OK thanks, but I've seen much worse in some leagues
-
Papi, The trade was: Alex Bregman ($26), Steven Kwan ($8), Will Smith ($1) for Corey Seager ($32) and Joe Ryan ($8). As for anonymity, I was contacted directly. Had a back and forth with the person, recognized the points being made and the gravity of what was being said, and chose it was best to wipe away the deal and attempt to re-work it. Since I was contacted directly, I’ve chosen to keep that between me and them.
-
I would like to know what was the trade, and why the opposed owner wants to stay anonymous?
-
For further clarity - other managers should not feel that the commish cancelling trades is going to become a standard in this league. The only other deal I have done this on was one where I was alerted to a mistake. I only canceled this one because I was a party to the deal and wish only for the league to continue in harmony as it has for years now. Drake - sorry you’re wrapped up in this. We’ll try to get things ironed out and moving forward smoothly.
-
Bregman, meanwhile, has no surplus left. Played 40 more games but scored less points. 3 ppg of difference is a lot. And don’t be fooled by the “total points” conversation bc while Seager doesn’t get the points from the 40 games he misses, the manager does.
The throw-in’s are inconsequential, but fwiw, Ryan was dealt for Fried straight up in another league. Not sure Kwan is commanding that in this format, where he isn’t very good.
I’m ok with it but agree w/anonymous. I
-
I’ll preface this by saying I don’t think any “honest” trade should be vetoed. In other words, as long as it’s fair / reasonable, you’re both adults & paying to be here, at that.
That’s more of a difficult one to accept from an “integrity of the league” standpoint. Drake doesn’t appear to be trying in 24’ (no worries) but this doesn’t help him long-term. It does, however, give the best SS in the league, in April - not August, who has surplus value, at 8+ ppg, to arguably the
-
I am cancelling the agreed upon trade because a manager in this league has a major problem with it. He wishes to remain anonymous. We will re-work this deal, if possible.
-
Yes. I have seen major upset/discussion because of it. I make my intent public so no one can be particularly upset if a high cash equivalent obtains either player.
-
Rowdy, I haven't seen it pulled off in a major way in this league or the other I am in, but I know it's legal by the rules of the platform. Cap relief has obviously been achieved via trades. Just haven't seen a true "buy" via trade in these leagues. I know it happens across the Ottoneu universe.
-
So no one gets upset...I have been offering Pablo Lopez and Corbin Burnes for cash & a player. I know selling for cash can be sensitive.
-
Jeff - Payouts come from Ottoneu. Maybe Matt Olson hits 74 this year and Trout plays a full season. Who knows? The joys of Opening Day!
-
Good luck and let’s have a good season. Jet, you can make the check out to Jobu.

It won’t be that early, Rowdy. But I plan to log on around 7:10-7:15 Central.
-
Correction. CDT. Daylight time
-
Like the earlier start, if it happens. I will start checking in @ 5 pm CST.
-
Final reminder: Draft is TONIGHT at 7:30 Central. If everyone who is drafting is logged on early, we can start early.
-
FYI - There are some sporadic issues accessing the Auction Draft lobby via Chrome browsers (I am currently having this issue in this league despite not having it in my other league). I recommend testing your access prior to Sunday. If you have a red bar at the top with an error message, the solutions appear to be either: 1) Clearing your cache; 2) Using Incognito Mode on Chrome or 3) Using a different web browser. If you have questions, please reach out.
-
Reminder: We are drafting on Sunday.
-
Does anyone object to the draft being held the evening of St. Patrick's Day?
-
Works for me.

ok by me

We have passed the keeper deadline. The next step is setting a draft day. We have to draft a little earlier this year because the Dodgers and Padres begin play on March 20, with the rest of the league starting March 28. I've set March 17 at 7:30 pm Central Time as our time. Please let me know if that doesn't work and we will adjust.
-
I have been informed there was an error in the recent trade agreement between Daigos and The Yellow Darts. There were multiple offers submitted and the wrong one was selected. I will be voiding this version of the deal so the parties can accept the correct version.
If both sides let me know of something like this in the future, I will do the same thing.
-
The vacant team has been claimed. Welcome to the league, Al. A reminder to all: the next deadline is January 31 to make your cuts and payments.
-
It's December 1 and our vacancy (No Free Bases) is proving tougher to fill than previous vacancies have. If anyone knows of someone interested in taking over a roster, please send them my way. Thank you.
-
Two teams failed to complete arbitration in the month-long timeframe to do so. The next deadline is the January 31 keeper deadline. Please make sure your teams are draft compliant by that date or inform me you no longer wish to participate in this league. We already have one vacant team I am trying to fill. I really don't want to have to fill two more. Be sure to check in at least periodically during the offseason to fulfill your responsibilities.
-
No Free Bases has informed me he is leaving the league. His team will be posted shortly.
-
Warning Track Power’s team has been claimed. If anyone else is contemplating dropping the league, please let me know ASAP so I can find a replacement. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing arbitration decisions continue to roll in over the next few weeks.
-
Warning Track Power has decided to leave the league. I have posted his team so it can be claimed. If anyone else is considering leaving, please let me know.
-
We are approaching the start of the arbitration window. If anyone is considering leaving the league, please let me know ASAP so I can start the process of finding a new manager.
-
I encourage everyone to read the "End of 2023 Season Updates" link at the top of the page. But I'm pulling out one key line for those who won prizes.
Monday, October 9: Prizes will be logged in the database and you’ll be able to see what your prize total looks like across all your teams. Withdrawal will be made available at a future date once that process is fully tested with our new payment processor.

1 month left. Watch out for Jobu’s magnificent come back.

I hope this is the cause of rampant ghosting in all of my leagues
-
FYI - There is an update at the top of the league homepage from Niv regarding an issue with gmail accounts receiving Ottoneu emails. Half our league has gmail accounts listed as their email provider. Gmail users may be receiving delayed notifications for auctions, cuts, etc. via email or not be receiving them at all. Be sure to check the league closely until this is resolved. It's apparently an issue between Google and Amazon Web Services and not specific to Ottoneu.
-
Good luck, everyone. Let's play ball.

I’d say whether it’s De La Cruz or one of the others, I’d move a SS for a pitcher. I’m assuming there is not a MI spot in this league you describe, and if there are 30 teams, with the SS you have, someone must be in great need for one.
-
That changes the context a bit. Given that it’s 30 teams and 5x5 forever, I think you keep him. Your SS spot is kind of ideal. You have flexibility & answers that are needed (Wander, Gunnar, DLC). I’d wait a bit and buy in-season. I’d imagine you get some teams that sell / rebuild? Right before call-up, DLC can easily be moved. Possibly for better than Castillo. If the other guys tank, maybe you bail there. If they all look good, maybe you just move Turner. Castillo move to 25 mil next y

It’s keep forever league. 5x5 scoring 30 team dynasty league. (R, HR, RBI, OBP, SB, W, ERA, WHIP, QS, SV/HLDs, K. Raleigh, Alonso, Frazier, Franco, Manny, Buxton, Soto, Eloy, Duvall, Trea Turner and Brantley, Henderson, Villar, Kerry Carpenter, Waino, Urias, Flaherty, Thor, Roansy, Pallante, Bednar, Helsley, Vesia, Jorge Lopez, Puk, Liam Hendricks(who knows there). Feel like I don’t need the offense.it’s a salary cap league based off of MLB salaries. I’m about 25 from the cap. Castillo 10mil

What is the league format? Salaries? Keeper rules?
I like Castillo in 23’. I’m not sure what kind of look Cruz gets. Don’t really know the keeper rules. He’s explosive. Should be in the running for #1 overall. The K’s are a big concern. Positional change potential.
Hard to say. I’d imagine a better SP may be able to be had if there is an issue salary/keeper wise or you aren’t as high on Castillo. But I think he’s a good addition for 23’ if nothing else.
-
With the SS you have, I’d say Castillo. And maybe Castillo independent of those SS depending on what format the league is.
-
Not this league. Would you rather have Elly De La Cruz or Luis Castillo. Have depth at SS with Trea, Wander, and Gunnar. SP is not weak but not terribly strong. Minus the k% 30 HR and 30+ SB is hard to ignore with elly just wanted to hear fellow baseball savants thoughts. Thanks for the time.

Apologies for the continued draft date tinkering. I now think March 12 is a better day. Please let me know if the proposed date/time does not work.

Proposing a new draft date. It’s looking like I’ll have another league drafting on the 19th.
