I think most guys would prefer a weekday around 8pm EST so if there are some days that are better than others please fill out the doodle. Otherwise we'll just go with the slow draft.

Oof, yeah bad sign the lack of transparency and fees. Appreciate looking into it. Probably best to keep as is. (also anyone interested in creating an alternative platform to disrupt leaguesafe? single league flat fee plus earned interest on deposit?)
-
I looked into LeagueSafe (an independent money manager site) and they aren't super forthcoming with the exact details but what i could gather was there is a 4% fee off the top (for $900 would be $36)and $3-5 fee per transaction which depends on amount/league size and some $10 charge for something else.

So, for me, time is more important than date. I can do almost any date after 7 pm CT. I have three small kids so if I can help get a couple ready for bed, I can then draft.

I would like to see if we can find a date for a regular Ottoneu auction. Please fill out this doodle with your availability. Try to be as flexible as possible. If we can't find a date then we will do the same slow auction as last year. With 65% of rosters filled it should only take about 2-3 hours.

Perfect, thanks!

The 3 teams with the most points through the last game on Sept. 1st will split the side pot ($900) 450/300/150, which I'll send out in the days that follow. Top 6 teams will participate in the playoffs following the Otto format and those winnings will be sent out by otto.

Also what's the split payout of the side pot?
-
Got it. Was looking for these details, thanks! Never used leaguesafe before but outside of trust element it should also be much easier to coordinate/automate if we want to consider.
-
You don't have to pay the side pot now. Everyone would pay before the auction/draft.

The side pot is $75. It is paid to my personal PayPal account. It was distributed last year during the first round of the playoffs. As far as league safe, there are a couple guys in here that are in 3=4 leagues with me and would destroy my reputation if I did anything shady. With that said I understand your concern and I'm open to a safer method but as of now it's just my normal PayPal.

Before renewal been trying to get info on the side pot - How is the pot distributed? Where is it paid, stored, and distributed from (e.g. leaguesafe)?
-
Hi all - just grabbed this team, excited to join the league. I'm fairly active and experienced owner so shouldn't take long to get going, just need to get a feel for the league. In the meantime feel free to send over trade ideas, tag players of interest, etc. if you see something that might work. Best of luck!

Great news

Also, I've been in contact with Niv (the Ottoneu founder) and it is most likely (yet not official ) that there will be a 1250 cap on IP for non-H2h leagues that have playoffs (Which is us). Last year it was 1500 but only 2 or 3 guys came even close to that. It will be a soft cap though meaning on the last day if you're at 1249 you can put in as many pitchers as you got and possible go over the 1250 mark a bit. Something to think about as you start to make cuts. Any Q's let me know.

HNY! Please renew the league or send me a message so I'll know if we need to replace anyone. It would be best to let me know in the next day or so. Would like any new owners to have a few weeks to make some trades before the 31st cut off date.

Starting tomorrow, for 2.5 months you can trade and cut. Cut players receive 100% refund and this is the only time all year you get 100%. The cap and roster limits are temporarily irrelevant so you can trade 10 players for 1 for example just as long as you get your roster/cap squared away by Jan. 31st. There are NO cuts and trades after Jan. 31st. Rosters will be frozen until after the draft/auction, which we will decide on later for March sometime.

This is your week warning! Get those dollars placed!
-
Arbitration starts today and ends 11/14 at Midnight eastern time if you have any questions or issues just let me know. Also, just remember to arb at least a dollar to every team, use all of your arb dollars, and the max you can arb to another team is three dollars. Milo doesn't fool around it seems. You can look at the arb home page to see what he did if you need an example.

@ Casey, re: TATERS. Yeah, that has been my major grievance with the Otto scoring as well. Pitchers like Max who doesn't care if 2 of the 4 hits gives up are solo shots just don't score like they do in our other leagues! But it's something that affects us all the same, and after 3 years, I have gotten used to it (ALMOST, but grudgingly)
-
Take a deep breath Justin! It's no big thing. But it is a necessary part of the League. If the previous messages from Cup aren't clear, just click the Rules tab above right, and review the Arb process in more detail. Pleanty of time! Message me or David if you still have any questions
-
I have no idea what arbitration is or what I am supposed to do
-
Rosters are frozen until arbitration is finished. Arbitration rules are simple - You MUST allocate $1 to every team and no more than $3. You MUST allocate all $25 to the other 11 teams. If you don't follow all these rules your allocation doesn't count and you really screw yourself. It only takes about 20 min. but you can spend hours analyzing if you want. You have a month but I recommend doing it early and adjusting it later if you have time.

There is a calendar link above but the next phase is arbitration and it starts next week. After that teams will be able to trade and cut but you don't need to get under 400 until the keeper deadline. The keeper deadline is usually in Jan. but above it says Mar. so I'm not sure if it changed or not. I'll get back to everyone about that. Then we'll start up the auction draft again in Mar. sometime.

So, I enjoyed the year. Now I have a better grasp on how this thing works. I dislike the emphasis scoring wise on HR's, especially for Pitchers. With the increase in HR's I think they are less "special". I don't know if anyone else cares, just my 2 cents. I would appreciate a run down on how the off-season works. Can we trade before we cut? When do we have to be under $400? Things of that nature. Thanks for a fun year all!
-
Thanks, and great year, all! Looking forward to next. Sweet D, I think I had you if we looked at past 3 weeks :-). All fun matchups, though... Go Brewers!

Congratulations Cricket! Thank you all for a fun first year, I look forward to an active off-season.

good battle guys, congrats to the Champ. But having a World Series extending into this week isn't much different than Week 17 NFL, imho. I wonder if we should bring that up to Niv on the Offseason Discussion Forum
-
I would've appreciated it more if Nico Nico could've gotten in on the love.
-
I thought Waino with the chance to clinch division against the Cubs AAA lineup would be good. Not good.
-
Reynaldo Lopez is killing me.
I am dead at the hands of Reynaldo Lopez.
The authorities should be notified.
-
Velasquez may have just closed that opening. Has
he always been right handed, or is he trying something new?
-
Well, the Cubs are skipping Darvish and Hendricks last turns, so instead Iβve had to roll with Miley and Brett Anderson. Thereβs an opening! Should be a fun weekend.
-
He sure was dealing today, I hope he heals quickly. I might just keep him for 2020. βΎοΈ

Incredibly, he was on his way!

All I need is Tyler Beede to throw a perfect game with 27 strikeouts and maybe I can get back into this.

G. Cricket ($300) and Trout Sniffers ($150) have been paid for 2nd and 3rd place regular season standings. Meant to pay these guys last week but I was camping. Reminder, this money came from the side pot. Good luck the rest of the way.
