Congrats all on making to the end of the regular season. Everyone's rosters look good. The next step is arbitration which begins on Oct 15. No cuts or trades for a while now. I am waiting on contact info for a possible replacement of Wooden Hamstring. I'd like to get him replaced before arb starts, but we will see what happens.

Commish: We have a few auctions still taking place before season ends, so just a reminder that teams need to be made legal as soon as possible and before the end of MLB season. Any teams that are not legal are going to be subject to having transactions reversed. (I obviously hope/don't expect to have to do this, but I want to be clear on it). You cannot move into the offseason with a red, illegal roster. Looking forward to the offseason; it's what makes ottoneu unique!
-
Playoffs are done. Ottoneu H2H stops a week early to avoid weird pitching stuff. Which still we had a lot of that this last week.
-
Playoffs last 1 more week right?

Thanks again for a great season and congrats Legends on another ship!!! It was yet again a great fantasy season, we have a great league and I'm looking forward to the off season. We have one manager that isn't coming back correct? Or did I imagine that?
-
(cont.): This means you can still make cuts and complete auctions. You need to have your roster in legal shape after the regular season ends (legal here meaning whatever your cap currently is. If you have a $420 cap, then you are fine being >$400 as long as you're <$421).
Once the regular season ends, cuts cannot be made until after arbitration (11/14). After 11/14, trades and cuts can resume before the keeper deadline of 1/31.
Make sure to read the rules,
-
Congrats on another great season to everyone, including those lucky enough to sneak to a championship. That said:
Reminder that auctions are still open to free agents or anyone cut between now and the end of the regular MLB season.
Rule V.h: Transactions can be requested...until the next-to-last day of the regular season. All auctions must be completed prior to midnight ( EST)of the last day of games of the season.

Great season brew jays.
-
What a bad beat haha. My biggest week in ages and I lose to a monster week! Great week legend! Best of luck to the final 4 teams!
-
Commish Note: The Taylor Ward drop was a misclick. He messaged me pretty quickly after, so I readded to Hub's roster. Carry on with playoffs fun everyone.
-
What a season. If today finishes as it stands right now we’ve got two teams in, Brew Jays with a 1 game lead to hold and five teams at 10-10 competing for three, possibly four spots. Down to the wire.
-
I don’t know how many more points I could have put up to get a win this week, bandaid pitching staff!! looks like a few remaining playoff spots will come down to the final week What a ride Good luck !
-
I’m looking for a catcher if anyone has a spare
-
Semi interesting fact. Swamp, legends and hub city are the only teams that made the playoffs both of the leagues first two years. Swamp and I are in this year, if legends misses we will be the only threepeaters
-
I figured legends was a shoe in to make the playoffs after the moves he made but with a loss this week its not looking great. He will have the tie breaker though
-
Your stress makes me really glad I’ve got this bye pretty well wrapped up.
-
...also 2 battles have 4/5 top weekly points; oh how matchups matter lol. Whomever gets Woody for the last 2 should be smiling!
-
Crazy to me that in week 19/21 6 teams at 9-9 are head to head, with the 3 winners in those matchups getting the last 3 playoff spots. This is too fucking stressful...I can't sleep!
-
Commish Note: Notice at the top of the page that there have recently been some issues with GMail receiving emails from ottoneu. So...yeah. Just wanted to make sure everyone saw that. That's all. Carry on the wild matchups this week!
-
And all the 9-9 teams head to head this week
-
3 weeks left of regular season, should be very interesting! What parity!!!!!
-
ha this crazy. half of the teams in the league at 9-9
-
Have a good one woody! You'll be missed!
-
Updated my block, looking to pick up a difference maker for the playoff run, let me know who might be available
-
You’ll be missed, it was always fun interacting with you in the league
-
It's been great. But... Ill be resigning this year. I just can't keep up with the constant new players that are cycling through the mlb these days. And without the ability to keep any studs due to the yearly salary increases I'm just loosing touch. Much Respect all.

I threw in the towel at least 5 times yesterday lol
-
Ohtani dancer kept hope alive by .43 points this week. Amazing
-
I’m looking to deal a starter for an OF upgrade and a top end RP if anyone is interested
-
To back up what Swamp said, I think Ottoneu is every bit as much about managing money and getting smart, sustainable contracts as it is about accumulating baseball talent. One strategy I used last year to decent effect is keeping a cheap guy that I thought would attract a lot of salary increases until after that point and then trading him off so the increase didn’t affect my roster this year and kept my other guys cheaper. Lots of fun ways to play with the financial rules.

We actually do have a discord but no one has used it since last April… https://discord.gg/89sZBSgB

Money in a trade. If I’m paying for a contract I want a bigger return than if I wasn’t but I think everyone is adjusting as they learn what works and what doesn’t. But deadline deals trading stars for younger better contracts is just baseball.
-
Wasn’t going to but here is my two cents on everything mentioned. First of all the trade is fine, do I think if shopped more maybe could have got more value maybe? But the aggressive owners get rewarded as they should. Relationships are important. Ottoneu isn’t really a dynasty league it’s more of a keeper league. You can rebuild really quick. At end of year you should sell your non keepers if you are out of it. That’s just baseball. I think the league under values including…
-
I just hope this trade pays off for me. I'm on the outside looking in for playoffs with only a few matchups left!
-
By the way, for any team that is looking to sell off, Encarncaion Strand (finally got the call!), Manzardo, Caminero, Holliday, Jordan Walker, are all OTB. Looking for an impact SP and bat like Soto and Cole!
-
This seems to me like a fairly even trade. 2 big upside arms in Sheehan and Ashby (Yes, I still have faith in him!), a solid arm in Allen, and 2 potential 20-20 guys, one at 2B which is a pretty shallow position for most likely a 2-month rental in Soto and Cole, an obvious superstar who could stay in the team for at least one more year. What's the issue?
-
Did I mention we should have a Discord?

The sad part about this is that the turn over of players each year is so high because of inflation, that I can't get good prospects. They are worth way way too much because of our inflation rules by adding money to All the good players and forcing teams to dump the top end players each year. Sure it make the draft more interesting and technically creates so parady but it stifles trades and harbors extreme values for prospects... Thus creating this horrible trade.

By the way, we all should really have a discord. This message board is horrible.

I hear you guys. My team has tanked. I wanted to get rid of two guys who I wouldn't be keeping anyhow and get something that could stick. Ya, injuries have crushed my team. Bichette is on the block by the way..... But if you all want to reverse it, that's up to you. I do agree the league set up to allow for a team to go so far over the cap, is a major problem. I would suggest that it's a well planned strategy by the top teams seeing it happens every year. It make the draft seem meaningless kinda

Maybe but it’s his call whether to go for it or rebuild. I did something similar last year, flipping expensive guys for cheaper ones once I decided my team probably wasn’t good enough to actually win it
-
No issues here.
-
I'm not sure I feel the same. Hamstring has a chance to make playoffs and has the second easiest schedule the rest of the way. He's right I there with the rest of us!
-
If I were in hamstrings spot with injuries I’d be flipping every high dollar asset I could for cheap guys like Allen and India. Get 25 guys like that you can just buy Soto again next year
-
I think it’s fine personally. I doubt Soto is a keeper so he’s a two month rental, I’d the league is smart Cole gets 10 or 12 dollars added to his salary and also ends up a keeper, but even if not a 4 or 5 dollar Logan Allen and a 12 or 15 dollar India are great pieces to build around.
-
It’s hard to tell, if any of these players pan out it could be. At first glance no it doesn’t because Soto, Cole are stars. I feel that if the league had a hard cap, trades at the end of the year like these wouldn’t happen. Going 150-200 over the cap is a bit much, there is no restriction. Maybe we can consider capping the existing cap lol
-
Anybody else think that trade isn't fair????? 🤔 #asswhopping
-
Been a very fun year so far, I’m looking forward to seeing who hoists the trophy at the end
-
Congrats on making it to the all star break, everyone! We are two-thirds of the way through our regular season, so it should be a fun final stretch run here after the break!
-
Manny machado is available if anyone wants to gamble on a bounce back. He won’t cost a ton
