Indeed. The downsides are no paid time off and, sometimes, portable toilets. Everything related to compensation and life balance is much better.

Lemon John, Nice! I wish I could say I had seen a ballgame in every current park. Not even close. Well done. But you would be amazed at the former/gonzo parks I have seen a game at.

Paul: Extra kudos for the Grobstein reference. RIP, Les. Arthur, understand perfectly the null and void Trout agreement. I mentioned “Griff” as a possible name for our first born. My wife said, “but that’s the name of your parents Bassett Hound, isn’t it?”

I have 9 dollars in my budget for Andy the clown 🤡.

UGH. Even worse: FireRickHahnanomenon features nine current White Sox players. (Anyone want a $29 Eloy averaging 2.5 p/g? How about a $13 Kopech at 0.73 P/IP??) But just like at 35th & Shields, we'll be keeping our front office leadership in place for years to come no matter how bad it gets.

It’s honestly kind of baffling how awful they are.
-
Nice name change, Matt. In the spirit of wasting 2 years on Tony La Russa and 1980s regret, I think Jerry Reinsdorf’s next move should be to reinstall Hawk Harrelson as GM to burn this shoddy White Sox rebuild to the ground.

Happy Opening Day, everyone! Just a reminder that this first matchup ends next Sunday and our 9 GS cap will not reset Monday.

And by Wednesday, I mean Thursday, March 16...
-
Evening all. We have just about reached critical mass for our Doodle poll on the draft date so I am going to go ahead and lock in Wednesday, March 16 at 8 p.m. eastern time. If any has an issue with that date, please let me know.
-
Hey everybody. As of right now, Wednesday, March 1, is the frontrunner for our draft. Please chime in if that date does NOT work for you and I'll move on down the list. Otherwise, I'll lock that one in. Thanks!
-
Good morning, everyone. Thanks for getting your cuts in before the keeper deadline last night. Now, it's time to start talking about a draft date. Here is a Doodle poll: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/bk2XE4Ea. Please check boxes for ALL of the dates you are available. I can also bump the draft back by 30 minutes or an hour if needed, just let me know.
-
Friendly (and final) reminder that 11:59 p.m. eastern time tonight is the deadline to:
1) Make trades
2) Cut players
3) Renew your team
-
I’m putting Acuna Jr. on the trade block to see what I can get for him prior to the keeper deadline. Expecting big offers, so let’s see what he brings!

Morning everyone and happy new year! A few quick reminders: The keeper deadline is Jan. 31 at 11:59 p.m. eastern time. The end of the month is also the deadline to renew your team, which you can do from your user dashboard: https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/userdashboard.

If all you want for Christmas is another opportunity to kick my butt, there are 2 playoff teams available in my 16-team H2H points league. One is led by Judge and Corbin Burnes while the other has Freeman and deGrom. It’s a $20 league with another $50 paid to commish for prizes. 1st pays $550. I believe settings are same as Moe, other than it’s 7 SP starts per period and a 2-wk title game

Hi all. Quick bit of housekeeping from the arbitration period. The proposed rule change to move from a 6-team playoff to an 8-team playoff did not pass. 58% of the league voted and the vote was 5-2 in favor of keeping the current playoff structure.

That time when the league stuck Arthur's Sandy Alcantara with $21 of arb and FanGraphs wrote about it: https://fantasy.fangraphs.com/2022-ottoneu-arbitration-player-data/
-
Once again, we had a 100% participation rate in arbitration. Thanks everyone for staying engaged at the start of the off-season! Time to update your trade blocks and start wheeling and dealing.
As per tradition, here are the most arbed teams and players:
1) Springfield Sultans $33
2) Mr. Taco Presented by Taco John’s $27
3) Docile Irish $24
1) Sandy Alcantara $21
2) Dylan Cease $17
3) Aaron Judge $16
3) Alek Manoah $16

Maybe having 0 MLB SS has something to with him being last place? 😂

The last place team is available in my 16-team H2H points league if anyone is looking for a challenge. https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/1211/team?team=8528

Friendly reminder(s), there are just two weeks left to (1) allocate your arbitration dollars and (2) vote on a proposed rule change for the 2023 season. You can find the poll for the latter here: https://forms.gle/kAFZ1iYzLaBANsgV6

Morning everyone. The league history document has been updated for the 2022 season and is available here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PLmJx3g1aGAPjrPrhWd6zBGQpNLck19NKyvfqcVULm8/edit?usp=sharing

A few quick updates to share. Per Niv, mandatory salary increases will take effect tonight and loans and cap penalties will disappear. Payouts are tentatively scheduled to be sent tomorrow via PayPal. Arbitration begins Oct. 15!

Congrats again on a great season everyone, and thanks for ensuring rosters were legal heading into the off-season. Here's a link to an Ottoneu Community thread on key dates over the next few days: https://community.ottoneu.com/t/end-of-the-2022-baseball-season-megathread/12158. Arbitration officially begins Oct. 15.
-
Reminder: The deadline to start end-of-season auctions is 11:59 p.m. eastern time tonight. Rosters will lock on Oct. 6.
-
Our 2022 season has officially come to an end. Thanks everyone for yet another fun season. Since the MLB season runs through Oct. 5, you can still add/drop players until then. The deadline to start any auctions is Oct.3 at 11:59 p.m. eastern. Aside from 60-Day IL players, please make sure rosters are legal heading into the off-season.
