I have been recruiting an owner for our available team all offseason to no avail. Please contact people in other leagues you know to see if we can get someone on. This is a great league, and we want to make sure it continues as such.

I don't want to run off Musial Standard just to get an owner for the other team. And let's be frank, even if this trade was not one most of us thought was good, it's far from the worst one made by that former owner.

Our new owner decided to leave. I'm not eager to cancel the trade, and he was aware of the deal before he took over. He wasn't promised a cancellation. If the league prefers to reverse it, I'll see if he wants the team back.

The person inheriting the team wants it cancelled, why saddle the new person with a trade deal they don't want and never had a chance to agree to?

Oops, left out a word. The one sentence should read " I think if it was a bad trade it should have been cancelled at that time. So I would say keep it.

One can assume that a deal was not made in good faith because he abandoned his team before it processes, and someone else can assume that the deal was made in good faith and he abruptly left for other reasons. I think that is a line that does not have a clear answer. Again, if the deal is deemed unfair due to the players involved, I agree it should be vetoed. It's a dangerous game when you begin vetoing trades for other reasons.

I don’t believe the owner’s situation should be a factor here. If the league deems this trade to be unfair strictly in terms of the players involved (through the in-place voting process), then I agree that it should be vetoed. I had no knowledge this owner was on the verge of leaving. Note that this was the second counter offer I sent in our negotiations, from which the former owner first proposed a few weeks back.

I just think there's the stench of a deal not made in good faith if one owner abandons his team before the trade is even fully processed. Sorry to Musial Standard, but I'd much prefer that you renegotiate with whomever takes over the team.

One question I got on Slack when I posted was whether or not I would reverse the trade accepted by Kluber just before he abandoned his team. I wanted to get the leagues opinion on this. Are we in favor of letting it process or canceling the trade?
