So a quick summary for everyone’s visibility: all are in with exception of Worst to First, which we have a replacement from Joc’s friend from the sounds of things. Both DUF and I’ll Rename it Later sound more tentative than definite, so let me know if I need to find more replacements.

Hey! We just had a spot open up, worst to first. DM me the friend’s info and I’ll figure out how to get it set up.
-
Er, Battery Power. Still messing that up.
-
I'm in for next year. Just finished my arb allocations and I have a friend willing to take on a team if we have an opening, though he's not a regular Talking Chop reader.
-
Also MAKE SURE YOU HIT "SAVE" at the bottom of the page after making your allocations for each team otherwise it won't take.
-
4) If any of the first 3 conditions are not met (e.g. you distribute less than $25 or you try to give a team $4 or $0), your arbitration is invalid and will not count at all.
So please make sure before the November deadline hits that you use it appropriately.

I don't know if any of you need this info, but since we're in the arbitration part of the schedule and some of the current numbers look strange, I'll remind you of the rules for arbitration.
1) You have $25 to distribute among other teams' players.
2) Each team must receive at least $1 of your arbitration money.
3) No team may receive more than $3 of your arbitration money.

Arbitration will start late next week, is everyone planning to stay in the league next year? I’d like to get a jump on replacements as early as possible so new owners (if any) can go through the full offseason cycle.
-
From what I can tell, that's out of 21 leagues of our type, though I couldn't speak to how many of those leagues have exactly 12 owners who are trying.

Wowza! Nice work, that's awesome folks!

Congrats to KMDS for the championship, and a 4th place finish in the global standings! JD pulled in 9th in global standings, and I wound up 31st. Impressive showing from the league in spite of the, uh, challenges from earlier this year. Thanks again to our last place finisher for replacing our league troll, and thanks to all of you for sticking with this league through the weird. Here’s to a productive arbitration cycle and offseason!
-
Congrats to the podium finishers, especially KMDS! It was an interesting year to say the least. Looking forward to another year. Oh....and injuries are stupid. Please baseball gods, I can't handle another year like this. LOL
-
Congrats to Kyle Muller on the championship. It was an eventful season, but I enjoyed it. Thanks for letting me take part in the league

I just want to note now that his innings are up, WOBAcompensating got 172 total saves and holds this season. That's a record for our league, and really just a totally ridiculous number. Well done, sir. For a relatively normal bullpen salary, you put together an absolutely unbeatable bullpen.

I paid $76 for Mike Freaking Trout last year and he scored 700-900 points less than his other seasons. Those are the outliers I'm used to lol.

I'll take it as payback for the several times I've paid a good price for a good player in this league and they've still underperformed their salary by more than 230 points.

Fun Fact: If Judge had only scored as much as the #2 hitter in the league I’d be within one point of 1st place at the moment. 230 point differential between 1 and 2. What a ridiculous outlier season compared to the league. Nearly 50% more HR than #2. Incredible season.

For sure. I think the only reason he wasn't the no brainer that Franco is/was is because the call up was a year or two earlier than anyone reasonably expected.
-
His batting profile isn’t crazy far off Wander Franco’s with the same positional eligibility. I get why everyone wants him, math really likes him.
-
I threw $7 on him and figured either I'd run away with it or get beat by a mile with no in between lol
-
Yeah his average salary has spiked by ~$5 since I last looked this AM. Went from like $2 to $7+ in a matter of hours as all these auctions start to close.
-
I'm just bitter I didn't win. You don't have to defend yourself to me. LOL. Hell, the average "last 10" salary is not far off from you paid.
-
Auctions have been all over the place for Grissom, I saw some chatter of $10+ bids in other leagues on Slack. His batting profile and position profile is why I bid so heavy, I’m not usually the Braves homer haha
-
That one made me giggle too. Saw that $ and said "Go Braves"! LOL. I knew I was going to be high on the bid list, but never thought I would be 3rd.
-
You know it's a league made up of mostly Braves fans when Vaughn Grissom goes for $11. I know we're all hoping he's worth well more than that!
-
Which something?
-
Well that’s something…
-
Alright, I'm making an honest assessment of my team, and there is no way I'm going to chase down the top 3. The injury bug hit me too hard. I'm getting an early start to the trade deadline, hence the massive update to my trade block. DMs are open if you want to slide in.
-
For whatever it's worth, I vouch for CH's character in fantasy over the past 3 years I've played with him. I happen to disagree with CH's stance on the waiver claim situation and think he should have dropped it after the commissioner confirmed that it wasn't going to happen, but I'm willing to forgive and chalk it up to his competitive spirit now that he's agreed to let it go. Cheers.
-
Just catching up on all of this and holy shit. wOBA, thank you for handling that the way you did. I like to think I would have done the same thing if I was smart enough. Welcome, Christian!
-
Pretty much it. WOBA has said it head on. I can let it go. I’m not a Moron. It was just a move where I benefit and I got left with nothing. When your at the bottom your looking for every advantage you can get. I know the hatred for the former owner and it is warranted. Just would like the benefit of the doubt.
-
If it's unclear, as the backup commish, I agree with WOBA's actions. To the degree it is possible, we have a mandate to prevent an owner's bad behavior from impacting their replacement.
-
Understood…thanks for recapping.
-
The short of CH’s complaint is that the owner that was recently removed dropped Andrew Vaughn and CH wanted to claim him. However, that was among the cuts I reversed due to the actions being anti-competitive and detrimental to the league. CH wanted some type of compensation since he couldn’t complete the waiver claim.
-
Your predecessor had issues earlier in the year, then randomly cut a bunch of players including Vaughn and Turner. Never sought a trade or put them on the block, just mass cuts.
-
Let it go CH. No one agrees with you, and there is nothing unfair about what happened. TL:DR - Previous owner was a troll, and was simply cutting the majority of his team (as you can tell). We didn't say anything until he went entirely too far, cutting valuable players. We had to get him removed. We undid all the cuts from that day. CH had put a claim on one of the players and won't stop saying we should have let that one waiver claim go through.
-
For me there is no gray area around the trade. That seems to be consistent with everyone else. Beyond that, I think my comment got lost in the back and forth, but you didnt have a clear claim even if it went through. Worst to First had the higher claim priority.
There were actions clearly wrong to a majority of the league, best course of action was run through the ottoneu creator to ensure consistency within the brand.
-
Can someone provide a Reader’s Digest version of the scenario? Just curious…
-
Isn’t this half the fun when owners do stupid stuff and you can benefit?
-
I was even open to other compensation. The fact that an owner went rogue, is not my problem.
-
See, I agree with the new Mister Later. There is a lot of gray area here that needs to be defined. Which I actually think is good because it means we have a highly competitive league. For example my waiver claim. Now this was uncharted territory as we all know. That being said, it was a fair claim and the actions taken without discussion leaves me at a little loss for words.
