(accidental post before finishing the message)
Keep in mind that this draft should be a maximum of 3 hours and could be as quick as 2 hours. Post a message if you have any questions or concerns about the draft and I'll do my best to address them.
Looking forward to the draft!

Tuesdays and Thursdays are tough for me. Any other day works great.

Before I send out the poll to determine draft date and time - I wanted to ask if there were any specific days of the week or general times (ie. No Mondays, or no Saturday morning).
I'll send out a poll with dates starting ~March 5th
-
Welcome!
-
Good morning everyone, Just claimed the team formerly known as SammyJ. Looking forward to being a part of the league, please don't hesitate to reach out, always up for trade discussion!

Happy new year everyone, just wanted to provide a note with the keeper deadline in 11 days.
Everyone's roster is frozen after January 31st - no trades or cuts. Your roster MUST be cap compliant before the deadline (under $400 and $1 available for each open roster spot).
Rosters are frozen until the auction draft and afterwards trades and cut can happen again. I'll send a calendar with potential draft dates and time in the next couple weeks for votes. It should be a lot
-
I second that - I think it typically makes for a better experience for everyone when everyone is as informed as possible at the time of the draft. So a mid-March draft would definitely be my preference!
-
Personal preference but I like the draft as close to the regular season as possible because it stinks when someone takes a huge hit to their ability to compete due to late injury in spring before the season has even got going. Also allows late signings and spring training battles to become more clear.

We have our final team owner for the upcoming season!
Welcome to the league Charm City and looking forward to the rest of the offseason. Will sent out possible draft days sometime in the new year. I don't think we'll have our draft until February at the earliest. If people have a preference for rough timing of the draft in Feb/Mar let me know!
-
Just started a $100 points league called The Last Fridays if anyone is interested in joining. Draft won’t be determined for a bit obviously but will be in march sometime.

Welcome to our other new owner!
We just have one more vacancy that will hopefully be filled shortly.
-
Welcome to our new owner!
We are still looking to fill 2 more slots so if you know anyone possibly interested let me know
-
Would anyone be willing to fill is as an arbitration proxy for league 1308? We have one inactive manager and looking for an impartial, outside manager to submit arbitration for that team
-
Thanks for the welcome!

Also, I have not heard back from Vivaelbirdos or Yeah Buddy!.
Let me know if you know someone who would like to take over one of those teams.
-
We have a new owner for Blue Falcons! Welcome to the league
-
Just a couple days left to get your arbitration in, everyone!
-
Thanks, happy to join
-
A little late but wanted to welcome our newest manager of AKA Big Papi (formerly Weenie Hut General).
Welcome and good luck!
-
A quick intro for the offseason: rosters are frozen (no cuts or trades) until arbitration is over.
Arbitration runs from October 15th until November 14th. You must allocate all $25 of your arbitration $$$ otherwise none of it will stick and put you at a relative disadvantage to the rest of the league.
As a general strategy, you are best to put your arbitration $$$ on players you believe are the best value and that other players will keep so the increased salary sticks.
-
Thank you! It really was a tight race right to the end! Strong standings overall and performances from the league as a whole.
Congratulations to Quabity Assurance and Sometimes Maybe Good for medalling as well!
-
Congrats!
-
Agreed - great season everyone! Glad I could just barely sneak into 3rd. Looking forward to the actual postseason and fantasy offseason!
-
What a run Kurt, congrats on the title! Was fun watching it unfold from way down at the bottom. Looking forward to an off-season to retool. Good first season folks
-
If anyone is looking to make a deal before the deadline let me know. I’ve got some difference makers (Freeman, Turner, Bregman, Burnes) and OF depth I would deal. Looking for controllable pieces with a preference for those already on major league rosters
-
I've got an abundance of starters I trust. Looking to move one for an upgrade in my lineup. None are untouchable
-
Well Story tried to single-handedly make up for Eovaldi for you last night lol absolutely insane stat line.
-
A not so nice -69 points from Nathan Eovaldi for me tonight...
-
Yeah the positional eligibility does not mean a lot for pitchers. It is a little confusing. From the rules:
All pitchers can be placed in either SP or RP positions on the lineup and roster organizer pages. However they will only accrue statistics if you use them in the same manner as their MLB team
-
Ahh thanks! That's good. Weird that they even have pitching eligibility rules then
-
Yea I just screwed up with kopech. Eligibility doesn’t matter, if he’s starting you put him in the starter spot if he’s coming out of the pen you put him in relief. There is a note above pitchers on the lineup page.
-
So jordan hicks was named the 5th starter but only has rp eligibility. As I understand the rules that means he's basically ineligible. If I put him in the rp slot when he is starting he will not accrue points, and I cannot use him as a starter until he gets 5 starts.
-
So good to finally have it back! Good luck to everyone this season!
-
Cold and overcast afternoon April baseball! Feels good to have it back. Good luck all!
-
Baseball is here!!! Good luck everyone and enjoy the season!

Filling game caps and inning caps is one the largest determinants to place in the standings. If you fill all games and innings and the team isn't horrible - you'll finish in the top half more than likely
-
Only my second season of Ottoneu but I will say that it seems like hitting your game caps is really important (and harder than you think) - I got too cute in the first half last year and didn’t hit my caps. Probably cost me a spot or two in the standings. So unless you have an everyday stud at that position my suggestion would be if you’re on the fence start the guy
-
You have it 100% exactly correct. This includes catcher despite the two available spots in the lineup
"Want to make sure I am understanding this correctly. Each position has a 162 game cap. If a normal bench player has a game tomorrow, you may not necessarily want to start him, because this counts as 1/162 games for that position, correct? In theory, you would want your best player to fill all 162 games at that position (obviously optimistic)."
-
Sorry for the typo, 162 total for the two catcher spots, not 192
-
That's accurate - every spot in the lineup has a limit of 162 games for the season (with the exception being Catcher, which has 192 total between the two spots; OF has 162*5 total games). Once you hit those limits you can no longer accumulate points from players at those positions.
-
@musial yes that is my understanding and is what I will be doing. Someone correct us if we are wrong haha.

Draft begins in an hour - see everyone soon!
-
Happy to answer any questions before we finish off our draft tonight. If not, I'll see you all at 8pm EDT
-
Draft in under 6 hours. Hope everyone is ready for the late chaos and the speed of everything.
We have about 250 players to do tonight. Make sure to have your queue built up and your late targets ready.
As mentioned and executed night 1 - everyone must nominate. There can be unfair strategic element to skipping nominations. To speed things along I will allow the odd missed/skipped nomination and not reset the timer but won't allow the same team to continue to skip their
-
Sorry Yeah Buddy - hopefully DeGrom is able to return and give you at least a great half season. Good thing is that you'll be able to adjust for Saturday to fill the innings potentially lost
