A fun week so far in the championship round! I've been hit with some unfortunate injuries the last few days that may be difficult to compensate for. Wilson Contreras and Carlos Correa both out, along with going down a reliever (I had a back-up who is also injured).
-
The playoff is one week long. Obviously, the team with most number of points at the end of the week advances to the next round. As Know Your Werth wrote, the playoffs are a daily moves league. A maximum of 8 starts from starting pitchers can be used. You can use your entire roster. Good luck.
-
Daily lineups, yes. 8 SP starts per week limit.
-
Is it daily lineups for the playoffs?

It's been a fun regular season. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs (and more luck to the players on my team).
-
This is the last week of the regular season. Playoffs begin next Monday. Only the top six teams will advance to the playoffs. The top two teams will have a one week bye. Plan accordingly and good luck to everyone.

Public Service Announcement: Tomorrow, April 17th, is Patriot's Day in Boston. The Boston Marathon is run. It is also the tenth anniversary of the bombing. The Boston Red Sox game starts at 11:10 EDT, which means that the weekly lineups lock at 11:10 EDT tomorrow. So make sure your lineups are set early.
-
So I'm just like not allowed to have Middle Infielders in this league huh?
-
I rescind my ire after an example of grace and now return to enjoying the AL East battle as a neutral observer.
-
All of my ire is directed at the Yankees for finally putting Montas on the 60-Day IL ONE HOUR after I had to cut him to set my roster for the week.
You stink Yankees. May the Orioles, Rays, and Blue Jays best you.
-
Ooops, wrong again. Or right the first time. The Yankees-Giants game is at 1:05 EDT. I was mistaking central time, which I’m on, for eastern. Mea culpa.
-
Sorry, I have the time wrong for today. You must post your lineups by 12:05 PM EDT. That’s when the Yankees-Giants game is starting.
-
Oh I see. That's very helpful. Thank you!
-
I recommend you use the next 7 days setting on the pull down for choices beneath the position players or pitchers title on the lineups page. It is the last setting on the pull down. I found it very helpful last year. If you have any questions, please ask.
-
This is a reminder that this is a weekly league. Which means that you must post your lineups before the first game of every week. Because this is a shortened week, you must post your lineups before 1:05 EDT March 30. The "week" will only last until Sunday April 2. On Monday, April 3, you will have to post your lineups for the week of April 3 - April 9 before 2:10 EDT Monday, April 3. Once the first game of the week has started, you can not change your lineup that week.
-
Thank you all for the kind words.

Great job commish! Thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks again to Quick for resurrecting the league and organizing/importing the draft. Can't wait for the season to get underway. Good luck everyone

Thank you Commish

Everything should be fixed now. My thanks, as always, to Niv Shah.
-
Good catch Werth. The wrong players were imported. I will fix that and stop the auction for Endy Rodriguez. Please check your rosters to make sure other mistakes didn't happen. I'm too trusting.
-
Thanks, Quick! Looks like the two current player auctions didn't import to ottoneu, as I see them both as drafted on couchmanagers: $7 Endy Rodriguez C PIT Bacardi Bats // $3 Daniel Espino SP CLE RocketScience
-
Great, thanks Quick. Good luck with the season, everybody. I look forward to talking trades.
-
El Paso, I solved the problem. Would you believe there are two Zac(h) Veens? I removed the one that plays in the Minnesota system. Your team is good-to-go now.
-
El Paso, it looks like you wound up with one more player than you should have. Let me know who it is and I will do a penalty free cut for you.
-
I have imported the results back from couchmanagers. There was one player that didn't import (Shintaro Fujinami), so I added him manually. I have added the three players to big Papi's team. I have unchecked the box that requires to use the Ottoneu auction page. I declare that the 2023 Dinger Derby draft is complete. Have fun and good luck everyone.
-
posted on our board yesterday
-
Couchmanagers is listing the draft as completed. I’m guessing that we didn’t have any activity on the site for a couple of days, we were 99% and that was that. I’m going to import the results back to here. I will add the players manually. Just give me some time to work it out.
-
I'm not done, but cannot nominate ou auction anybody. I would of auctionned Marsh OF, Floro RP and Ober SP
-
I'm done. Leaving an open spot for spring training.
-
Are you and Big Papi done with the draft? You both have players remaining. If you both tell me you are done, I will declare the draft done and transfer the results.
-
Fun auction! Hope everyone enjoyed it. When will we port the rosters over and, I assume, be able to start talking trades?
-
Woohoo!

The draft has begun. Start your nominations and bidding!

Indeed, thanks for all your work
-
It seems we have a consensus. The draft begins tomorrow at noon eastern time. Good luck and good bidding everyone.
-
Ready to start tomorrow here as well. Thanks for all the work reinvigorating the league, Quick!

Wednesday sounds fine.

That works for me. Thanks for your efforts, DFAed!

There’s an article by Chad Young on FanGraphs on slow drafts. He recommends the initial bidding should be 12 hours and subsequent periods should be 8 hours. I have changed our bidding period to those. If the draft is going too slowly, we can shorten the bidding periods. Otherwise, how about starting this Wednesday, February 15 at 12 Noon Eastern time?
-
Thanks to Quick and DFAed for getting all of this set up. I am fine to start the draft whenever

Have you used the search function to check for less obvious players? If I do a search for Garcia, I get 21 results with both major and minor leaguers.
-
When will all of the available players on the auction site be populated? Currently there are just a hand full of players listed currently. Thanks! 🧢

After a player is nominated, the first bid has 8 hours before it can be successful. Any bid that establishes a new high bid restarts the clock and that bid has 4 hours before it can be successful. In theory, a player that starts at 1 dollar and is bid up in increments of 1 dollar to 40 dollars could take 164 hours to be auctioned (1 8 hour initial period + 39 4 hour periods). It will go faster than that.
-
Does that mean after each bid the period extends to 4 hours, or the 4 hours count down starting from when the first bid is submitted? Otherwise everything sounds great and I'm happy to start anytime - thanks!

We are now set to begin the slow draft. When do we wish to start? The current set up is that each team can nominate up to 2 players. If you win an auction, you can nominate another player. The initial bidding period will be 8 hours per player. After the first bid, the period will be 4 hours per player. The auction will be paused from Midnight until 8 AM Eastern Time. Are these settings what we want? Thanks to everyone for your help so far.
-
Done. Sorry for the delayed response
