Agreed (and not just because I’m a beneficiary here). Were there a known injury, and made in bad faith then for sure…but making rule changes like that had better be crystal clear. Also, the idea that we’d actively set/change rules in-season seems like a bad precedent to set, no matter what the situation.
-
My opinion is no. Once the trade is agreed to by both teams, they have no path out. The trade was made in good faith, just absolutely unfortunate timing. Nothing about it screams veto. I think it could open a Pandora's Box in the future, if the trade was between contending teams for example. I only have one vote in the matter though.
-
Nope, no real justification for it to be undone. It was a fair trade agreed to be both parties. Just bad luck he got hurt after I hit accept. It would be disingenuous of me to lobby for a veto as that is reserved for unfair/unbalance trades. All we can do now is laugh in my general direction while I drink some peach bourbon.
-
I’ve never seen a trade like that rescinded due to horrible injury timing, but I’m open to what the league prefers on that one. The trade was agreed to in good faith and is balanced enough to not veto in my opinion, but I am able to rescind basically whatever if needed.
-
Can you rescind the Albies trade? Just curious about the rules because it has not been completed, no? Never seen this come up before. So can you lobby to get people to veto? How does that work? Just curious
-
Weird is an understatement. And ouch...nice trade Bartolo. Gonna make catching you a bit harder now.
-
It got way too weird in here, hoping removing the bad apple calms things back down so we can all just enjoy the rest of the season haha
-
I will second that vote of confidence in WOBA. I am especially happy because it means I don't have to step in and do anything.
-
Oof. I was on vacation and just got back yesterday. I only now caught up on all of the scuttlebutt here. Well done and thank you to the commissioners, I agree with all of your actions in the past week.
-
Oh noooo! That’s awful timing, I’m sorry Jobu!
-
Well....that was an unfortunate trade. Good job Jobu. LOL
-
Not to steal his thunder, I'd be inclined to move Acuña, Hoskins, and possibly Turner to a contender. Let me know if you wanna chat.
-
I’m looking to move Cole for a cheaper asset or two, or would be open to aggregating his salary with a higher surplus player to get a top bat. Send me offers if anyone has interest!
-
Just popping in to say welcome Christian! Good to have you.
-
Hey folks, thanks for having me! Looking to move Albies, if anyone wants to take him on (with loan), hit me up.
-
Welcome Christian! Thanks for coming in

Ok, talked to Niv and others and made the decision to boot Miami. We have a new owner for that team, I’m going to undo all the current cuts from that team and give the new owner one round of penalty free cuts. Welcome Christian!
-
No you just make up the rules to benefit who the commish chooses to reward. Same guy who didn’t care about policing anything. Cool
-
Real leagues would not have let this go on this long, and certainly would fix drops like this.
-
They aren’t on waivers because of your actions. I wonder how this would work in the real leagues. Just blatantly unfair to tell me where to stick it by playing by the rules.
-
No one is colluding maybe you have colluded in the past in other leagues. Doubt anyone here is working to split a $200 pot. Usually one accusing is the one who has colluded.
-
If you were three or four more spots up the standings you would be pitching a fit about the situation. Miami you are absolutely correct and I stand by it

The players aren’t on waivers any more so there isn’t a waiver claim to be discussed.
-
You accused two owners of cheating with absolutely no proof.
-
Of course I am trying to take advantage of the situation. I am a competitor and who wouldn’t. Respect my waiver claim if it goes through and Im fine or something, just not the shaft.
-
You have zero credibility so save it.

Seriously Bartolo I am not going to collude for a$20 league. You make accusations with no proof.
-
No you are getting accused of collusion for trying to take advantage of the situation. It looks fishy

OMG I being accused of collusion for wanting to put a waiver claim on Andrew Vaughn? This is truly getting out of hand.
-
He hasn’t denied it yet

You should ask Colleen Husband

If that was possible I’d be glad too

Nope no collusion. Feel free to look up our communications.
-
I wouldn’t worry about the money. It is clear that he is just trying to ruin the league for the rest of us and we all paid money too. But, I appreciate your due diligence on the matter.

I think the closest thing to locking the team is to remove him as a manager. I want clarity on how to handle that since money is involved. For now, I’ll just re-add anyone that is dropped that would be vetoed if traded for absolutely nothing if that makes sense.
-
Yes that is exactly what I am doing, but I am not sure you are smart enough to come up with it

Do you have the ability to lock his team because he is just going to keep dropping them?

Bartolo so now you are accusing me of collusion. Do you have proof of collusion? So you are accusing me of cheating? I’m not leaving the league sorry
-
I’m hoping I can work something out to find a mid-season replacement owner. I’m just not sure how it works with the buy in fee. Hoping I’ll get some clarity soon, maybe early next week.
-
It sucks for your roster, but he was never on your team. He wasn't removed from you. The moves were reverted as if they never happened so you had zero actual loss, only potential future loss. Beyond that, who's to say Worst to First didn't/wouldn't also place a claim, which would supersede yours?
-
If possible, we need to put all of Miami’s players back on his team. Boot him and lock the team. It is the only fair thing to do

Vaughn will remain on Miami’s roster unless he is traded. You will not be compensated CH.
-
It’s almost as if Miami is dropping these players in an effort to get them to Colleen’s Husband. You guys got a DM thread going?

Andrew Vagn is mine. I’m in tenth place and I put in a legal claim for him. Now, I know Miami has been difficult and an unknown as an owner. That being said, as an owner in tenth place I feel like I getting the shaft for being competitive. It’s not my fault if someone goes nuts. Maybe we as a league can come to some form compensation. I say this respectfully for lack for lack of better words.
-
I'll play the game, who specifically are you referring to Miami? You mention Pivetta, he was dropped before he went on his current heater. When he was dropped on 4/26 he'd pitched 16.1 IP, given up 15 ER, with a 16/13 K/BB ratio. That is not rosterable. He was owned for all of two weeks last year. Not at all in 2020. The fact that you (or anybody else) haven't started an auction for him before now shows how he's viewed.
-
You aren’t benefitting from this CH, give up. You can yell into the void however long you want, but it won’t change anything.
-
Yes, but one is a trade that is allowed to be vetoed by league rules but it was a waiver and not a trade. Thus the distinction. I’m for fair play but I have a legitimate beef as an owner. It’s not my fault I benefit from other owners doing whatever they want to do.
-
No one else has dropped productive players like that with surplus value on their contracts. You want to play victim constantly, the format and league are not out to get you.
-
Well let’s start questioning why other teams dropped quality players. If you question me then you need to question other teams.
-
This is my only thing Miami, why drop those two (Turner/Vaughn) rather than put them on the trade block and get something for them to benefit your team? Prospects, cheap controllable guys, something. Those two are productive players at fair to good prices. The visual is that you're dumping players that could be used to improve your roster. I'm sure several would work out deals for either of them.
