Leaguemates, there comes a time in a season where you just have to admit defeat and Drew and I have reached that point. We are officially sellers. Let us know if there's anyone on our team your interested in. Kidding, but seriously we'd love to trade. Hope everyone has had a more enjoyable opening weekend than the Cubs bullpen (Go O's).

You guys are right, I was just wondering if and if, at that price you're better off cutting a bench player or poor SP or RP. Thanks to straightening my thinking process on this....haha If the season can start, I've got a twingle in my pitching arm

Appreciate everyone's input here. Unfortunately Jeff is out of the country for a bit longer, so we won't have anything finalized. But my preliminary thought is that we'll keep things as is. The only potential issue would be if a guy gets called up as insurance or something of the sort and doesn't play and is immediately sent down. In any other case, this shouldn't be a problem. Stashing players that have been called up won't be allowed, as you then keep another MLB player from the other teams.
-
Sorry, but not having to add someone to the 40-man once they get called up IRL doesn’t make any sense. We were only alllowed to draft these guys because they weren’t in the Majors yet, so being able to keep them on the MiLB roster despite them being in the majors seems very much against the rules.
-
I think that the $1 ownership is already such a profit potential there needs to be a mitigating cost. Plus are there any people currently owned that if they got a cup of coffee you wouldn't want to roster them? Alonso and Kikuchi are probably going to be huge sources of profit. If Ke'bryan gets called up sometime I'm definitely not going to cut his ass.

We appreciate all your efforts Commishes, we're just trying to find with you guys what to do with this. We throw our 2 cents in for discussion

I tend to agree, because if you're roster is full you will have to drop a player to add one that's been called up and maybe the call up will stay and play or maybe not

i dont think you should have to add the prospect if you are set with your current team just because they are up in real life. If you want to add them then you pay the $1, but i think we should have the choice if we want.
-
Serge, Jeff and I will be keeping track of call-ups and reach out to you, regarding the 48 hours.
-
I think he just automatically puts him on your roster for $1 when he is called up

the flip side of that is right now you are rostering someone at no cost who could put you over the top in a race for potentially only $1 instead of currently having to use a 40 man roster spot and spend more roster $ in an auction
-
I don't want to put up a stink about it but I feel like we should just be able to drop them for no penalty if we don't want them. If your salary is tight and some scrub gets called up in September while you are making a championship run, you are going to have to drop a useful player just to make room for a guy you have no intention of using. Just my opinion and I will obviously go with whatever the group decides.

I don't understand the 48 hours. What if we don't know (for whatever reason) he's been called up and learn about it after 48 hours ??

Prospects must be called up within 48 hours of joining an MLB roster and will incur a $1 cap penalty if dropped during the season.
-
So if a prospect gets called up and we don't want him do we take the $1 cap penalty or can we drop him for free?
