The short answer is no, Minor Leaguer's points don't count towards your team's points.
Only points earned by players in your starting lineups will count for you. A minor league player can only earn points for you when he is promoted to a major league starting lineup and you put him into your team's starting lineup.
-
Really crucial question I should have asked way earlier: do Minor Leaguer's points count? I am guessing no.
-
Commish - nice job with the slow draft. I was skeptical but I thought it worked out well. Sorry I was absent at first - real life got in the way.

Our auction is complete! Rosters have been fully imported and transactions are now open. Please, please, please let me know ASAP if there is an issue with your roster. And let's enjoy the season!
-
I'm done so that works for me
-
We haven't had any active auctions today. If no new auctions are started by 7pm tonight I am going to end the auction and we will transition to in-season ottoneu
-
Hey all...we are trying to finish the auction as quick as possible...the simplest way (ie. the way without changing any rules/times) is just for everybody to click pass if you are not planning to bid anymore on a player...if 11 managers click pass on a player the auction ends right there. This can get done real quick if we're all doing that.
-
Yeah, thanks for running the show, Ethan! It seems the Espino problem is just adding insult to injury—looks like I’ll be cutting him as soon as the draft is done, unfortunately. If it’s easier for you to leave the wrong name until post draft, you can.
-
appreciate your efforts to make this work for everybody commish.
-
I imported the auction progress back into ottoneu - this should make management a little bit easier. It looks like Daniel Espino's player ID link is broken so I might be manually cutting him from Morristown's team after each import... But everyone else looks good to me - please let me know ASAP if something is off. I'll be doing these imports every day or so as the auction goes on to keep things as in sync as possible.
-
Alright everyone, the auction has started. We all have 1 nomination per team at a time to start off but we will up that as we go on and get more comfortable on the platform.
-
I'm flexible for anything...
-
Cool, just wanted to confirm that the slow draft starting tonight was the only available option. Here's hoping it isn't too much of an imposition.
-
I think I was previously available but am now unavailable if we are talking about tonight specifically
-
Slow auction kicks off at 6pm tonight. I assume people's schedules haven't magically cleared so we can do a live draft - but if you were previously unavailable tonight and now are, please let me know because I agree live drafts are better.
-
So what time does the auction kick off tonight? We really can't live draft this?
-
The password to join is "oooption"

Here is the link to our auction room. Please join as soon as possible and name your team the same as here in Ottoneu so I can import rosters https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/?auction_id=848
-
I'll set it up and send out instructions after work today. Please join as soon as you can and name your team the same name as it is here on Ottoneu to make it easy to import rosters onto the platform
-
Do we have a couchmanagers draft setup for next week?
-
Sorry, starting on the 13th. I’ll update the banner
-
Sending to confirm, but we are doing a slow-draft on March 13th or this evening?
-
Yes, you'll need to create a couchmanagers account and enter the auction room on there, and it interfaces with ottoneu via roster import / exports. I'll send more info on that this weekend when I have some free time but here are some ottoneu threads with info https://community.ottoneu.com/t/couch-managers-recommendations/7056 https://community.ottoneu.com/t/questions-about-couch-managers-slow-draft/8849
-
I've been out to lunch but do we need to set up a separate account for Couch Managers? How does Couch Managers interface with Ottoneu?

Quick note for those that have not used couch managers before—it uses different position eligibility rules from Ottoneu, so if you’re searching for someone by position you’re better off doing that in Ottoneu and just searching by name in couchmanagers. For example cm lists Geraldo Perdomo as SS/2b, but ottoneu has him as 2B/SS/3B. In general you’ll occasionally get more eligibility in Ottoneu, but it can be good to know for guys that move around the diamond a lot.
-
Here is some info on the features for the slow auction. My understanding is that it is pretty customizable and settings can be changed during the auction if we find there's something we like / don't like. If you look at the couch managers site there have been a few ottoneu auctions running and you can view those draft rooms to see what it looks like https://www.couchmanagers.com/auctions/guide.php
-
Good but some info on the format for the slow draft would be useful

Works for me. Can you post a link to how it works for those of us who haven’t done a slow draft before?

Sorry, Wednesday the 13th, not Tuesday.
-
Does a slow draft on Couch Managers starting on Tuesday March 13th not work for anyone? It it's good then that's the plan as of now because no other option would appear to work for everyone.
-
did we get a draft plan figured out yet?

I personally would prefer to start a slow draft more mid march (week of the 11th-17th?) but I can probably make it work whenever.

I don't think we're looking to draft early, just trying to find whatever time would work for everyone's schedules. I think a slow draft through couch managers in mid March is our best bet, even though it definitely isn't my preferred type of draft it is an improvement over some teams having to sit out entirely or have someone proxy draft for them. I'll send out more info over the next few days but are there any weeks in March that people won't be able to participate in a slow draft?
-
Sorry for chiming in late and I don't mean to be argumentative or pejorative, but why draft early? I'm more of a fantasy football person than baseball (not an excuse for my record) but drafting later means you reduce the risk of spring training injuries. Especially since ottoneu gives you zero relief for the guys who rehab and aren't really 100% until May and June is essentially their spring training.

very creative Morristown...but it feels like this would be too far gone from regular draft strategy with all the blind bidding...and very very slow if we had to wait a day per player/position never mind the coordination amongst 12 managers to decide who gets to nominate...better to just slow draft

Alternatively, here’s a crazy idea—just mark the draft done. All free agents are available via the normal in-season free agent process where we put in our bids once nominated. Might want to agree not to nominate more than one player per position at once to give people time to pivot to other options, but realistically through cuts and reauctions it would probably work itself out.
-
Same here - I’ve never done a slow draft but would definitely be up for giving it a try.

I've never done a slow draft but given the situation, whatever you decide Commish, I'll make work.

I prefer slow drafts in general, but def for a situation like this.
-
If I'm the one holding up a certain day let me know. I'd rather not slow draft.
-
if the choice for me is between a date I can't make or a slow draft, I'd definitely prefer a slow draft

Auction times update: we are still having real trouble converging on a single date that works for everyone. The best time appears to be 3/10 in the afternoon but even that isn't a great spot and we'd be down several teams. Are people open to doing a slow draft via couch managers instead? The auction would then take place over several days / week in early to mid March and people could bid at any points throughout the day.
-
I've updated the form to send you a copy of your responses when you submit (thought I'd done that originally but oh well)
-
Do you have a link to the results? Can't remember what I put for 3/3 and 3/10
-
Thanks everyone who's filled out the auction times survey. It looks like we are going to need to change the auction from the current date on March 2nd. We don't have a consensus time that works for everyone. The 2 front runners that only have 1 person who can't attend are: 3/10 in the afternoon or 3/3 in the afternoon / evening. Please let me know if anything has changed and you can now attend those dates. Also, I am adding dates for late Feb / weekdays to the poll so please refill it out.
-
Hey commish, I just now filled out the form as I was waiting to get some plans firmed up. March 2nd doesn’t work for me, that’s my daughter’s birthday and I’m spending the day with her. Does any other day work for the group?

Thank you to those of you who have filled out the auction poll so far, right now Saturday March 2nd in the afternoon looks like the best time so I have tentatively scheduled our auction for then. Please let me know as soon as possible if that does not work for you and continue to fill out the poll
