See everyone at the draft tomorrow night
-
Nothing retroactive in Ottoneu. Only games played after the auction will count for league scoring.
-
My understanding is that the Tokyo games do not count if the draft is not completed before the 18th?

Welcome!

Evening all, new guy here, name is John, took over Oscarville, now the Slump Busters, long time fantasy baseball player, first time with Ottoneu...bear with me as I get used to it all...
-
Draft date set for March 24th - that day worked for all teams that completed the survey
-
Just joined under the gun. Looking to trade so big names for peanuts before the cut. Check trade block and send them over. I will be up late EST to try to get some things done. Big names can be had for peanuts if you can take the salary. Looking forward to playing with you all.

What browser are you using to renew?

Not sure about the browser issue - but on the trades, yes, you can make trades up to the deadline.
-
Can you still make trades if they are agreed upon by tomorrow Jan 31st? Also, am trying to renew for 2025 and it's telling me my browser needs to enable location, but my location on browser is enabled and it's still locking me out..Can someone assist? SM

Hey all, I’m very sorry for the last minute notice but I’m not going to be able to keep this team. Unfortunately some things have changed in my personal life and I just can’t give the time necessary to be an engaged, active manager here. Hopefully you can find someone quickly as there are some intriguing trade offers out to my team. Thanks all and best of luck!
-
Hey Everyone - Just a quick, one-week out, reminder that cut day is Friday by midnight EST. Rosters lock at that point until the draft. If you haven't filled out your availability for the draft, please do this week. Also, please get your 2026 dues paid by Friday as well. Thanks!
-
Howdy everybody. I've just claimed Miracle Mets here.
I'll be getting my team shorted shortly, but expect it to be an open house. Send me any offers you've got.
Excited to ramp up the offseason!
Cheers.

Lastly, the Miracle Mets let me know this weekend that they would not be able to participate next year. I will mark this team as abandoned on Monday. If anyone knows of someone that is interested in taking over that team, let me know before that and I will transfer it over. Otherwise it will go on the open market Monday.
-
Speaking of draft date, I have put together a pull that you can access at: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/bo8mLVzd Please complete your availability and we'll get a draft date scheduled in March by early February so that everyone has plenty of notice. The Cubs/Dodgers do kick things off in Tokyo with two games on March 18 and 19. We have traditionally not draft with these international games in mind. In other words, I am not very concerned about drafting prior to those dates.
-
Next, just a quick reminder that the cut deadline is 1/31 @ 11:59 EST. That is the deadline to make free cuts to your roster prior to the draft. That is also the transaction deadline. Rosters will lock at that point until after the draft. Second, please remember to renew your team by 1/31 as well. We have 6 owners that still need to pay their dues by the 1/31 deadline. If dues are not paid by 2/4, I will release your team so that we make sure we have a full league by draft date.
-
Hey Everyone - A few housekeeping notes as we begin to wind down to draft time. First, the previous owner of The Kluszewskinators and I have been co-commissioner for the past couple of years. In all reality, he was the commissioner. I will take over that role for this season. However, if anyone has ever had an interest in being a commissioner, let me know, and we can talk about adding you.

Hi all! Jason here. I am pleased to take on team built by my friend Ryan. This look like a fun league and I hope to start making some moves in the near future. I will just need to review the league rosters a bit to get up to speed. Looking forward to a great season!
-
Good luck with your textbook. Will miss competing against you.

Hey all! I’m afraid I’m going to be stepping away from Ottoneu this year. My wife and I are going to be working on a textbook together and I am constitutionally incapable of only half-doing Ottoneu. Jason Mycoff has agreed to take over my squad. He’s a longstanding Ottoneu player and should be a pleasure to compete with. I’ve loved playing with you all and wish you the best of luck in this upcoming season!
-
I have also updated trade block

You can cut players at no penalty now and until January 31 (which is when your roster needs to be legal). You cannot bid on players until (and after) the auction. Anyone cut now stays cut and can be bid on during the auction.
-
When are we allowed to Cut players where it costs us nothing and the cut players can be bid on until Draft Day? SM
-
After a disappointing 8th place finish mainly because of an inconsistent offense, I’m ready to deal some of this young MLB and top prospect talent I acquired, to upgrade offense. The only position players unavailable are Westburg, Caminero, Butler and Rooker.. Pitching wise, Skenes and King are the only no-trade pieces. Looking for offensive additions that produce in all categories, Duran, Carroll, Merrill types…Also could use quality SP and pure closer..SM

Thank you to all of those that have completed their arbitration allocations. There are three teams who still haven't completed arb, so I'm going to have a couple of proxies from outside the league assign that money. If those owners wish to change those allocations they can do so up until 11:59pm eastern. Thanks!
-
Hey crew! Just a couple more days to get arbitration allocated. Be sure you have it submitted by 11/14/24. Thanks!
-
Quick reminder - arbitration must be completed by November 14. You've got 9 days!
-
Hey Everyone - We have 15 days left of arbitration and to this point, only 3 teams participate. I understand that some like to wait until the end, but to maintain a healthy league we really do need to have 90-100% participation. Either Kluszenwskinators or I am happy to answer any Arb-related questions. If you are not planning to continue in the league, please let both of us know.
-
Thanks K's! It was a fun, competitive season. Looking forward to next year! Congratulations!

Good season everyone! All Proofs, you had a hell of a run there in the second half. Great work!
Everyone’s rosters look good going into the offseason. Please make sure you’re still legal before they freeze. Thanks and happy postseason!
-
Doesn't look like this will be a problem here, but a reminder that all teams must have legal rosters at the close of the season. Any rosters that show as illegal on Sunday night will need to get within roster spot and salary limits within 48 hours. Roster and salary limits include any loans and/or 60-day IL additions, so you do not need to get to 40/$400, just legal as of eligibility on Sunday.
-
Plus, I have a sneaking suspicion that you’ll see Bazzana available in the offseason draft 😂
-
I can’t see a benefit to adding a rule requiring preemptive drops. The default rule set addresses this pretty explicitly and requiring preemptive drops would be overly punitive to players who make those drops and don’t win the auction. There’s a benefit to not knowing everyone’s potential max bid and helps maintain a consistent market value for free agents.
-
It’s literally in the rules:
Teams are allowed to bid such that they would go over roster or cap limits if they win the auction. If they do win the auction, they will have to get under roster and cap limits before they can set their lineups, make trades, or bid on other auctions
-
In that case, the manager would have to drop a player on his roster to re-coup the money that he wanted to bid on that free agent.. He should not be allowed to bid whatever amount if it’s not already covered in his budget when he makes that bid..You are allowing him to do it after the fact and I don’t think that’s right..I knew I was going to bid 24 dollars for that player so before the auction, I dropped a player to make sure I was able to afford that 24 dollar bid..SM
-
I am thinking $25 bucks for a player that will not sniff the big league club till next year is too rich for my blood.

The team has to be able to get legal, they don’t have to be legal. In your suggestion, a manager with $0 available could never auction a player. Obviously that’s not feasible. There’s nothing wrong with any bid as long as the manager has the ability to get legal if they win at their max bid.
-
I understand that, but he bid $50.00 for the auction, did not have that in his budget at the time and won the auction..Then he dropped a 51 dollar player to cover his budget..That should've been done before the aucton deadline if he saw himself making a 50 dollar bid..The way he did it does not seem fair or just...I just think a new rule should be set for this exact situation for next season.. SM
-
In the scenario you outlined, the team would be over the cap limit and their roster/lineup would be locked until they were able to get back under the cap. They literally could not see their lineup daily until they were back under the cap.
-
You might consider this a sore loser point of view..But I think a new rule should be set when bidding on a free agent in an auction, the bid should be no more than what that team has in their budget..I made a high bid last night but I still had it covered in my budget..The opposing team that won the auction did not have his bid in his budget..If this continues, somebody could bid $100 and nothing could stop him from doing so..
-
Freddie Freeman available for equal return..Willing to pay some of his salary as well.. SM
-
D-Backs 1B Christian Walker available in trade…
