Reminder that the Keeper deadline is TODAY, in 2 hours. Make sure to get your cuts in before 11:59 EST, 10:59 CST, 9:59 MST, 8:59 PST, etc.

Looks that way, but 2 of them have been abandoned since early last season. The other 2 had been active in the offseason, so maybe they’re just waiting out the lockout before paying? I don’t see any available teams to claim on the dashboard page.

Am I reading it wrong or did 4 teams expire on Jan. 31?

Keeper deadline moved out 2 weeks to 2/15. It looks like the only 2 inactive teams we have are Scrappy & Mac, but they're not officially dead/abandoned yet?

Trades are allowed from end of arbitration until the keeper deadline which is indeed January 31st.
If you go to the tools tab, you will see the important calendar dates.

yes. trades are allowed until the keeper deadline, which I think is Jan. 31 but I can't find that exact date anywhere in the rules.

Alright, the change has been made to allocation. Make sure you use all of your allocation dollars before the deadline. As a reminder, at least $1 has to be assigned to each team and no mare than $3 to any team otherwise none of your allocations will count.

Thanks!

We did I believe have a number of people that wanted to make the switch. I was hesitant to do it until I got confirmations of people returning but as that seems to be the consensus anyway I have reached out to Ottoneu to make the switch.

I agree -- I prefer the arb system rather vote-off, if we can make the switch

Arb is still set up as vote-off, not salary increase? Didn’t we get a consensus to switch?

Thanks! Lynn and Wheeler were certainly clutch haha. And it seemed like there was a lot of interest in switching!

Also, did we agree to switch from voting off to regular arbitration or not? Seems like we had enough active teams this year, except for the last place squad.

That's usually the sign of a healthy league, I like this one no horrible trade offers, on that note Nine lets make a trade.

Guys, I would appreciate it if you cut better players. Combing the waiver wire is like shopping at the thrift store, but this league never donates anything good.

There's too many relievers named Tyler and Taylor, or Duffey and Pressly. I think I thought I was getting Taylor Rogers but I got Tyler Duffey. (Did I mention the drinks?) It's like Tyler. Taylor. Reliever. Guy.

I feel personally attacked Uptown ;). I believe Empty & I are the only ones to make a case for vote off but are open to switching. As long as we have a committed group of owners who are willing to stick around for another year I am fine making the switch. The problem in the past few years in particular has been that we have had a lot of owner turnover year to year and if the allocation isn't done by all nothing will change. As of now, Mac's Squad is the only one that really appears inact
-
As a new owner, I want to share two thoughts about the vote off situation: 1) we could always try allocation for 1 year, see how it goes and if we want to go back to vote off, we could. 2) The same owner has won this league for like 8 out of 10 years. Maybe there are additional reasons for that besides the vote off system, but I have to believe that changing to allocation would help address that.

What I like about vote off is that it puts more high end players in the auction pool. It keeps a lot of other salaries low, which probably has a lot of negative effects.
I don't have a strong preference either way.

I vote yes

We have had a lot of owner turnover throughout the years and the allocation system is best suited to an active league with little turnover. At least with the voting system wildly underpriced guys make it back in the pool and the market corrects itself. That being said, we seem to have picked up more active & long-term owners where 1 or 2 teams not allocating would be less of an issue than 5+.
-
Just out of curiousity, why do you prefer vote off?
Uptown Nine on
April 22, 2021 4:34 PM

I do prefer the vote off, but if everyone else wants the allocation we can make the switch.
Just so it is clear below are the rules for allocation:
You have $25 to allocate across the league. You must add $1 to at least 1 player on every team but you cannot add more than $3 total to any team. You also have to allocate all $25. If you do not add $1 to every team or you do not use all $25, none of your allocations will count.

Not wanting to forget about this, and hearing no dissention... Can we officially switch our offseason arbitration from the Vote-Off to the Allocation system?
