Hi All, I'm Jason. I'm an ES/MS teacher in the Cayman Islands (originally from NYC area) and looking forward to trying out a new spin on fantasy baseball. I'll be moving to Brazil at the end of the school year, but should have no trouble keeping up! I'm a lifelong Yankees fan (got to see a good amount of playoff games) and I have one kid--a seven year old who likes to root against whatever teams I like!

Hi Luke! Go DAWGS! I am fellow UGA alum from back in the day when Maddux became a Brave. He must have followed me down there from Chicago. One of my greatest memories was watching Sid Bream chug home in a Game 7 to send the Braves to a world series.
-
Hi All - My name is Luke and I'm from Atlanta. I work at Georgia Tech for an Inclusive Post-Secondary Program for college-aged students with intellectual disabilities. Despite working at Tech, I am a UGA alum and a huge fan of the Bulldogs. Between the Dawgs and the Braves, who both let me down for decades, I still am not 100% sure how to handle the success we've had the last few years. I love fantasy baseball, especially Ottoneu and really excited about this league. It's going to be a blast.

Welcome Bill, Ben, and Tom - We Love reading about You and Your Families- Thanks Again and appreciate the Bios and learning about You and Your Families!

Hi, I am Tom. I am from Orland Park, IL, a SW burb of Chicago. I am a Mortgage Banker at Mutual of Omaha Mortgage. With rates so bad, I have lots of free time to pay attention to fantasy baseball! Lifelong Cubs fan that has spent way too much time in the Wrigley bleachers, but I did manage to go to game 7 in 2016! I have one daughter who is currently a 3 sport athlete (Basketball, Cross Country, and Track) at Aurora University. She is probably the smallest player in NCAA at 5'0", 100 lbs!

I'm Ben, an economics research assistant living in Cambridge, MA. My team allegiances, however, lie with my home in North Jersey (thus the name). Moved here for work once I graduated from college, may not stay too long. Excited to play with you all!

Hi everyone, I'm Dakota and I've been in Wisconsin all my life. Currently, my full time job is working in customer care for a big corporation. However, my passion gig is working as a scout for a basketball team based in Mexico. I'm hoping that leads into a role with an NBA team.

Not a requirement, but I think it would be great for each of us to do a short Bio to get to know Our Yippee Ki Yay Managers - I would like to build a long-term League, and the best way is if we have a sense of Community - (NOT a Requirement- If You are uncomfortable Please don't do it) --- So I will go 1st

I forgot we had playoffs in this league. It's 135 bc the playoffs take up almost a month at the end of the season. I've never been in an FGPoints league that wasn't H2H with playoffs, so I was mistaken on the 162. I promise it sounds restrictive but you won't even notice until it gets to the final weeks of the regular season.
-
Ya it’s 135games for all catchers and for all other positions except for OF but ya I thought it was 162 played the last 3 years but my memory no good
-
so from the sounds of that, even though you have 2 catcher slots, you only get 135 games between the both of them, though you get a full 135 for each OF position

"Season-long leagues with playoffs have a 135 game maximum for all positional player positions, except for a 675 game maxiumum for OF. Season-long leagues with playoffs also have a 1250 IP maximum for all pitchers. These maximums only matter during the regular season and do not affect the playoffs"

Maddux can You Please ping Niv and find out why We are at 135 games
-
it's actually 135 because of the playoffs, which is weird, but I was reading the rules and saw that, I'm guessing you get the same number of games for every slot in your lineup, so 135 for each catcher position
Zion Rockers on
April 2, 2023 10:26 PM
-
Actually if u look at the bottom of your lineup page it has all the limits and it’s saying 135 for every position I guess cause we started late idk and it’s like 670 for OF
-
we only get 162 games total between both catcher positions, or 162 games for each?
Zion Rockers on
April 2, 2023 10:06 PM
-
You can start with 2 catchers but you only get 162G there the reason they do this is because catchers never play 162g always have days off
-
Guys on the 60 day IL don’t count towards the 40 otherwise they do
-
do we start 2 Catchers?
-
I see there are IL spots, does that mean we can go over 40 players, if we have available $, or it doesn't really matter if a guy is on IL or bench?

Just a note since I know there are a lot of Ottoneu rookies in the league. In the FanGraphs points format, there's a 162-game limit on each position (810 for OF) and 1500 IP. That is 162 for both C spots combined. I'm saying this bc I didn't realize this until halfway through the season last year in another league. It worked out bc I actually won the league bc I didn't leave any playing time on the board. Just don't feel the need to fill spots with bad matchups, especially C bc it wil go fast.

I promise not to bid $100 on Soto... as long as everybody else promises not to bid $99

All - The draft room is open - You can import Your watch list and start Your Draft strategy - The draft will be to fill 40 roster spots(So Please do not bid Juan Soto up to $100 and only have $300 left to fill 39 spots) for Your Team. You will be asked to nominate a player to auction for the league every 12 picks
-
Name is a reference to the pitcher missing lots of time with his (finger) blisters over the past ~decade. Wasn't aware he shares a name with Hawaii's coach, but I'm sorry to hear about your son's predicament.
-
Yes, there will be a draft option on Your Ottoneu page day of the draft- Which Rich Hill the Pittsburg pitcher or the University of Hawaii Head coach? My son played for the coach and the blisters he got were not on his fingers
-
Morning everyone, will the draft itself be held within the Ottoneu platform? I haven't played an Ottoneu league before, excited to dive in though.
-
Welcome Honey Nut - I nominate You for the best team name!! Looking forward to a Great Season

The Draft is set for 2 pm Sunday and should take a minimum of 4 hrs - Please double-check Your schedules and make sure You can make this commitment - We will take a 5-minute break every 1.5 hours. Thank You for Your Commitment to Yippee Ki Yay Ottoneu Baseball League!! There are a couple of videos on Ottoneu on YouTube - If You get overwhelmed just ask for a pause in chat(each manager will be granted 1 pause) - If You have any questions please use this message board--- Looking forward to Sunday!
-
TBD - Go to Your team settings and there is a box to check to withdraw from the league and get a full refund - Sorry it was so hard to find a Draft date!!
-
Unfortunately I have a few things going on Sunday and 2:00 will be tough, and draft going for several hours will be almost impossible. So prob best for the league if I withdraw, sorry guys. I don’t need my money back so hopefully that makes it easier to find a replacement. Good luck everyone!
-
***The only time that is going to work for the majority of teams is Sunday at 2 EST. While I wish we had more options, we need to make this time work. If you are unable to attend, you're welcome to have someone proxy for you. If that doesn't work, we'd request you withdraw from the league, so we can reopen it with the confirmed draft date. If you need a proxy, I am happy to help and post on the Ottoneu Slack or Community Board. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me or Dude Abides. Thanks

Hi All - I created a Doodle to help set the draft time. I created 3 hours blocks but the draft will probably take closer to 4-6 hours, so we may have to split it into 2 days. Please select the times that work for you ASAP and add your team name so we know who needs to complete the form. If you have any issues, let me know. https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/e3y1PGQb
