Yep, I agreed to pay up pre-draft and I'll continue to honor that. I'm good with the $25 fee and the payout ratio proposed.
-
Is anyone still game to make it financially interesting? I think we last settled on going $25 a head, maybe paying out something like 70/25/5% to first/second/last place.

So if you have players on those teams that you want to play, just make sure they're in your lineup by then. Just keep in mind the positional playing time limits.
-
The A's and Mariners are playing a dumb Japan series to start the season, which starts 3/20.
-
The site says that the season starts on 03/20, but the first games are not until 03/28. Do we need to start setting our lineups for spring training games starting on the 20th?
-
I was joking. I think it would be funny to actually ban him, but not if someone wants him already. I do want to find out who dared to take our most hated player though.
-
Yeah. It's not me, but he is up for auction. I think KMDS was saying that sarcastically.
-
Oh wait was someone really trying to add Urena? If so I can un-restrict him.
-
Done. Jose Urena is now the one and only player restricted from being added to a roster.
-
We need a delete button for Jose Urena as a player. Commish, make it happen.

Punny Name Goes Here's trade block has been updated!
-
Please email him if you can do it. Rabj919@gmail.com

I can do it, since it'll only be the second half. Unfortunately, I won't just get to steal Ivan's picks.
-
I'm available, but I don't know if I'm the best choice to be drafting for someone else's team, Haha! I can live with my own mistakes and errant choices, but I don't want to make them for others.
-
Hey guys, I got a message from b0dini, who's commish of the other TC league. One of their league members has a sick family member and can't make their draft tonight. Can anyone fill in? It's at 9 PM, but it's the second draft session so shouldn't take more than 2 hours.

WAR what is it good for's trade block has been updated!

I sent a trade proposal your way. Take a look and let me know your thoughts.
-
Fine by me. Thanks for the chance to fill out the roster a bit. Several wild cards but maybe a few will pan out. I havent had a chance to look through other rosters but would be interested in potential trades for pitching improvements or SS if anyone finds they have an excess.

Are we unlocking free agency in the morning?

Yeah, that's pretty much how I tend to see it, and how it usually goes. Being that it's a dynasty league, it's okay for people to make trades with future seasons in mind, even if the trade may appear lopsided short-term. I mean, even if you think there's a clear loser of the trade, that person had to agree to it. So unless there's some sniff of collusion or foul play, I almost never veto trades.
-
My opinion on trade vetos is that they should only be used if there is reason to suspect that one of the sides in the trade is not trying to win, but rather trying to help the other side. Otherwise, I feel like it's a jerk move. Is that reasonable?
-
Actually, now that I look at it, I think I had to make that change before we finished the draft. So I suppose it will stay at 48 hours for this season.
-
No concerns with 24 hours for trades.
-
24 hours makes more sense to me; I'm good with it.
-
How would you guys feel about changing the waiting period following an accepted trade from 48 hours to 24 hours? My other league is switching to 24 hours this year from the standard 48. It would give people less time to possibly veto a trade, but I think I've seen like one trade ever get vetoed.
-
No, it's purely for organizing your own roster. It's a bench spot effectively.
-
Does the Minor League position in the lineup have any effect on roster size or salary cap? I know injured list counts against salary but not roster, just not sure the significance of the Minor League designation.
-
Correct. Position players can accrue points at any position for which they have eligibility, even if they don't appear in the position you have them that particular day.
-
I understand that you have to play a pitcher at the correct position (SP vs RP) depending on where he plays in real life on any given day. This does not continue over to position players, correct? If I have a 2B/3B player and play him at 2B but his team plays in at 3B in real life I will still continue to accrue those stats, right?
-
Works for me. I won't bid against, or nominate anyone, until Thursday morning. Happy hunting JD!
-
Also JD in case you missed the conversation, there are two catcher slots on your lineup page for planning purposes only. You should only plan on playing one catcher per day/game.
-
Yeah, we can extend that time frame if need be. That's not a problem. Most of us are out of roster spots/money anyways.
-
I'm fine with not bidding until the start of the season or until I notice others (besides the three usual teams) doing so.
-
So I'm basically picking from what's left at $1 apiece with no competition but need to go ahead and make those selections at some point today or else they can be bid against as of midnight Wednesday? It looks like all but a few of those previous fill-ins stayed at $1 or $2 anyway. I should be able to make that happen I think.
-
Yeah, absolutely. I still need to add one more player, but I see no reason not to give him the opportunity to fill his roster like everyone else.
-
So we basically decided that those who missed the second half of the draft would have a chance to make nominations and bid without competition from the ones who WERE at the draft. That technically ended yesterday, but now that we've had an owner change, I think we should extend it a bit. So feel free to make noms to fill out your roster, and everyone please lay off and give him a chance to snag a few guys. Auctions take 48 hours to complete, so let's say you've got through the end of Wednesday
-
I vote to continue our holding pattern on bidding FAs until JD can get their inherited team up to speed. Should we establish a hard date on when FA truly opens up?
-
We had a moratorium on bidding against folks who missed the second part of the draft, I don't see any reason that should change. Everyone cool with again not bidding against JD Power for 48 hours?

So I've taken over "Smoltz's mom jeans" as of today and find myself lacking 22 players on my roster. I see there was a lot of discussion, could someone clarify what was decided as far as bidding is concerned preseason? Just want to be sure before I start filling out the roster and nominating players. Thanks and look forward to the season!

So Mom Jeans (spliitshot) emailed me to let me know that he has quite a bit going on in his life currently, and he's not going to be able to participate in the league. Anyone know of a possible fill in? They'd basically just inherit his roster. If we can't scrounge anyone up, I'll post something on TC to see if anyone is interested.
