You already have 2 open slots on your roster. One for John Means being on the 60 day IL and one for Nick Senzel being on the Covid protocol. Senzel could come off the protocol anytime, so be careful with that slot. If you cut John Means you immediately get half his salary added to your cap. You will not get the other half of the salary until someone else rosters him. If he has not been rostered in a month, you can re-auction and cut him again to get back more of his salary.
-
All, sorry for another message from me. I see John Means was placed on the 60-day DL. So I think I can move him to the 60-day on my roster. I assume his salary does not get freed up in that event -- his $8 still counts against the $400 limit. Or I could cut him, and if/when noone signs him, does my cap go down to 396 then (half of $8), and $4 goes into my FA k? So I'd have $396 for 40 roster spots? First time around obviously, not sure I have it right. Tx for any help and no rush obviously.

You bet, makes sense Commish! Thanks for the reply and have a good evening.

Hey Coop, since I advertised this league as a weekly lineup set up, we will probably keep it as weekly at least for this year. Feel free to bring this up again during the off-season. Daily leagues require a bit more time, and some people may like the weekly lineups for that reason ha.
-
Hello everyone, Happy Easter weekend! I wondered if there was any value in discussing a switch to daily lineups. In my vast, one week experience with Ottoneu (lol), I have found that I would like to be able to adjust to early week injuries and game postponements. It looks to me from a quick search that either the Commish could change the setting or the Ottoneu admin could upon request. If not, no worries at all. Thanks!
-
Awesome, thanks Quick!
-
All times that you see are dependent on the time zone in your profile. My profile says that I’m in GMT - 5:00 so the times that I see are CDT. If your profile says you are in New York, then you will see times in EDT. In Los Angeles, you will see times in PDT. Etc.
-
Hey all, Hope your weeks are going well. What time zone are the auction end times in? Are those EST? Thanks
-
Anyone notice any players missing or anything like that?
-
You bet!

Make sure you click on the hyperlink at the top for the week starting with April 11. That solved it for me at least.

oh wow, yep, I totally missed that this league has playoffs.
Season-long leagues with playoffs have a 135 game maximum for all positional player positions, except for a 675 game maximum for OF. Season-long leagues with playoffs also have a 1250 IP maximum for all pitchers. These maximums only matter during the regular season and do not affect the playoffs
-
You have until 2 EDT tomorrow to set the lineup. Remember to set the April 11 - April 17 tab lineup.
-
Oh, ok thanks very much about the catchers. 135 game limit combined, got it. Thanks again and gl everyone.

Also, I live on the west coast, so tonight before I go to bed if I see any lineups empty for the next week, I am going to fill them so no one gets a ZERO. But thats in like 5 hours.
-
135 games
-
Ottoneu allows for two catchers in a lineup so that you can better manage getting to 162 games in daily lineup leagues, so I assume the same must be true for weekly lineups. You won't be able to accrue any stats for either catcher slot after you hit 162 games, though, so use the second catcher spot wisely.
-
There are inning caps for ROTO leagues here, but you could start two catchers until your catcher inning cap is met....(I think)
-
Thanks Commish! Is anyone else seeing two catchers in the lineup slots? It is just one in Ottoneu, right? Thanks

you should now be able to set lineups! Message me if you have any issues or like Tyler said have any missing players.
-
Rosters have been uploaded. Out of 474 "files", there were 3 "files" that were flagged as being "bad", I have no idea what players those 3 files are, so please double check your team and let the commish know if you are missing a player, or got the wrong player imported.

I believe the draft is done.
-
League starting tomorrow…hey guys. Tyler is gonna help me import the draft over to Ottoneu, and the season should start Monday (tomorrow) for us. It’s weekly lineups so make sure you have your lineup set asap once it’s imported. Thanks!
-
Starting the draft! Good luck everyone. The draft room has a chat feature, should be a good place for anyone to ask questions.
-
OK, thanks! I was catching up and saw the post about ignoring the SP Ohtani, so I apologize if I am behind the curve. Much appreciated!
-
There's only one Ohtani on ottoneu, who can be used as either a hitter or a pitcher (but not both simultaneously). It looks like the couch managers draft got fixed to remove the second Ohtani so it's now only possible to draft him once to match ottoneu.
-
Sounds great, thanks Commish and all! So we are only drafting Ohtani as a hitter and not nominating him (or using him during the year) as a pitcher if I understand correctly? Thanks again!
-
Since there's a 12 hour clock for all auctions, one of the advantages of the slow auction seems to be that you can place blind bids as able on your own schedule. I think the same is true of nominations, so this will just mean some of the first round nominees are a bit staggered which actually seems kind of good for those of us easing into a new format.
-
Hey guys I'm not living in the US so I'm going to be a few hours late because of the time difference

Thanks, Commish! Looking forward to it.

Haha. Right after I sent that the guy at CM fixed the first draft. No need to join the new one! Draft will start tomorrow at noon PST tomorrow. Sorry for the mixup ha
-
Hey All!! I messed up the first draft and made it AL ONLY. https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/?auction_id=235 so go to this new draft (same password) and we will start tomorrow at noon PST. (As long as everyone has signed up). Unless that guy gets back to me asap there will be two Ohtani’s so we will ignore the SP Ohtani. Let’s get it going!
-
Oh I apologize, you said "my noms don't impact other manager's noms." That probably answers it. Thanks!
-
OK, thanks to you both for the helpful replies! I know this will become obvious, but it is helpful to know in advance, so I appreciate it.
One follow-up: so I take it each manager goes in sequence for noms. The first manager listed nominates three, and the second manager in line cannot nominate until the first one has nominated three, and so on? And then when all 12 have nominated 3, the nom slots for completed auctions open up in chrono order (not by manager order listed in couch
-
You'll get your noms back once a player you nominate has come off the board. For example, I nominate Player A, 12 hours later player A comes off the board, and immediately I'm able to nominate another player.

None of the above. It's per nomination. So as soon as I nominate player A, his clock starts counting down. I don't have to make my other two noms immediately, I could wait 5 mins, 5 hours, 5 days before I do my other two nominations. However, if you wait 5 days before making your noms, you will be the most hated person in the league very shortly. My noms don't impact any other manager's noms.

Does the clock start only after all owners make 3 nominations? Or does it start after the first owner makes three, then clock starts separately on the group of 3 the next owner nominates, and so on?
-
Agree with starting ASAP with a scheduled start time

Ok, thanks!
-
Yes, many systems, like Yahoo, work that way.
-
Sorry, what does "two Ohtani" mean - we would bid on one designated as a hitter and one designated as a pitcher?
-
I agree with starting ASAP with a scheduled start time as 7th inning streakers suggested
-
Starting ASAP so we can cross our fingers to be ready next week for our first weekly lineup sounds great to me.
-
There are two Ohtanis in the draft. I'm good with starting whenever.
-
I'd also vote for starting asap. The more we get done before opening day, the better.
-
Fine by me as well. Thanks everyone!
-
Works for me!
-
I second the start as soon as a possible idea. Once CM gets back to you, and if no one has any objection, Commish, I'd say you pick a time for an official start, say 3/6/9 pm EDT, that way we all know when the draft will kick off. It'll take 12 hours at a minimum for the first player to come off the board, so even if we start at 6 pm it'll be 6 am before anyone wins an auction.
