Soโฆany chance we can alter the draft date? Todd and I are both going to be in Arizona because we surprised our Mom with a trip to Cubs Spring Training for her 80th birthday. Travel starts on 20th and we get back the 24th.
-
Now that arbitration is done, you can cut players without any penalties from now until the end of January. You can also make trades again. You just have to make sure your roster is under the salary limit with enough space to cover open spots on your rosters. Let me know if you have any questions.
-
Just a reminder that today is the last day for Arbitration. If you haven't done so already, please make your allocations by the end of the day. Then, we can go over the next steps once all changes have been processed.
-
Who let this guy in the league? And what stinks...?
-
I tried to dump all my arbitration money on Circle Change but the system wouldn't let me. Can we fix that for next year? :D
-
I just sent an email to everyone with instructions for Arbitration. Let me know if you have any questions as we had a few people that did not allocate all of their $25 last year. Thanks!
-
Congrats J to the Rod on the title!
-
Congrats to Leury's Legends (J-Rod) on the huge week & taking another title! Next up - the offseason and stopping the 3-peat! I don't see any set dates yet but based on last year, arbitration will be around 10/15 until 11/14. During that time, you can't cut or trade players. After that, you can cut & trade until the Keeper Deadline, which was around 1/31. Then, your roster is set until the draft. I'll send out more updates & info once we reach each stage & see who

What are the important off-season dates? Like last day to cut guys before the draft, when cap penalties go away, etcโฆ Thanks fellas.
-
Well boys another season another championship. I have no idea where that 950 points came from that was definitely the most I've scored in a week all year circle. I'll be running it back next year, have to go for the Jordan 3 peat lol.

One suggestion I have for next year is that we take a poll (which I think we always do) about who is actually going to pay attention and make an effort. Most managers do, from what I can tell, but I don't think everyone is fully invested. It's more fun that way and more challenging. FWIW.
-
Holy Crap, Jerry. A 950-burger during the Championship week? Is that the highest point total of the year? I think it is. Makes me think you were sandbagging all year. ;-) 17 HRs sure help. Congrats. Going to try and run it back next year...
-
950 points in the championship game is a statement. Congrats J!
-
Jerry just crushed me this week. Worst beatdown of the season. Congratulations to the champions! Great season, everyone.

Hey everyone! I'll definitely post more once the offseason begins in October and what you'll need to do. We can also look at some changes next year, like changing the season or playoff length. In terms of injuries, I don't know of anywhere that tells you how many you had but if you check the Standings page, you can see how many games you played at each position this year. Good luck in the finals this week! Let me know if you have any questions before the end of the MLB season.
-
I'll go out on a limb and say that I do NOT have the most. Just the worst timing... the ABSOLUTE worst. LOL
-
Is there a way to see season-long injury data by team? It would be interesting to see who had the most missed-player-days.
-
At the risk of sounding whiny (let's be honest, I am whining LOL), I now have lost my 2nd most saves and my 3B to the IL. So in the final weeks of the season, including playoffs, I've lost for multiple days, if not the season (Pitchers) Darvish, Ohtani, and Alzolay; (hitters) Ohtani, Betts, Yelich, Candelario, and Gallo (but I hardly every played Gallo). 19-2 regular season to probably finishing 4th. Super unbelievably frustrating.
-
Thanks, GTIHTF (JUST learned your name is Jason, LOL). I'm Todd. I surely did not make the right pitching decisions on a couple of starts. But the numbers don't lie... it was your hitting (or my lack thereof) that won it for you.
-
Riot fest is this weekend, you might have a chance if I'm too hungover to set my lineups Saturday and Sunday ๐

Great semi-final, Circle Change (sorry I don't know your name)! I got very lucky - pretty much everything went right on Fri and Sun, didn't think I had any chance at all when I was down by 200pts on Wed! Now we'll see if I can maintain the good fortune for one more week. Best wishes for next season. Jason

Also, Eric, congrats on making the playoffs your first year. Impressive.
-
Thanks, Eric. Commish will let us know about deadlines for dropping players, etc. But it won't be for a while. I actually think we should go back to 2 weeks for playoffs if that's how it was. I'm old. I don't remember. Regular season series are 3-4 games and with most playoff series being 7, I think that'd be more "real." Maybe take 1 week off the regular season to make it a round 20 weeks. I think I may have voted to make them one week. LOL. They can hear us. They just ignore us. LOL.
-
Todd, great regular season - you obviously are on top of all this. Yes, the timing going into the playoffs can be cruel. My hitters stopped hitting no matter how loud I yelled at my phone. It's like they can't hear me (but I secretly know they can). One more week of yelling! Is there a list of of things we have to do in the off season? (drop players, etc)?
-
Well if that ain't a kick in the nuts... Ended the season the same way it started. To start, TEN players on the IL. Had a good run in the regular season, but when you have 2 top 10 players, it makes managing easy. Not trying to make any excuses, just relaying what happened. In the last month lost two top pitchers (Ohtani, Darvish). Also lost Ohtani's bat due to his oblique. Lost multiple games in last week with Mookie and Yelich. Ugh. My heart hurts. So do my nuts. Good luck in the Finals.
-
congrats and good luck to all who made the playoffs this season!
-
1 week for each round in the playoffs.
-
How does this playoff thing work? 1 week per round? 2?
-
Thanks, Commish. Stench (Eric), seeing as how you're the team with SIX guys on the 60-day IL, you have to live with getting beat. Especially by me. :-)
-
Ya. 6 of them. Can we get temporary salary cap adjustments to go with the additional roster spots? Todd beat me and I can't live that. :)
-
You get extra roster spots for players on the long term IL. This doesn't apply to the 10 or 15 day IL, but if you have someone on the 60 day IL, you should get an extra roster spot.
-
I feel like I should know this, but why are some rosters capped at 40, and others at 41, 43, and even 46? Thanks in advance.
-
12. Whoever has the voodoo pin in the Circle Change doll, please kindly remove it. Thanks in advance.
-
Did I say 10 on the IL...? I meant 11. WTF?!?
-
Who invited this guy to the league...? What stinks, btw...?
-
I'm having system problems. I keep getting this persistent whining noise from Circle Change about how he can't pick healthy players. Anyone else having this issue? Any IT guidance to help here?
-
I have 9 on the IL...and I cut two others. :)
-
What's the record for the number of players on the IL...? I have TEN. Over 25% of my roster. WTH is going on...?
-
An offensive player is eligible to fill a position if he:
Played in 10+ regular season major league games at that position in the current/preceding year
Started 5+ regular season major league games at that position in the current/preceding year
Played in 20+ regular season minor league games at that position in the current/preceding year

Also, are there really only 10 SP starts available for this long week? That would suck.

When do the positions get updated based on where they have played this season?

Let's play Ball !
-
Just a reminder that the draft is tomorrow night, March 20 at 8PM EDT. See you all then!
-
Thanks for the feedback. We'll keep it at 1 matchup per week.
-
I'm good with 1 or 2 matchups per week.

I'm with Brewery Boys on this one, taking away the 1v1 aspect of H2H would ruin half the fun of it.

I would prefer one matchup per week but I don't feel too strongly. I think that have the high variance that comes with a single matchup is part of the fun of playing in a H2H league.

I'm good with 1 or 2 matchups. 4 might be a little much.
-
Quick update - the 12th team in the league has been claimed, so we now have a full league again. The draft is next and is set for the 20th.
I also wanted to see everyone's interest on one of the settings. There is an option to have either 1, 2, or 4 matchups per week. If we choose 2 or 4, the matchup would still last the entire week; you would just play 2 or 4 other teams all at once. This would result in 44 or 88 total games for the season. What does everyone else think?
