What I did say was we are not only responsible for the season but spring training and the WBC as well. That’s a lot more games than just the season
-
Injuries are part of the game. I don't think we need to be making rule changes after the free cut date has passed. Just my opinion

Post-1/31, when cuts are made...is in season. Some people hold their drafts right after that cut deadline.
-
I made no mention of in season
-
It sets an awful precedent being able to make penalty free cuts in season. Agreed with Barves completely, this is how dynasty works, and it can surely suck but we all have to deal with it at some time or another.
-
I don’t think I can even move him to the DL before the draft starts. So you lose a roster spot to fill on draft night
-
Seeing as he's Gavin Lux, my guess is that there is a number well above $2 that someone will carry him for a year and wait until he's healthy.
-
Although it is unfortunate, that's kind of the rub with dynasty leagues. If you want to cut him, you can continue to re-auction him until another team rosters him (removing your cap hit entirely) or win the auction at 50% of his current salary, then cut him again, auction again a month later, etc until the cap hit is $1.
-
I’m open to any suggestions but I do think it is an issue.
-
Curious what you guys think. I had Gavin Lux go down for the season but I’m asking for others as well. Do you think we should have a round of cuts before the draft starts or the season. I mean, I’m already in the whole and the season hasn’t started yet. We are all one the hook for spring training and the WBC. Seems tough enough to just deal with in season let alone everything else. Thoughts?

renewed and on board!
-
Thanks artist formerly known as KMDS! Or do you just prefer Murph now? Also, thanks everyone for getting your teams renewed. I assume that means everyone is still on board for this year?
-
I've set the draft, but it can always be changed if need be. I have also unchecked the box that required nominations or owners would get locked out of the draft. That gave us issues last time.

I'm also okay with 3/26 @9pm Eastern.
-
Either option works for me. I don't tend to be overly concerned about preseason injuries, but we do tend to have the best information regarding position battles, etc the closer we get. I'm also not overly concerned about post-draft auctions as we should have the majority of our roster formed when the auction is over given all teams have active managers going in.
-
3/26 at 9 PM Eastern is ok for me. I was trying to avoid a situation where the season starts before post-draft auctions can resolve, but obviously we can't do the 19th if not everyone can make it. I'm less paranoid about doing the draft earlier than others.

26th works for me
-
I prefer as close to season start as possible for everyone. 3/26 at 9 pm EST works for me if it does for everyone else.
-
the evening of 3/26 would work for me, are we thinking 9pm eastern again?
-
Agreed...less than 2 weeks before the season starts is not too early.
-
I disagree that the 19th is too early, but I understand if it is not the ideal date. The 24th and 25th are not good for me. I could do the 26th.
-
I like JD’s plan. If the season starts the 28 I think it is still a little early to hold it the 18th.
-
On my team page it says season starts on Tuesday 3/28...so the weekend on 3/25-26 may be an option?
-
I’ll be over seas. Get back the 20th
-
That works for me.
-
Fine for me.
-
no objections
-
Draft on 3/19 @ 9pm Eastern works for me too

Any objections to March 19th at 9 PM Eastern for the draft?

Unfortunately our salary cap isn't increasing to $500 this year so I've got some folks that need to move, my preferred options are on my trade block but nearly anyone could be available for the right price. Always makes it interesting to shake up the roster a little, let me know of any interest.
-
I’d agree, as far as I can tell I’m free the 18th and 19th. My preference would be an 8pm or 9pm start given I’ve got toddlers to get to bed, but could do the midafternoon too.
-
I’ll echo the preference for close to the start of the regular season.
-
I'm always a fan of being as close to the start of the regular season as possible (considering schedules) when it comes to fantasy sports. Nothing worse than spending a lot of capital on someone who blows out their knee in the final spring training game.
-
I think it should be held closer to the beginning of the season. Like within 4 days of the start. Lots of changes and injuries happen in spring training. Like fantasy football drafts are held in the last week of preseason. Same reasons.
-
It could be a bit early, but I'd like to get people's thoughts on draft scheduling. March 18-19 is the last weekend before the season, and since spring training games begin in February, I'd say February 25-26 is probably the first weekend to consider. So we're talking about one of the weekends in that window. Thoughts?

Important dates are under the tool icon on the menu bar. Keeper deadline is January 31.
-
Does anyone know when we need to have a player cuts finalized?

Murphy's Law - What can go wrong, will go wrong. Damn, I wish I would have thought of that first. Would have been perfect for my roster last year. LOL
-
That’s a bold name Cotton, let’s see if it pays off for him

Because Kyle Muller is gone from both my team and the Braves, I have decided to name my team after the guy we traded him for. And Aaron Judge. Behold: Murphy's Law.

My trade block is updated. I'm not going to be aggressive about trades this offseason, but there are some potential deals there if someone's interested.

All of arb is done, nice job everyone! The next key date is the keeper deadline on January 31, so start playing with the roster organizer and thinking about trades ahead of draft szn
-
I'll Rename It Later - Friendly reminder, only 7 days left in arb.

There is one problem. We are now no longer the knights who say 'Joc's Pearls'. We are now the knights who say 'icky icky icky Chipper at the Chop House'.

Welcome new member! Good to have you!

Glad to be here, thanks!

If I did it right, we have a new owner for Worst to First! Welcome!
