Sorry guys but im going to bail on this season and the league. After seeing all the positive cases and players saying they may sit out this season is going to be a complete fluke if it even happens at all. Ive completely lost interest in MLB and fantasy at this point. Please send my buyin back to me. Hope you guys can keep the league going. Good luck guys, its been fun.

I thought this plan out and want to not push people into playing. I think this 60 game season will be different, but still fun. I think it will work and I’m hoping all 11 others play. Please let me know what you think or want to add other ideas or plans cause I don’t want this to be a dictatorship, but I also feel like putting out a plan is part of my responsibility and it’s easier for everyone to follow. If you do want to commit or decommit, feel free to let me know on the message board.
-
You will be able to keep your team for next year and will pick up at arbitration and cuts. The thought behind this is if a team isn’t playing, they shouldn’t be able to be impacting potential pickups for guys that are playing. If Mike Trout is on a team that is choosing not to play this year, Mike Trout is locked on a bench for the year. That kind of sucks, but it also doesn’t affect the rest of the league by him going into free agency.
-
You have to indicate whether you are in or out. If you are in, everything is normal and I keep your $100 for a pool. Nothing really changes other than you are playing for 2 months instead of 6 months. If you vote no and are choosing to be out, I will give you back your $100. But I will take control of your team for the year, lock it, and have everyone on the bench for the year and your team will collect no stats in ottoneu. You will also not be allowed to pick up anyone for the year.

Sounds like we are going to get a season. I know no one here wanted 60 games, but we at least have some baseball. I am really hoping everyone wants to participate in these 60 games and we have a fun race to see who wins this year. I do understand there might be 1 or 2 people thinking they aren't sure or really don't want to. With that being said, we at least are in the benefit of being a roto league so if someone doesn't want to participate, it doesn't effect everyone. Here is my proposal:
-
I’m waiting to see if we do have a season and how we want to do this. I’m annoyed as well with mlb and also questioning what amount of games is worth what dollar amount. Let’s wait til the dust clears on what they will do and I’ll bring discussion back of what we want to do.
-
Im ready to get a refund on this league and retire from fantasy baseball. These negotiations have me extremely soured on MLB. If they play, this season is going to be bullshit

Hard to know what a contingency plan may look like when we don't know what the season will look like. I say we cross that bridge when there is a final decision. No reason to make a determination at this time.

Agree, I’m ok with whatever amount of games they give us. Got to believe we get a least a half season in.
-
My 2 cents is that we play it normal whether they get in 10 games or all of them. But if there is a majority who thinks otherwise, that is fine by me too. At this point, I am worried if there is even going to be a season...hope I'm wrong.
-
I’m saying, should we have or vote on a contingency plan in case the season is short, or too short to definitively determine a winner.
I’m cool too if everyone thinks that an abbreviated season is sufficient. Just bringing it up.
-
My gut is we start June 1 and play into October getting us 144 games. I’ve been wrong many times but that is my gut.
-
Should we begin to prepare for the possibility of a cancelled season? Or a season that contains too small a sample size whereby it would be irresponsible to count as a full season with full winnings.
-
Sounds good. Looking forward to it. Need something baseball related to cling to.
-
To clarify, we are still doing the draft Saturday night.
-
Everyone has paid so we are good to go whenever the season does start. I think we still do a draft Saturday night since we have all made time and we just hammer it out and be ready to go whenever the season opens up.
-
I was wondering if we should postpone the draft...I read that online groups greater then 10 people have a higher incidence of contracting the COVID-19 virus..also just paid

7/12 teams have paid.

Reminder for draft night Saturday at 7 central time. I have collected fees from 4/12 teams so far. I would like to get those taken care of before the draft. Again I'll take paypal or venmo.

I have 3/12 so far. Good start. Like I said before, I would like them before the draft.

Is anyone opposed to me collecting fees via paypal or venmo? I'm getting a little sick of the payout part of paypal in terms of how you have to use it. If no opposition, lets do venmo or paypal. Derek.ouren@gmail.com is paypal. Derek-Ouren is venmo.
Payment due by the draft so we are locked in. Thanks!!!

Official Draft Date/Time: March 14 at 7pm Central

LOL. At least Clevinger's surgery is on his knee. Better for a pitcher to have surgery on his leg than his pitching arm!
-
Spring training games played: 0
Players on my team having surgery: 4
Going to be a great year!!

I've heard nothing back so far. I'm going to throw out March 14 at 7pm Central out again. If I hear nothing back by Wednesday, I'm going to lock that date in.
-
We need to get a date and time picked out especially those like me with kids and social lives. I have checked with a couple people, and I'm gonna throw out a date and time for the draft. Let's try doing the same we did last year. Please only respond if you can't make this work and we can try to find an alternative day. March 14 7pm Central time.

Also your last chance to make a trade

Annual reminder you need to make cuts by 11:59pm ET on Friday Night. Remember this is your last chance to have free cuts. After this time, you need to pay a fee for every person you cut. Starting next week I'm going to throw a date out for the draft after talking to a couple people.

Jaiden Malucci has taken over the Nature Boys. I’m assuming name will be changing but I just assigned him the team. His dad is Jeff and owns the droids. He has experience and I think will do a good job. I just thought it was important to be transparent that we have a father and son. I put no rules about trading with each other but just told them we all expect no collusion. We should be good to go for next year. Enjoy the off season.
-
Great work commish. Appreciate you keeping this rolling.
-
Otherwise, have a good break everyone. I will let everyone know when I fill the last spot officially and will be checking in about cuts on January 31st. At that time I will also try to nail down a draft date and time that works for everyone. Thanks guys for a good year!
-
I put Otto Nudes allocations in. I'll put his choices here so everyone can see and it's transparent.
$3 Pete Alonso
$2 Yordan Alvarez
$2 Christian Yelich
$2 Gerrit Cole
$1 each:
Luis Castillo
Alex Bregman
Hyun-Jin Ryu
Francisco Lindor
Justin Verlander
Mike Clevinger
Eugenio Suarez
Jose Berrios
Rafael Devers
Tyler Glasnow
Matt Chapman
Keston Hiura
Chris Paddack
Ketel Marte
Max Muncy
Cody Bellinger

Looks like everyone got allocation in but Otto-Nudes. I talked to Scott and he was planning on doing it tonight but missed it by a couple of minutes. I have talked to him and he will be getting me a list of his 25$ and I will input that in the morning. From there, everyone would have done allocation and we are ready for cuts. I am close to filling the Nature Boys slot so we should be good to go for next year. I'll let you know when I fill it for sure. Thanks guys.
