Hello, new kid in town, ready to deal...my arb is done...talk to me after the 14th
-
Welcome to the league, SUYT! Thanks for taking over the team!
-
Hey everyone, just one more week of arb left and we're open for business! We're still working on finding a replacement for Puig so hopefully we can get that team filled asap. If anyone knows someone who might be interested please let me know.
-
Sorry guys been busy with life these days - Chocobos and Moogles will be co-commish as well and can help out as well with any questions/concerns and of course engagement lol

A friendly farewell, appreciate knowing!
-
Hate to do this, but I'm going to bail on this league next year. Just don't have the time required to put together a competitive team.
-
Arbitration is half over. Two weeks to run up the prices!
-
Hey new folks, welcome and good luck!
-
Welcome to the new owners!
-
Welcome Infinity ERA! Thanks for joining us!
-
Whoops. Saw the new name and I assumed you were new.
-
Welcome to the league, Vinnie's Cousins!
-
Is anyone else intending to leave? We should make sure the league is full so every team has an opportunity to participate in arbitration. I can post vacancies to the Ottoneu Slack channel, if that'd be helpful.
-
Arb is now open!! I will start looking for an owner for Marte gras.

Congratulations on the 4 peat. Looking forward to the playoffs and planning for offseason moves.
-
Thanks for the congratulations, all. It's been quite a run.
As far as cap goes... Loans are part of the game. However, if this league wanted to make a rule that all teams had to be at 40/$400 (or less) immediately following the last game of the season, I'd be down. I do think that there's a slight advantage to having more assets to deal in the off-season if you're a team that got loans, and I'd be fine with starting every off-season on equal footing.
-
I’d imagine starting the year with Judge and Julio were two HUGE factors to his success in 2022.
-
I’d have to agree with Genrous and Marte Gras. The Ottoneu trade/loan functions are imo what make it such an attractive format, at one point I’m pretty sure I also had close to $500 in cap and only touched 1st for two days and promptly had my squad fall apart at the expense of losing exciting surplus like Vinnie P, Tovar, Miranda, Gunnar, Arozarena, Rodon and more. I sent FT some loans at the deadline to get some surplus back when I was looking out of the running, but…
-
I have $502 cap and I’m in 2nd for the moment, it’s part of this game. Early congrats to Forearm
-
Ha the format may have flaws but that’s not one - taking on huge loans in any given year makes it harder to repeat, not easier, because you’re giving up future value in those deals (at least if the trade partners know what they’re doing). I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone win 4 straight in Otto so seems like congrats to FT are more in order than sour grapes. If you’re losing to the same guy 4x in a row, something is wrong but I’d venture a guess it might not be the format!
-
Same team wins 4 years in a row with over a $500 salary cap available. What’s the point of a cap if you can just get loans that let you take it to an unlimited amount? I’m out. Major flaw in this game. No suprise he won again

Thanks, BBB! I keep waiting for it all to fall apart... It certainly looked like it was out of reach in May, but my pitching finally came around and allowed me to crawl up the standings. Looking forward to the off-season and arbitration!
-
Congrats Forearm! 4 years in a row you've been whooping our butts.

Story available as well
-
Stanton, Yelich, Suzuki, JDM all still available do the stretch run…
-
No problem from my perspective
-
If it’s okay with the group I’d like to keep the players I have and wait for my roster to get legal when the Hader trade processes. I understand if the majority believe I have to get legal now but the trade is in process and will free up two roster spots for me at 6:30 tonight.
-
Hey everyone, leaning towards not cutting DeGrom right now even with the injury but given my lack of pitching depth and his unkeepable salary I’m pretty open to moving him. Let me know if you’re interested and what you’d be willing to offer.
-
Thanks everyone for showing up. Smooth draft that went much faster then expected. Good luck to all!

I have an opening in an AL only league on another site if anyone is interested. I am the commissioner, someone had to drop out because of work. Draft is 3/29 8pm. Message me if interested for details/constitution, too much to list here. Ty

Keep in mind the '2nd' draft would probably only need like 6 people to attend.
-
As an EST with a mid week draft I love the idea of cutting at 10:30p/11p EST. I'll take a few hours off work WED am if I am the only one with that thought though.
-
A one night draft works for me too. 200 spots to draft. Say 1 minute per player roughly ? We are looking at 200 minutes
-
One night works best for me too. As a westerner, I like to prey on all of your eastern dreary-eyed auction mistakes when the midnight oil burns too low.
-
I'd also prefer to stay up a bit later to finish in one night, if possible.

Happy to do what works for most, but I’d also strongly prefer to get it done in one night. I’m on the east coast but would rather stay up late and knock it out.
-
Lets get it done in one night, I have other drafts the next week

Changing the date now hopefully works for everyone. We can nail down a second date to finish it off as well
-
(totally cool with 8:30, just like busting his chops, we're in 2 otto's together)
-
197 players to draft (41% of max rosters), $1724 to spend (35.9% of max budget), $8.75 per player. Book it on the 22nd and let's just peer pressure ManBear to manage 8p somehow
-
Ok looks like 22nd might be the day. We can start at 830 for ManBear. Maybe we can Pause it at 10:30/11 and then do the rest another day? Say the 29th one week later?
-
22nd works for me
-
We’re like 2 people away from locking down the 22nd!!
-
Thanks UCL ! I am good any evening right now 14-30. Just cant do 31st of March and 1st of April (unless later in evening) . Not sure who is in what time zone which is why I usually picked 8pm to avoid someone drafting earlier then 5pm from PST during the week
-
I can probably make the 22nd work if we can be somewhat flexible on start time. I can't get free until about 8:30 on Tuesdays. I know that makes for a late night so I'll work around whatever gets decided if that's the best date for the rest of the league.
-
I can make pretty much whatever work, no urgent plans in the coming weeks.
-
22nd works for me

22nd is great for me.

So far that is a gigantic chunk of the available draft dollars.
