Reminder everyone: if you have guys you've dropped who have $2 or more cap hits, you can auction them, bid the minimum, and immediately drop them, and that will reduce their cap hit.

Can everyone fill out this Doodle? Hoping to find an earlier draft time. Thanks.

Nothing like a festive Yuletide DROP. Merry Christmas to all!

Congratulations to Skipper's Gout on an incredible run. rayferry had the clear-cut 1st and 3rd best Ottoneu hitters, plus the #17 best hitter (after some goof dropped him). $1 rotation anchors in Mitch Keller, Tanner Bibee and Justin Steele go quite a long way, and a $4 Ian Happ did not hurt either. We all look forward to a winter feast in his honor.
Fellas, thanks for a fun inaugural year. Read up on the offseason rules. Let me know if you know anyone who wants to grab a team for nFruiting Relations on October 1, 2023 9:29 PM

I hate to give advice when most of you are crushing me. But if you have players you've dropped over 30 days ago making more than $1, reauction them! Bid the minimum and drop immediately. It costs you nothing and cuts the cap hit in half. E.g. Ward was $20, $10 after cut, reauctioned twice $10>$5>$3, and now that he's that cheap someone else auctioned him and he will be completely off my books. The only reason not to do it is if you might want to pick him up for real in less than 30

did you know that you can’t get points for playing a pitcher in your SP slot if they appeared as a reliever? i didn’t, so i’m doing myself the courtesy of removing kutter crawford from my team, who i wouldn’t have picked up otherwise

Just got this question so I'll post the answer here. Teams are allowed to bid on a player that takes them over their budget and then resolve their roster back to legal after the fact.
It's up to the discretion of the commissioner how to resolve illegal rosters, so let's say you have 24 hours to make an illegal team legal. Otherwise, it will be done for you!Fruiting Relations on April 10, 2023 11:10 AM

ex. if you claim a $60 player on waivers and are awarded him when you are at the cap, you're gonna have to clear that space somehow, but dropping another $60 player that doesn't get claimed by someone else is only gonna get you $30. double bone situation is if you change your mind, that player is yours and you'll only get $30 back if you insta drop him.
basically drunken waiver wire seshes could end up very costly, so be careful out there.Wake and Rake on March 30, 2023 5:05 PM

'Teams are allowed to bid such that they would go over roster or cap limits if they win the auction. If they do win the auction, they will have to get under roster and cap limits before they can set their lineups, make trades, or bid on other auctions'
so we aren't bidding with conditional drops in place and we can get whoever we want, BUT have to clear roster space to make it work before we can set our lineups again.Wake and Rake on March 30, 2023 5:02 PM

A huge diff between this and a Yahoo league is that cutting a $1 player in this league _GIVES YOU NO SALARY RELIEF_! At least not initially.
You retain half the salary for each player you cut, and it rounds up. Cutting a $2 guy gives you $1 of salary relief. If he's ever picked up, that team is on the hook for his full $2 salary. That means that a $1 player saves you only $0.50, which rounds up to $1, saving you nothing.
This basically prevents 1-for-1 swaps at the boFruiting Relations on March 30, 2023 9:52 AM

Yup. I’m going to hit yellow jackets as soon as we sign out. Expecting this to be like season one, where the first episode is great and then each subsequent episode is worse until I wind up questioning the merit of tv shows in general when all is said and done

Is this heaven? hell? baseball limbo? like a big taxpayer-funded stadium-shaped cruise ship we're floating on together with our favorite, and least favorite (looking at you, over at the hot tub, Hader) players. whatever it is, we've made a promise to each other that it is for baseball eternity. make your selections count. (i think we start at 7:30? and i would guess this will take 6-8 hours, however we do it. I'll be catheterized and on yellow jackets... ready for the long haul tonight)

I’d prefer to go long but totally get it if people can’t or it blows past expectations. We can set a hard cap of say, midnight EST?
After that we’ll try to do hourlong increments every subsequent night, which will also be hell to schedule.Fruiting Relations on March 22, 2023 9:51 PM

it would be nice to have a backup plan if draft goes over 3-4 hrs, and people are feeling completely fried…
