Arbitration has begun! You’ve got until Nov 14, but remember that your allocations won’t count unless you allocate all $25 and allocate at least $1 per team.

if your team is illegal at the moment, please cut someone to bring it into compliance
-
Remember to make cuts by 11:59pm on January 31. Also pay your $20 dues to the website.
-
Yep, every player on IL 60 or the COVID list gets you an extra roster spot. Maybe a couple other statuses like suspensions too.

Random question - how come some teams can have more people than others. For example it says I have 41 out of 41, but others have like 47 people. Is that because people are on IR and when they're taken off one roster spot goes down?
-
The trade between Alex and Sarah will be reversed due to an accidental proposal
-
11AM first game today as a lineup reminder
-
You can now begin trades. You must trade or cut players you dont want by January 31
-
Hey everyone, don't forget to assign $ on the arbitration tab by November 15. Let me know if you have any questions.
-
Hey y'all, I know I said there was nothing to do until November, and that's technically true, but you could start doing arbitration now. This is a process of allocating $s to other team's players that seem like theyre just a little too cheap. You can click on "Arbitration" on the top bar there and add $s to teams. You have $25 to allocate and can allocate a max of $3 per team (which means in effect, $3 per player)
-
Thank you! Very tight race the whole season, already looking forward to next year.
-
Congrats to Matt for taking it down in the inaugural season. Hope you all enjoyed your first time on ottoneu or your first fantasy baseball experience. There will be tasks to do in November, so stay tuned!
-
Congratulations to Optimal Launch for your winning season. Best team won. Also Congrats to X, Juan Soto, 1 eye 2, on a good season. We were all kind of bunched up close together. I had a great time with Ottoneu. Hope all the rest of you did also. Have a good off-season. Pacing the Cage.

For pitchers the limit is 1500 IPs, my guess is with the weekly lineups, no one will come close
-
For the positional bit, that’s true for hitters. But doesn’t apply for pitchers? Aka if a pitcher is slotted as a reliever but starts, those points would not count, yeah?

No, the games played will only tick up if they participate in the game. A 'game' for a positional player constitutes of any appearance in a major league game, whether it be a start or any form of substitution.
-
Its really a function of this website is not really made for weekly lineups
-
A breakdown of all games played, along with projections for games played, at each position can be found at the bottom of the lineups page. Also worth noting - it doesn't matter where the player ends up playing in real life if they have 2+ eligible positions. You get credit at the position you slot them into in your lineup.
-
Does a player count toward the limit when in a team's starting lineup but on the IL?

And yes, pretty much every team will be hitting that limit in the next 2-3 weeks.
-
My team only has 2 catchers and 1 was on the IL for a while. I didn't bother adding a new catcher since I will eventually hit the limit anyway. I guess going forward any given team only needs to roster like 1.5 catchers?

Its the sum of the catchers that have played in your lineup. not just the one catcher
-
I still don't understand, so will I no longer get points from catchers? Can I not switch my catchers anymore? Wouldn't everyone be getting that error around now?
-
I think it's 162 games combined between all catchers that have started.

I don't really understand, he's only played 76 games at catcher (92 games total)....Not anywhere close to 162
-
There is a cap on all positions of 162 "games played" (other than OF which is 810), so once you accrue 162 games at any position you are "locked" from receiving any more points from that position for the remainder of the season. In this league, Catcher will most likely be the only position that people run into that hard limit as there are two starting C spots. Pitchers also have an aggregate 1500 IP limit.
-
I just received this message when trying to make a lineup change for tomorrow, any ideas?
"This team has met positional game limits and will not receive any further stats this season for the following positions: C"
-
Are there any bonuses for having players selected as all stars?
-
A general announcement- if you cut a player over 30 days ago and youre currently carrying a cap penalty greater than $1, you can renominate that player, and then cut them to halve your cap penalty. Or you get lucky and someone else wants them, in which case your cap penalty is wiped out
-
Gotcha, thank you!

Guys on the 60-day IL or COVID list dont count towards the 40 man limit
-
Why do roster sizes vary? I'm been confused this year why some teams have 41 players, while I've seen up to 44 on others. Am I seeing this right? Thanks!

Correcto, lower ranked player gets it in the case of a tie bid
-
How come Sarah won a bid on my player when we bid the same amount ($1)? Was it because she is ranked lower than me? I would have guessed you would have to outbid someone
-
Let's go Cardinals!
-
His waiver period is over. It lasts 24 hours after the player is cut. You pay the price of their salary when they were cut. When a player gets cut the cutting team pays the penalty of 1/2 the previous price rounded up until another team picks him up.
-
I've been a bit confused by the waiver system all year. I'm seeing that Carlson's minimum bid on an auction (after being cut) would be $5. Any idea what that is? Is it 50% of his draft value or something? Is his waiver still running?
Also, what does the penalty for cutting players mean? I always see the penalty, but I don't notice it actually appearing anywhere.
Thanks!

Interesting, I feel like it counted points when I had him as a RP but he started. Good to know for the future
-
You had him in a reliever slot and he started
-
Quick question - Michael Wacha pitched 5.2 innings yesterday and is showing a 0. Can we fix this?
-
Thank goodness we didn’t resign Matz!

Just a reminder that the Red Sox game today starts at 11AM EST - Given our lineups lock on Mondays, they may lock in once that games starts.

Hey all. Good luck this season! Looking forward to opening day.

Dont forget to set your lineups before 1pm tomorrow. If anyone has any questions, shoot me a text or post here
-
I should say I am up against the player limit is the reason for trying this move.
-
Buyers remorse! Tyler Naquin on the clock right now (9 hrs left). If you need an OF and he might help you I am willing to somehow (not sure about how the rules allow) to get $3 back to you in a trade or deal. I just want to balance my roster a little differently. Any questions let me know. Shane I think something like this is allowable. If not please let me know. Seems like this is a kinda future consideration. Hope everyone is having fun.
