Hey guys, I got a little ahead of myself and cut a couple players I would like back. Is there a way I can get the following players back on my roster:
Walls
Wade
Lux
Kepler
If not, understand.

Welcome to the league!

Hello everyone. Thank you for having me. Big fan of baseball, but please bare with me as I learn this league.
Everyone on my team is for sale, for the right price. Looking to start with batters. Please send me something to consider.

Sorry to see you go steal your base. I have a friend who would want to join if we don't have someone else lined up to take over the team.

Hey guys, I don’t have time to pay attention like I used to. I’m gonna resign and let someone else take the spot. Thanks for a fun few seasons.

Ohtani is available

I will entertain offers on everyone except ohtani.
-
I like and don’t like it. Because normally teams go all out and then leave the league afterwards.

Ohhh, yea. That's kind of a staple of ottoneu. There's a lot of discussion about it in old posts about it in the community. There are even badges for having $200 dollars in loans ($600 in cap) or loaning out $200 ($200 in cap).
-
Just to be clear: I was being serious about learning how to use the cap. Getting loans in the deals to allow teams to blow through the cap is pretty brilliant. Much harder with a hard cap.

The hunter brown deal included two pickups (Sheehan and noda, who papi had cut a few weeks before the trade). But again, I don't think anyone is faulting you in this. You're just taking advantage of the opportunity presented by a team that makes illogical decisions (the current trade also includes a guy you added -bailey- that papi cut a month ago)

I don't know what else to say Reign....Go look at all the deals made this year. Aside from this deal I just made and Bibee deal which ended up being Moniak (who's still crushing it) and Raley (also still crushing it), those are the only waiver pickup deals I made and McLain was a waiver pickup by BPM so I don't really get where I'm constantly making these moves. I've made two and they usually leave me with depth issues. I drafted Abreu and Shuster for Springer deal who I dropped.

We did trade for high end players but we also gave up quality and quantity in exchange. I think we can all agree that trading is something that makes fantasy a lot more fun, but a lot of wild things deals got done because he could always supplement the set backs with free trade assets from big papi. It's a really successful blueprint. Pick up guys off waviers, flip the waiver picks ups to papi for real assets, then package those newly acquired assets for studs.
-
I do agree with the commitment portion, but every league usually has someone with questionable decision making. Just the other day I saw Yelich get dealt for Urshela with loan covered and all from last place team to 4th place team. Maybe only time I’ve ever voted to veto a trade. It still went through.

If anything Reignman has benefited quite a bit from me being in the league in terms of acquiring “best players”. This year more than others you can be quite successful with not so big names.

I traded Reignmen Gunnar, Tucker and Alcantara for hurt Altuve, hurt Bryant, hurt Verlander, hurt Nestor, Alvarez and Giolito. Aside from Semien, Valdez, and Brown. Those are the only two players I’ve received my BPM that I still have. I drafted Soto, Ramirez, Ozzie, Randy, Yoshida, JD.

The larger point about papi making numerous bad deals with you stands though. I don't think anyone faults you for proposing/accepting these, but there's no discernable competitive reason for papi to be making these moves. Couple that with the fact that papi is in 125+ leagues, and I think it's logical to question the efficacy of his team and commitment to this league.
-
I just like wheeling and dealing. Most of my loan money actually came from that Acuña deal if you take a deeper dive.

Ha, Steinbrenner didn't have a feeder team like big papi that gave him all their best players and all their cap space. That makes things a little easier.
-
I need a salary cap lesson from Wild Thing! Way over the cap, and still makes moves to get better…He’s the Steinbrenner of our league

To clarify my perspective, I don't have an issue with anything Wild Thing did. If I received an offer of Bibee and $8 for Burleson I would have also accepted in a second. I would then expect it to get vetoed because it's so indefensible on Papi's side.
-
George springer isn’t good anymore. wild thing just had to cut him and nobody wanted him at his price.

There's player evaluation again. In my opinion Bryan Abreu, one of the two said nobodies as stated by Rhys. He's a stud (look at statcast too) at $1 salary and probably Houston's closer next year. Also Springer is now just sitting in the waiver wire.
I'm fine with the veto, and looking to move past it as well, but I don't know anyone in this league. I play with non-dynasty strategy for the most part, b/c of the fact that player evaluations change daily in my opinion.

We also NEVER veto, but with no context it's hard to rationalize this trade without assuming some sort of collusion or maybe Papi is giving up on the league and trying to spike it on the way out. Trading expensive guys for prospects and big loans is very justifiable once you've been eliminated from the playoffs and are just trying to get setup for the next draft.
-
My reason for veto isn't because it made your team better wild thing, it's more to do with the fact that papi regularly bids twice as much as anyone on young players, didn't bid on bleday, then 5 days later, gives up his most promising starter who is looking like a great keeper for next year, shortly after giving you springer for two nobodies. I'm not saying it's collusion, but it did raise some fishiness flags for me
-
Considering this is our 1st ever vetoed trade in 3 years, I'm not very concerned that vetoes are going to become regular
-
I hope it’s water under the bridge, because I love trading and don’t want my trades to keep getting vetoed just because my team is doing well at the moment. Player evaluations are different for everyone and change daily based on performances just like the stock market.

I abstained from voting and think veto should only be used in cases of collusion, which this is not. Even if a trade seems odd or we feel like more value should have been received if 2 teams agree they have their own reasoning. Since this trade got vetoed, what is going to happen at the trade deadline when stars are being traded for cheap players and prospects and $100 loans. IMO, those trades are way worse with direct impacts on playoffs. Are all trades going to be vetoed? It's a slippery slope
-
I think this was a one off situation and I doubt we'll become a veto happy league. For me, I consider my threshold to veto a trade is pretty high. I think this trade was the perfect storm of Bleday having just been auctioned for $3 and the history of loans between the teams. As far as I'm concerned, it's water under the bridge. Carry on!
-
From my perspective, I don't understand how the evaluation of Bleday goes from not willing to put a bid on him to trading your best pitcher plus $ in less than a week. I'm all for letting people manage their teams as they see fit, but I also find this trade pretty indefensible. It's the first trade I've ever vetoed in 20 years of fantasy sports, so I don't anticipate this being a normal thing
-
I abstained and I still don’t think it’s the most egregious trade this league has seen… Sorry you’re having to defend yourselves.
-
This league has ridiculous trades happening all the time. I didn’t vote to veto this one. People have different strategies. Hopefully we don’t become a veto-happy league.

I didn’t think vetoes actually happened, but it wasn’t a colluding trade nor do I know Big Papi personally. I’m just very active on the trade front so I’m always sending offers and sometimes get counteroffers. Some hit some miss. But I’ve never had one vetoed. Open to offers and making deals whenever.

Did wild things join the 3 sport league big papi memories was talking about? that's about the only way this bleday for bibee and cash trade makes any sense...

Kirilloff mistake
I meant to just drop Massey. Not both him and Kirilloff. Could I get Kirilloff taken off waivers please?

Happy Opening Day! Good luck to everyone this year.

3 sport?? Can you tell me more?
-
I run a 3 sport dynasty league with salary cap and contracts and have an opening. If anyone is interested, send me a message.

No worries. I was willing to take the 50% salary penalty too and just free up $8 more for the draft. But is what it is.
-
Unfortunately Reignmen, I agree with Sweet Spot and Rhys Pieces, injuries are just a part of the game, although the circumstances of this injury are rough!
