spot in the league will technically be up for grabs. Also, a keeper deadline announcement.
As you know, you must have a legal roster in order to draft. If the keeper deadline passes and you still aren't legal, only I can edit your roster. Please know that I will only grant you a manual roster change if:
1) you are in an illegal state
2) i announce your proposed change here and not one paid manager objects for

Hi all! Friendly reminder! If you want to participate in the draft, you need a legal lineup by and after 9pm on 1/31/25. Keep these points in mind:
1) your team salary must not exceed ($360 + the number of players on the roster)
2) your roster must be 40 or less; remember, no one is on IL60 right now
3) no cuts or trades are allowed after the keeper deadline (9pm Pacific on 1/31/25) until the draft is over.

Friendly reminders. We have until January 31st to trade and cut players freely. By January 31st, you have to have a legal team (40 players and $400) or you cannot participate in the draft. If you're waiting to make last second cuts, don't forget!
Also, if you're planning to return for next season, consider paying up ;)

Housekeeping items!
1) Please note, you have until 1/31/25 to make trades and to drop players without penalty. After that, all activity is frozen until the draft. What does this mean? You have to have a legal lineup by January 31st!
2) Let's start floating possible dates for our draft. I propose a late Feb Fri/Sat/Sun evening at 5 or 6 pm. Optional live party. Technically the draft is optional for you! Again, make sure that you're legal by 1/31/25.

Yep, I think that's the annoying part about SP/RP, and I think you also need to micromanage pitchers starting behind openers or you won't get credit for their starts

Seeing the Jordan Hicks auction reminds me: I'm pretty sure it'll take five pitching starts before he earns SP eligibility and therefore can be used in Ottoneu. This will go for other converted relievers in the future. Am I right?

I accidentally added a 41st player and I have an error message on my end saying I need to cut someone. So I guess that's what happens when you have too many players!

For sure. I think it replicates the MLB 40 man rules basically, which also allows you to replace 60-day IL players as long as they're out

Got ya thank you. But thought that's why we have rosters of 40 to accommodate those situations

If you have a 60-day IL or suspended player, they don't count against your 40. When they return, you'll have to cut them or someone to make space for them again

Part 2! I plan to end the draft at 9:30 but will entertain changes to that plan by consensus. We will either need to schedule a second draft session or try out something called a "slow draft" (Google it). We'll talk in the chat.

Everyone get ready! The auction draft is starting soon. Please review our league settings.
One thing I'll ask once we get together: should there be a consequence for failing to nominate a player in turn? Are you worried about members "sitting out" to save dollars and avoid getting stuck with their nominated players on purpose? I see this as a minor issue that might increase throughout the draft. Per-matchup pitching starts are now capped at 9. Note: during the playoff finals it is instead capped at 9 per week for a two week match.

Hey all! Until further notice, all league planning activity is taking place on our Discord. Once that Discord is closed, this page will become the official place for all league chat and activity.
We need to plan the second date for our draft! I will decide on a date myself; it's up to you to give feedback on Discord. Technically you can miss the draft; you just won't have picked any players and will have a huge free agent budget ;)
