Last years format is fine with me

I am good with that, as well. Really looking forward to it!

We are good with using last year's format

Tentative start date for the CouchManagers slow draft will be around 9 a.m. EST on March 13th.
In total, we have about 150 players to draft. Last year we started with two nominations per team, 12 hour time limit (where it resets to 12 hours for each new bid). So that made for roughly 24 players up for auction at a time.
Then after about 50 players were drafted, we moved to 3 nominations per team (roughly 36 players ran at a time).
Do we want to run it bac

Everyone is renewed and cuts have been made! Draft prep season begins! Draft will likely start March 13. Good luck to everyone and enjoy (or loathe) our break from baseball now!
-
Tentative start date for our slow draft will be Monday, March 13. We have someone who can't really start until then, and I want to push it up a week or so because of the earlier season start date compared to last year.
-
Happy cut deadline day! Remember that all cuts are due by 11:59 EST.
-
So just a heads up, we will be using Couch Managers again (like last year) for our auction. Last year we started on Saturday, March 19th, so I would guess we will just start it around there (maybe this year Saturday, March 18th). So make your final cuts and then either relax or grind researching players until mid March. Exciting times!

After two disappointing seasons, I am abandoning my team... name. I will now be known as HGH This Sucka!
-
I will be back, my team will look almost exactly the way it does now
-
I have stressed the renewals lately, but reminder that the cut deadline is also January 31. Pretty soon we will know what teams look like and who will be available at the March auction!
-
Reminder! You have two weeks until your league dues need to be paid in order to ensure that you don't lose access to your team. Thank you to the 4 managers who have already reupped and are ready for 2023!
You can pay those dues on the ottoenu dashboard! Message me with any questions!
-
Hey all, I was messaged by one of the parties to undo the trade as it was not sent as intended. Given the immediacy of the request and nothing involving real-life trades or injuries affecting it, I have canceled the trade.
-
Happy 2023 to everyone. I see the trade market is still active and the stove is piping hot. Reminder that January 31st is both the KEEPER deadline and also the RENEW YOUR DUES deadline. So please make sure to be ready for both at end of month.
You can renew your team from your user dashboard: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/userdashboard.

I know we have some passionate Canadians in our league. Who wants to take on Canadian born and face of the Blue Jays, Vlad Jr? Hit me up, lets make a deal!
-
Yeah, I'm back for sure. No one has contacted me via message, so I'm assuming we are good to go for 12 returning! I guess we will see once the deadline comes for payment. If you don't reup your league fees by Jan 31, it will boot you. But we have a couple months before that happens. Hopefully we are set for another great year!

I am definitely back. This is one of my favorite things to do!

I’ll be back for sure

Is everyone coming back? I know Wooden asked that a couple weeks back and no one said they weren't so I'm going to assume everyone is back!? This will now be our third year and I have to say that it just keeps getting better and better. Can't wait for ball season already!!

Hey guys don’t forget to claim any badges you might have earned. https://community.ottoneu.com/badges

Looks like arbitration has been completed by everyone! You can still change until the deadline, but it’s awesome everyone has already allocated! Trades reopen in a few weeks, too. Even the off season is exciting in ottoneu.
-
Yeah I mean I hope so. I guess we will know for sure by Jan 31 when you have to renew your teams. But I hope we can roll over the same owners and get some longevity going into these rivalries/matchups.

Is everyone coming back..? I see only Love Sup.. Is the only one not finished with Arb.. Great f'n league.

Anyone object to renaming the league and/or divisions to something more baseball related? Any massive LotR fans (or whoever else) that would object to us renaming? The league and divisions were named before my time, and I wouldn't mind going more baseball related, personally.

Arbitration is open y’all!
You have $25 to allocate to opposing rosters. For your arb to count:
1. You must use all $25
2. You must allocate at least $1 to all 11 opponents.
3. You can only add a max of $3 to each team.
If any of these rules aren’t followed then your arb won’t count.
Arbitration closes on Nov 15. Let me know if you have any questions!
-
Thanks for the update. Not concerned, just wondered if there were issues because I’m Canadian…lol
-
A few quick updates. Per Niv, mandatory salary increases will take effect tonight and loans and cap penalties will disappear. Cuts still don't have to be made until Feb 15.
Payouts are tentatively scheduled to be sent tomorrow via PayPal. Arbitration begins Oct. 15!
-
Anyone receive their winnings yet?
-
"Trades will be allowed during the offseason from when arbitration voting is completed (Nov 15) until the keeper deadline (Feb 15)."
Correction to my previous post: Keeper deadline (aka cut deadline) is Feb 15.

Here's a link to an Ottoneu Community thread on key dates over the next few days: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/end-of-the-2022-baseball-season-megathread/12158.
Other than BallsDeep needing to make 1 cut, no teams will HAVE to make any cuts until the cut deadline at end of January.
Arbitration officially begins Oct. 15. So be ready to allocate those funds to the opposing teams!
-
Reminder: The deadline to start end-of-season auctions is 11:59 p.m. eastern time tonight. Rosters will lock on Oct. 6.
-
Reminder: Teams must get their cap status to legal by the end of the regular MLB season. So you need to be below your team’s -current- cap (which may be higher or lower than the $400 original cap) AND you need to ensure you have below the proper number of players.
Rules cover this in section I.b, I.c, and V.h

All that business clarified and out of the way, what an awesome season we had. I know that I had frequent contact with almost every team trying to wheel and deal throughout the season. It ended with a blistering hot run by Balls Deep to win the 'ship. Congrats to him on the trophy, and congrats to Lightsaber on being a 6 seed runner up. Keep an eye on auctions and cuts that you might want to scoop up until MLB season ends. Then we just sit and wait until October arbitration! (more on that later)

Final Commish Note For Now: So while you can make cuts legally now, you're likely just helping other teams get discounts on guys now (vs. them costing their "true value" at auction next year) to very little benefit for your own team. No new auction can be started from MLB last regular season day (technically two days before) to our auction in late March. So that's when you likely want to make cuts and not give discounts to other teams. THAT SAID, it's your team. If you wanna cut now, y
-
Commish: Just to clarify, salaries and cap "still matter" until end of regular MLB season. But between MLB season and February 15th, no auctions can be started for free agent players. So between those dates is when you want to cut your players. Then, by 2/15, you have to get your salary legal for the cap reset to $400. So by 2/15 everyone will make cuts to get their rosters below 40 men and $400. There is arbitration in late Oct/early Nov, but beyond that fun wrinkle, I'd save cuts for
-
Commish Note: Hey all. Just a reminder that there’s not much reason to be cutting guys right now. I know that some auctions are going but right now cutting guys just makes it possible for someone else to get guys cheaper now vs at auction next year (and salary cap won’t matter until the cut deadline around Jan 31). So I’d reconsider making a bunch of cuts right now because you’ll have most off-season before you have to make those cut decisions. If you have Qs about the process, please post here.
