So what did we decide on the side pot? Should probably figure that out before Tuesday.
-
I'd likely vote no side pot as well just because I'm not convinced we'll get a "finished season" as defined by the MLB. Just a lot of uncertainty around how much baseball we will actually see.
-
I'd vote no sidepot, its just too short a season

I guess my only hesitation with side pot is they play like 2 weeks and it gets cancelled. If that’s the case I’d vote it rolls over to next season. Does that make sense and or is it possible?
-
Maybe for this crazy year we could make the side pot optional? If most people want in on the side pot, we can pay out the top 3 spots the same %s of the pot Ottoneu does. If only a few people want to do the side pot, we can vote to do winner-take-all or pay out first and second.
-
Personally, it being my first time playing, I’d like a reduced pot. I get that the randomness of the season will affect everyone but at that point it becomes more gambling than fantasy baseball. Happy to play whatever the case is though
-
most of my leagues have gone with a reduced fee for the year but I'd be happy to participate full price for this one.

We vote to keep the full side pot!
-
Please don't let the $50 I've put into league safe affect your side pot choice. If the league votes against the side pot, I'm sure we can vote me side pot champion and I'll get paid out. For you, wonderful league mates, I am happy to eat the $2 processing fee!
-
Also, we need to make a side pot choice. I vote to do the side pot as normal because I think the luck/randomness of covid affect all our rosters generally evenly. I understand there's less time for the true "best" roster to shine through, but I favor the excitement of a few more bucks on the line. Please make your final votes re: side pot in the next couple days.
-
Alright, I went for the 21st for the draft date so we can have some after draft trade opportunity before the games begin. If we need to move off 9pm that's fine too.
-
Looks like July 21/22 work best in the future and close to start of season. I‘d probably vote to forego side pot - unsure we’ll get even a “full” shortend season
-
We should probably lock in a date before this weekend, right guys? Excited to get started up again.
-
I’d prolly vote for the latest draft day possible that works for everyone. Wouldn’t be surprised if more players start to back out as the testing seems like a mess
-
So far 9 folks have responded to the doodle and there are three days in which all 9 can participate. Good start! Is there a way to set up a poll regarding the side pot? Seems like the general consensus is to not care (same, I'm excited to play either way), but we will need that to be decided somehow.
-
As long as I can get my side pot returned, I don't care either. The luck of the short season, at least, would theoretically hit us all pretty equally. Last call on participating in the draft date poll, y'all.
-
I’d prefer no side pot this year with it being pretty much all luck. But if everyone wants to go with a side pot I’m willing to do that too

Also down for whatever will keep league engaged. Either way works
-
We're in for the normal pot, but happy to do whatever will have the most people engaged.
-
im okay with either way, down for sidepot but also 60 games is a bit of a crapshoot so okay with none either, up to the rest of the league
-
I’m good with a side pot and fine with 50 or if people prefer lower for short season that works for me too
-
Here is the leaguesafe site. https://www.leaguesafe.com/join/3929570
The only person who paid is Golfers. Do we still want to do a sidepot or should we scratch it for such a short season?
-
Also, league, 9pm was just to make creating the poll easier, as I only had a few mins. Personally, if moving up or back an hour helps us all be at the draft, I'll make it work with the wife and kids.
-
Marmot do you have a side pot link? I want to say I paid the side pot a few months ago. Think it's league safe or some similar site.
-
Lets get a new draft date: https://doodle.com/poll/n6dpxkwy849mmhgi
-
I am in!
-
I’d be in for the season. What was the side pot again? I’m open to still doing that if others want to.
-
i'm in!! 60 games >>>> 0 games
-
Agreed! At the very least, I think we should hold the auction and let an interesting season play out. I do think it might be wise to lower/eliminate the extra buy-in and make this season mostly about bragging rights and building for next year, but if we vote to pay sticker price I’ll gladly play for that too. Just want some baseball!!
-
I’ll take 60 games! Need some normalcy back. This helps.
-
I agree with you both, it's too short for our normal season rhythm, which sucks. On the positive side, it could be pretty dramatic, as I'd expect the standings to remain extra close till the end. We also have the draft to come, so teams can strategize this year versus future priority as they like. Hope y'all are healthy and well, league.
-
Baseball is back!!! While a 60 game season certainly isn't ideal, we'd hate to miss out on a season of fantasy. We're certainly in.
-
Well what do you guys think? Personally, I dont have much interest in playing a 60 game fantasy season...

Does sound like postponing is consensus, and that certainly doesn’t hurt anything. Hope everybody is staying safe!
-
Ok sounds like most of us are up for delaying. My wife is a nurse and we have a baby at home so I never know what the next day is going to bring so a postponement would be welcome

I also vote to postpone, we're not even sure if and when the season will start.
-
League votes are 4-2 postpone according to the message board so far.
-
My vote to stick with the draft assumes everyone is in a similar situation as me. Working from home, no one I know being sick. If anyone in the league needs to deal with more pressing things, I change my vote to postponement out of respect. I suppose it's really a cursory delay based upon MLB uncertainty that I don't think is worth the hassle.
-
I tend to agree Harvesters but most of the league hasnt responded so I guess we will just have to move forward with the currently scheduled draft

My vote would be to postpone - more important things to deal with and frankly who knows if there will even be a season and this point
-
I vote for drafting as planned just because we have availability of our group. At least the uncertainty affects us equally.
-
Someone posted about having this years prize pool be put into next years on slack. I’m not saying that would work for us but I’m not sure if I like the idea of a half season prize pool

We’d prefer to hold off.. too much uncertainty now.
-
Just a little worried that it will be tough to find another day in which at least 90% of the members can draft. At least now most everybody is at home. Just my thoughts, my vote would be to proceed as scheduled but happy to go along with consensus.
-
Honesty I think we should postpone until we have more information. Interested to hear others opinion though

Are we still planning to draft 3/22 or gonna postpone?

I am available on the 22nd now. I was going on Pearl Jam tour in Canada for the week but we got corona'd. I'll be ready to go.

Looking back at the doodle poll we had the most people available on the 17th or 22nd so unless someone can change their schedule it appears we will have some people missing.

Ahhh, I was under the impression that the two dates had tied, so we’d have to figure out a way to decide between those two. I do remember one person saying that they would not be able to participate at all on the 22nd, didn’t know if that was also the case for the 17th. Just don’t want anyone left out.
-
When’s the deadline?
